On top of that, I bought him and his employee lunch. They moved everything into a storage unit and were finished by 4:00pm. After the move, he requested I pay him $1495. 3 and a half hours of work would have been $525. He told me he was charging me for 7 hours. How is it my fault that they were 2 and a half hours late? Why would I be charged for that? I understand paying for travel time but where did an extra $1000 charge come from? They are now unresponsive and I am working with my bank to dispute this payment. Most of the bids were flat rate for interstate moves, even though both towns were right on the border of each state and most bids were approximately $1,200. One company even bid three moving men for this trip. I clearly understand when families move their entire home and all belongings, one may need more movers and time for this process. This furniture had no sentimental value and was not worth $1,200; I simply wanted to utilize something I already had as I do not like to shop. TJ's Services arrived for the pickup and delivered on time. They were very courteous and did a very nice job. I would not hesitate to contact them again if I had any other moving needs.
