I was traveling for work on 6/7 and as I was alone I sat at the bar. The group if 4 near me was complaining that they hadn't gotten their food yet and the bartender/server told them the large tables order got put in before theirs. Shortly after that their food came out. From the time I placed my order until it got set in front of me was 40 minutes! I asked if the kitchen was backed up or if they were always so slow. I was told that there are normally 3 on the grill but tonight only 1. Came here with a group of co-workers for dinner. Briefly skimmed the reviews and thought I would still give it a try. My thoughts were to get a steak, potatoes, and broccoli but it was a bbq place so why not indulge. I should have left after I tasted my sprite. It was super sweet and no fizz. I immediately sent it back and replaced it with water. I decided to order the two meat combo: Texas beef brisket, smoked wings, fries, baked beans, and a side of macaroni and cheese. One look and at the beef brisket and I immediately sent it back. It was rubber to touch and not browned. I swapped it for pulled chicken. Disappointed to say the least. It reminded me of boiled chicken shredded with no sauce. The wings were not great. Seemed more oven broiled than smoked. There was a sauce on them that wasn't bad. Wished there was more smoked flavor and more "done-ness." The fries and macaroni were amazing! I would go there just to eat that. I was super hype for dessert. I seen the skillet cookie and ice cream and was instantly excited! I couldn't wait! It came and did not look like the picture. I still dig right in and was utterly disappointed. I've never had a bad cook and ice cream dish ever! How can you mess up a Cookie and ice cream. I seriously wanted to cry. 3 stars for the mac and cheese, fries and the waitress. The establishment is nice and they had a huge variety of drink options. My co workers had more simplistic plates (turkey burger, potatoes, donuts, and salads) and loved it. This is the second time I've ordered from them. Weary traveler so the first time I ordered I did it online and picked it up. Burger was not cooked as specified but I was able to pick up on time. Food was great! I would suggest to order if ordering out to just do the pulled pork. The second time,tonight, I ordered dinner to be delivered, it was missing the sweet potato fries. This particular location has gone way downhill in food quality and quality of service. The hostess was on her phone texting the entire time we were there. Our waiter did a good job, though. We both ordered the baby back ribs and they had to have been leftover from lunch service. They had been cooked until the meat was totally dried up and was like beef jerky. Couldn't get the bones to pull apart as it was one solid piece of overdone jerky. Potatoes had been sitting in the warmer all day as well. Started the evening with some drinks and an appetizer. Had the new Korean pork belly pops. Basically thick chunks of smoked bacon. Chunks were pretty much over cooked. Overall the food is solid as I've been frequenting this location for quite some time pre-pandemic but haven't been back until this week. The reason I didn't give 4-5 stars is for several reasons. The first is that with COVID cases still prevalent the staff could have been better with masking (bartender had her mask basically off her face and well below her nose) and also guests were not wearing their masks when walking around such as going to the bathroom, or when not eating at their table. The other larger issue here is that toward the end of my meal I was waiting for what felt like a long time to pay when out of the blue I was rudely accused of taking photos of other guests in the restaurant. I was there by myself, and on my phone texting/emailing much of the time. I did snap a few quick photos for Instagram, and ironically was actually about to make a complimentary post. Who doesn't do this in 2021?! So, in my opinion these staff should be immediately let go or at the very least be reprimanded, as it's a very serious civil rights issue at hand if Smokey Bones condones their staff monitoring and censoring their clientele especially coupled with rude accusations vs a subtle inquiry. And/or these others at the restaurant are likely involved in something they shouldn't be if they are this worried or paranoid of being in the background of an Instagram photo. read more

We called for a reservation and when we arrived the very rude host said she didn't enter our reservation in the computer and told us there would be a 40 minute wait. We waited for 1 hour and 10 minutes before finally being seated. After being seated we were greeted by a rude sarcastic waiter to take our order. I ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger well done, after which this rude waiter snarkly said that my meal will take 40 minutes. After an hour and 5 minutes and half of the restaurant had emptied we finally received our meals. My burger was very cold and raw in the middle, none of the baked potatoes were full cooked to the point of being raw in the middle, one of the meals baked potatoes had nothing on it. When asked for butter and sour cream you could clearly see agitation in his face. When he brought the butter and sour cream out he very condescendingly pointed to bouh and announced what they were like we were stupid. The med rare steak was well done, drinks were wrong. After paying, no we left no tip as none was warranted because of the horrendous experience. As we were pulling away, the waiter came outside and stopped us to complain about no tip stating that " That's not how this shit works" . Worst experience I have ever had in my life from any establishment. I can only hope that someone in top position will see this and correct it regardless what has to be done. read more

I made an online order through their website, sent my coworker to pick it up, when he inquired about it, they told him someone already came & got it! I then got a phone call from smokey bones to " figure out the confusion". I told them they must have given my order to someone else because my coworker was there waiting. I asked if they were remaking the order and I was told "no, it was already picked up" I again explained they HAD to have given it away. After going back & forth with the representative, I was told I can't have a refund on my credit card bc the person who picked up asked for it by name. I call BS on that one. This was a company birthday lunch for over $100. I ended up having to call the credit card company to dispute. So basically I was told I was lying, and that this happens at least once a week. NOT MY FAULT THE EMPLOYEES ARE STUPID. And so the GM reaches out wanting to make everything right. I commend him for HIS customer service but ultimately the employees need some schooling. A free meal was offered, of course, but that doesn't take care of the fact it was my birthday lunch today and this caused so much distress. read more

This was an AMAZING restaurant. The aroma makes you want to order everything. Besides the assortment of delicious menu items, I have to say the best part was my server - CHRISTY. She was top notch. I was at a convention next door and ate here two different times. Both times she would bustling around and servicing many patrons at the bar. She remembered my drink on day two! It's like Chili's and Applebees combined for a BBQ scam. 39.99 for a pound of brisket that's about 30% edible, and that is debatable depending on how hungry you are. If you appreciate real BBQ, please avoid this joint, it should not exist. Support a real local smoke house. People should care about quality. A little bbq sauce squirted on each. 4/5 Ordered the Double Trouble. 1/3 slab of Back Ribs, 1/3 of St. Louis Pork ribs. Came with garlic bread and 2 sides. The back ribs were fine, but the St. Louis were dried out and overcooked. The server said she'd let her manager know. She came back and said they'd re-fire the ribs. But, she took my whole plate (after telling me to grab my garlic bread). I had not finished either slab, and she took what I was still eating. Left me with my sides and the garlic bread, and no flatware. When she came back, she brought the rack that was re-fired, and not the other rack I was still eating. I asked about it and off she went to the back. The manager (at least I think he was) came back with a fresh order, and apologized for the server taking the whole plate. Good recovery but not great. Re-fired ribs 3/5. Overall service 2-3/5. It's not the place to go if you are a true connoisseur of BBQ. But for a chain, it was decent. I had pulled pork and beef brisket, the pulled pork was fine the brisket was disgustingly fatty. I know brisket can be a little fatty, but this was extreme. It started a with the best cornbread ever. I wish we had just left then. First, our food took an hour. Is that why the beef brisket was so dry? The pulled chicken was more like chopped, shredded, minced, and mashed. The sausage was so dry it was crunchy. My daughter was please with the pulled pork, probably because it didn't look like mashed pork. The soup and salads were fine if you like cold chicken and more parmesan cheese than one should reasonably eat in a week. We were warned he kids Mac and cheese was hot, but it was actually room temperature. The apples resembled a weird soupy mixture instead of what they normally are. I waited 8 years for this visit. The last time we visited we told ourselves that we would come back in a few weeks to celebrate a new job that never came. I finally have my new forever job and we decided to go back to that amazing BBQ place. After reading all the reviews from earlier in the year, the good news is that this restaurant must have FIRED ALL OF THE HORRIBLE COOKS AND WAIT STAFF that was making this place horrible. We were a party of five and we came here on 9/9 our waitress was wonderful and attentive. Our food was DELICIOUS. We started off with the loaded nachos and cheese fries, and all of us would highly recommend them. All of us either had the baby back or St. Louis ribs. The ribs were meaty, juicy, with the right amount of seasoning and bbq sauce. OMG, THEY WERE GOOD. Three of us ordered salads that were very tasty. I DID NOT like the coleslaw at all but three of us ordered onion rings with a side of ranch dressing and the onion rings were THE BEST we've ever had. By the time we were done eating our meals we had no room for dessert and most of us took leftovers home with us. We all had a MARVELOUS TIME at Smokey Bones and we look forward to going back again soon. Smokey Bones is a fast casual restaurant and could be described as Applebee's with a few bar-b-que inspired entrees. True BBQ fans, though, won't be deceived. For example, Smokey boasts its heavily sauced ribs are cooked 4 hours. For superb results pitmasters cook ribs 6 hours or more--and use sauce minimally if at all. (The reason for that is that properly prepared Q shouldn't need a lot of sauce to enhance the meat.) Smokey, like Applebee's, offers up a large menu of healthy (and healthy sounding) recipes as well as calorie busting, artery clogging favorites. Like Applebee's, it also wants to be all things to all people. This location would be nice for a business lunch, casual dinner, date spot, or family outing. Though my meal wasn't disappointing it also wasn't memorable. Service was excellent. read more

Our drinks came out fast and were kept replenished. The meat was nicely smoked and tender. It had such a good flavor! There was a wide variety of sauces on the table that all have a wonderful flavor! My favorite was the mopping sauce and the KC sauce. The mustard sauce had a good flavor also but needed to be mixed with one of the others in my opinion.
