Our visit to Smokey Bones was pretty solid! First off, I was blown away by the sauce selection with so many options, and each one has a different kick. Mustard bbq, KC bbq, Chipotle bbq & Carolina mopping sauce The vibe was lively and fun, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Service did slow down a bit, but with a game on and the place packed, it was understandable. The food itself was unforgettable. The mac and cheese was absolutely to die for, rich and creamy. The Morning Glory Burger with the egg was a flavor bomb of amazing! I was hesitant but the mix was spot on. And the Brisket Stuffed Grilled Cheese? Just insane. I honestly can't tell you which one to pick because you won't go wrong with any of them! Can't wait to come back and try even more from the menu.

Sara is an excellent server! She kept giving us Sodie pops and we LOVED it!! This is a wonderful place and our server made it even better!

Very small portions. All good except chicken breast. Ribs taste good but must have came off a big rat. Smallest rack I've ever seen.

We were visiting Springfield and looking for a place for dinner and found Smokey Bones which was a few blocks from our hotel. Our server Jeff was great, answered questions we had about the menu, refilled our drinks as soon as our glasses were empty! Food was delicious and big portions. We started out with onion rings for an appetizer. For dinner we had the house ribs with cornbread and loaded baked potato and smoked turkey BLT and loaded baked potato. If you are looking for a great place for dinner try Smokey Bones you won't leave hungry!!

I used takeout for this restaurant while traveling for work. Place is ok, definitely not the worst but definitely not the best bbq I had. The highlight of the show was the Chipotle BBQ sauce, the cornbread and the jalapeño sausage.

Smokey Bones is a busy place. This is a great barbecue place. You know you are about to get some smoked food. The wings are great. I was there with my coworkers. They enjoyed other menu items. I would say this is a must visit place. The ambiance is nice. The decor is on point for a barbecue restaurant. The service was great. The server checked on us often. I was told that they ran out of wings that I wanted to try. However, they made it for me anyway. I was fine with trying something different. But the chef prepared it for me they way they use to make it. I enjoyed my wings. I had 2 types of barbecue sauce. The fries were good. If i go back I'll try something different. My coworker enjoyed the ribs. We were in Springfield on business and the restaurant was close.

Great food as usual, but the service was absolutely amazing! Timothy went above and beyond to make our dining experience perfect!

Paid for 24 wings, received 20. Disappointing. The wings were tolerable but paying more for less is not.

For the buffet, you pay first then find a table. OK, just don't chit-chat so much -- take the money and move on to the next party. We paid and found a table -- boy, it is loud in there!! We headed to the buffet. Scrambled eggs were in the first container. OMG, they looked terrible!! Scrambled eggs are not supposed to be brown!! Thankfully, they had an omelet/eggs to order station so I was able to get scrambled eggs that were correctly prepared. The bacon was under-cooked and the sausage was tasteless. Cottage fries were ok. All of the breads and pastries were probably from Sam's. Coffee and juices were included in the price and the orange juice was good. You could order Bloody Marys or Mimosas for more $$$ but we stuck with coffee and juice. For the price, I would not go back. The buffet was kept re-stocked and the staff on the floor were friendly, but it just wasn't what I was hoping for on Mother's Day!

Thankfully we still were able to get one cider, and they had a selection of other beers. The cider was tart and refreshing, and I really like the berry mocktail, which had ginger beer, and a mix of berries in it. As for food, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich came with a lot of heat which was great. I got the dry rub version, which is spicer than the saucy version. The horseshoe sandwich is a local favorite, which is an open faced sandwich with sliced bread topped with meat (we got the angus beef), fries, and cheese sauce. It was quite heavy and creamy because of all the sauce. Overall we enjoyed our meal and our server was very friendly, although service was on the slower side.

The building is beautiful, the location is perfect, and we thought, "Hey, maybe those bad reviews were just people having a bad day." Spoiler alert: they were not. Service started strong. We were seated right away, and they even brought coloring pages for our kids -- a nice touch that gave us false hope. Then the food arrived, and it was like watching a plot twist in a bad movie. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pony Shoe. It came out looking like someone microwaved a bag of frozen chicken tenders and tossed them in buffalo sauce for moral support. The cheese sauce might have been homemade -- it was grainy enough to make me believe someone whisked it themselves -- but there was barely any. Also, who hides the cheese under the fries? That's the star of the show! I had to beg for more, and even then it arrived lukewarm, much like my excitement for the meal. My wife ordered the Pork Schnitzel with "spaetzle." Except it wasn't schnitzel; it was a pork cutlet that had clearly seen the inside of a freezer longer than most people's leftovers. And the "spaetzle"? Nope. Straight-up spaghetti noodles. The mushroom sauce tasted like it came straight from a can labeled Cream of Disappointment. Two of the kids got cheese pizza -- or as I like to call it, "Frozen Circle of Regret." My son's "chips" were somehow both soggy and chewy, a texture I didn't even know existed. Frying them until they're crunchy shouldn't be rocket science, but here we are. Everything was bland, flavorless, and missing any sign of seasoning. The best dish of the entire meal? My daughter's burger on her Pony Shoe -- mostly because it resembled real food. And just to add a little flair, nearly every plate was dusted with dried parsley. Because, of course, nothing says fine dining like sprinkling dried parsley on frozen food. This place has serious potential -- it's got the space, the charm, and the perfect downtown vibe. But if your secret ingredient is "frozen," no amount of parsley is going to save you.

One of the reasons I love Mediterranean food is its use of spices and infused flavors. A complimentary carrot salad mixed with yogurt was served with warm pita bread. This was not good, frankly, and was the start of what would end up being an underwhelming experience. I ordered the mixed sampler platter for an appetizer. The only thing worth eating was the falafel and the cigar borek (fried breaded cheese). My entrée was the chicken shish kabobs that were accompanied by rice, a small chargrilled tomato, a chargrilled pepper and an onion salad. The chicken lack any kind of seasoning. Even salt would've help. This was probably the most bland Mediterranean food I've ever experienced. The presentation was grade A but the lack of flavor resulted in a Grade C. Even the baklava was bland. For $60 (including tip) I could've had a much more fulfilling meal.
