This store has some grocery items, but it houses a large selection of beer, wine and spirits. This store also has a huge cigarette section as well as some great cigars. I purchased some cigars for some friends and the prices were reasonable. They ranged in price and the cost of cigar cutters were cheap. This place is a great store if you are looking to stock up your fridge with beer and wine. The staff was polite and helpful when I was looking at cigars.

However, I have a son who LOVES being read to, so I've been trying to make a point of buying him books, particularly from independent bookstores, since they're becoming scarcer and scarer every year. We stopped by Everyone's Books and it's what you would expect out of an independent bookstore. It felt a tad cluttered, yet very welcoming and cozy at the same time, if that even makes sense! The books seemed very diverse, inclusive, and topical - considering current events. I almost picked out a book or two for myself, but then I was like, "hahaha, don't even kid yourself!" There were some "sale" books out on tables in the middle of the store, but as you can expect, you are paying list price for most of these books - which we should be happy to do if we want to hang onto the very few bookstores we have left! After perusing the children's book section for a little bit, I picked out two social justice/awareness books for my kiddo. The register clerk lady was pleasant and quick and we were well on our way. However, like 5 minutes later, I returned back into the store after unsuccessfully hunting down a public restroom, and the sweet register lady said she forgot to give me the store's free bookmark, so it was serendipitous that I showed back up.

From the very start, he was so kind and very welcoming. He engaged in casual conversation with me in the most comforting and friendly way. He was adorable and sweet. I was just looking around and seeing what they had and he acted like I was the most important customer. I had no intention of buying anything - since I was just window shopping that day, but I really wanted to support him and his business and ended up purchasing a very cute pair of elephant earrings. Since then I've seen Greg around and have come to find he's just a wonderfully kind man. You definitely want to check this place out. Anything. Seriously, ANYTHING. This is a high end boutique that offers locally created jewelry, glass, sculpture, pottery, wood stuffs, paintings, photographs, some furniture, and textiles. Attached to the shop are two more shops: 1. The Kitchen Sync - amazing kitchen store - gadgets, electrics, glassware, barware, tableware, cookbooks, tons of cool kitchen stuff, great for gifts. 2. Gallery 2 - the upstairs art gallery. Much of this is local art and some consignment. A couple other things... - Free gift wrapping. I wrapped SOOO many gifts in high school that I am totally a master at it now. I can make a seriously impressive bow with a couple feet of ribbon. Sweet. - Will ship your purchases anywhere you want. - If you see something you sort of like but not quite, say something to an employee and they will check if something more to your preference can be special ordered. - The bathroom is less than impressive and therefore supposedly for employees only, but if you ask the right person s/he will let you in it. Since Vermont does not have an Apple store or a Genius Bar, this is as close as we get! I was shocked to see negative reviews here, it really suggests a need for customer service training. Kindness and helpfulness go a long way to retaining customers. Patrick Brown himself is a very helpful guy, courteous, patient, and a straight-talker. I have bought my last 5 computers from him. On an unrelated note, I updated to Sequoia and the Find tool no longer finds anything. Zip, zilch, nada. This is CRAZY. Also I get a Bookmarks Syncing error message every 10 minutes with a long page of code that means nothing to me. Every day now since Sequoia -- 20 times a day -- It's awful. Wish Apple would admit Sequoia is a dog.
