Local move from house in Barberton, Ohio to Parma Heights, Ohio. Moved from a 4 bedroom house to a…read more3 bedroom house. Both homes had bedrooms upstairs and a basement. Most belongings were packed in boxes and containers. The boxes were clearly labeled where they should go in the new house (2nd floor bedroom, living room, 1st floor bedroom, kitchen, basement). The movers asked where to place the furniture. Unfortunately almost all of the boxes and containers were loaded into the basement and stacked 4-5 boxes high, completely filling up the basement leaving no access to the furniture in the basement. Then, to add insult to injury, the final price was almost $2,000 Higher than the original quote. CJ did finally adjust the price down by $1,000 because of the damage to our antique dining room table and other factors. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with CJ, he was defensive, denied any wrong doing and was insisting nothing was his fault. My son and daughter in law spent two months moving boxes and containers up the stairs so we could unpack where the items belonged. Additionally, most of the wood furniture was scratched and scraped during the move. Probably because none of the furniture was wrapped or protected properly. The initial estimate was done by having me take pictures of each room on my house, garage and patio. Obviously not a very reliable method. Overall this is a nonprofessional, start up company trying to cut corners at the expense of the client. Do yourself a favor and go with a more seasoned, professional moving company like Two Men and a Truck!

I called Hortons to pick up some items in my rental property left by last tenant. Was told that…read morethey charge for space taken up on truck. This was not a whole house clean up just some misc household goods and trash/junk left behind. After sending photos we agreed that a 26 foot box truck would accommodate this project more than likely. The representative also shared that if we use less space it will be less of a charge and it looks like there may be space left. I figured for the whole truck anyway. Job is done Hortons are paid. I had my Realtor do a walk-through as to get house ready to rent again. at rear of garage there was a single chair left. I called Hortons and they said that they could return to pick up the chair but there would be an additional charge. Either they were not thorough with their initial job or they were trying to take advantage of an out of townee. Not sure but this company is shady and I wouldn't recommend anybody doing business with them.
