The Wrightwood Salad was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The jalapeño margarita had a great smoky kick and just the right amount of heat. Our server was outstanding--attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. read more

I had a pretty good experience here. I got the STL style ribs (half) with a side of Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. I'm from St. Louis so I had high expectations for these ribs and they were good. They were a little on the dry side, but still tasty. My sweet potato fries were meh and not crispy at all. The Mac and cheese however was the star of the show in my opinion. They were so creamy and noodles cooked to perfection. I will definitely be getting that again. I was a little disappointed with service. The others in my party got the "Taste of daddy" platter, which allows you to choose two types of meats, but they ran out of one type and didn't ask them what they wanted instead they just gave them double of the same thing. Other than that I had a good experience. read more

We went here on a Thursday and had the pulled meat sandwich on special with sides. Everything was super quick and very good. Not to mention this is a stellar deal! We got to sit on the covered patio and it's a very casual vibe. read more

Smoke daddy is bringing the HEAT with delicious BBQ, beautiful ambiance, and amazing service. I tried the ribs and Mac and cheese- essentially the must haves for any BBQ feast. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and super juicy. The max and cheese was nice and creamy- highly recommend both. Also washed it down with a mango and habanero cider with a shot of mezcal. Our server was also super sweet and some of the best customer service I've gotten in a while. read more

The brunch here is phenomenal. But come hungry because it is so much delicious food (the bacon is to die for). Coming from the south, this is some of the best BBQ in the area. They also occasionally have live music. read more

Snagged same day dinner reservations on a Saturday. We were seated in their covered patio area and our server came over right away! We shared the smoked wings and they were tasty especially with whatever the dip was. We all ordered different meals : pulled chicken sandwich, fries, St. Louis style ribs, Mac and cheese, cornbread and the taste of daddy platter. Everything was tasty and filling. The Mac and cheese was okay. read more

Fantastic, flavorful, filling, fun!! Took my hubby here for date night and he's a bit of a BBQ snob. We are both blown away at the super tasty food and great service. The combo meal with additional yummy cornbread was the perfect amount for two hungry, tall people :-) Highly highly recommend, our favorite BBQ in the Chicago area so far!! read more

We had a large party for dinner tonight. Ruben took amazing care of us all night! He's the best!!! The food is delicious! We had a huge sampler platter of all their different smoked items and there was nothing I didn't love. Really good ribs and brisket. In particular, the cornbread is superb! I also very much enjoyed the banana pudding. I think we all rolled out of their because we were so full. Highly recommended! read more

Oh man, you can't beat the brunch menu and specials here. Everyone here is so attentive and food allergy aware. The visit was elevated to another level thanks to Caleb. Bottomless brunch? More like bottomless bust! We came with the hopes of having a bomb ass bottomless brunch and ended up leaving fuming with a bad taste in our mouth. They seated our party of 3 near two other big parties of about 10-12 people each. We felt neglected by our waiter who kept bringing drinks to the other two tables and would just ignore us. My partner waited 45 minutes for his first drink that we had to remind the waiter about twice. The waiter said their punch was out but they had just made a new batch and would be out in 5 minutes. It actually took 45 minutes, all the while we watched the waiter bring punch to the other larger tables though. So not sure what the issue was. Overall, miserable experience. The other larger tables were commandeering the space and were being given preferential treatment. The waiter ignored us and the other large tables kept taking up all the attention of the waiter so overall everyone there, the staff and other patrons were both treating us like we didn't exist and didn't matter. We ended up asking to pay for our items and cancelling the bottomless so we could just leave. We got 1-2 drinks each and never even got the brunch platter after an hour of being there. Won't be going back because we were treated like we didn't matter and service was awful. Maybe don't seat us near the largest parties in the restaurant if there's only one waiter in that section? Don't go here if you want to have a good experience. Brunch was bust. read more

We've been here for dinner, lunch, and brunch, and while they have all been good experiences, brunch has been by far my favorite! I think this is one of the best brunch deals you can get in Wicker Park. We got so much good food! Our favorites were the monkey bread and nachos (pictures added.) I loved being able to try the four different barbecue sauces on the table to see which paired best with our food (my fave is the mustard.) Service staff was attentive and nice. We sat out on the patio which was perfect for the nice spring day, and I love their big covered patio so a lot of people are able to enjoy the weather. Smoke Daddy brunch followed by a nice long walk around Wicker Park is hard to beat. read more

The food was ok, wasn't served as hot as I would have liked it to be but it was later in the night. I really liked their fries and while the max and cheese wasn't what I expected I wasn't made at it. The service was good, we walked in and was seated right by the front door which was very cold the night we dined in but we were moved to a warmer spot when we informed the hostess. read more

Noah made my day, great bar great waiter. Loved the vibes. We had a great time, he got every order correct.

The links had a strange odor and taste. The brisket was dry and tough, and the coleslaw tasted like it had spoiled. I mistakenly confused this place with Smoque Barbecue, which is far superior. I will never make that mistake again. read more

met my high BBQ standards! love the vibes, outdoor seating and decor. I tried the bloody mary which was really good and had unique embellishments, and the topo loco, also good. We got the daddy snacks and burnt end deviled eggs for appetizers. On the daddy snacks, we liked all of it except the jalapeño beer cheese. The deviled eggs were INCREDIBLE!!! We each got a platter & all together tried: ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends, brisket, cornbread, mac n cheese, cole slaw & beans. All of the meat was yummy and could've been enjoyed without BBQ sauce except for the pulled pork. The cornbread and coleslaw were my favorite sides. Our server was nice and brought out food and apps in a timely manner. Overall would def come back!! read more

I came to Smoke Daddy expecting a simple meal. A casual indulgence. A fleeting encounter with smoked meats and tangy sauces. But what I found... what I experienced... was nothing short of a spiritual awakening. The moment I stepped inside, the rich, smoky aroma wrapped around me like a long-lost lover, whispering promises of culinary ecstasy. My pulse quickened. My knees weakened. This was no ordinary barbecue joint. This was a cathedral of flavor, and I, an unworthy pilgrim. I ordered the ribs--because what is a life untested, if not a slow descent into mediocrity? And when that first bite touched my lips, time itself slowed. The meat--tender as a lover's touch--slid effortlessly from the bone, kissed by a smoky embrace so divine, I briefly questioned whether I had perished and ascended to the hallowed halls of barbecue Valhalla. The coleslaw? A crisp, refreshing interlude in my odyssey of indulgence. The mac and cheese? A molten river of decadence. And the cornbread... oh, the cornbread. If joy had a texture, it would be this. I left Smoke Daddy a changed person, my faith in humanity--no, in the very art of sustenance--restored. If you have not yet graced this establishment with your presence, you have not lived. Go. Now. And when you taste those ribs, know that I, too, have walked this path... and I welcome you to the light. read more

Smoke daddy is wonderful! I highly recommend their margs and hush puppies. Great patio atmosphere, even in the winter

Taste of the Daddy - choice of ribs and 2 smoked meats. Includes 2 sides. I went with St Louis Style Spare Ribs, Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork, Cole Slaw, and Cornbread. Pulled pork was very tender. The pork ribs and burnt ends were fatty which I liked but parts of the meat were dry. Cornbread was very dry. I could not taste the passion fruit in the passion fruit lemonade and it was a bit too sweet. The waiter offered to replace my drink at no additional cost. Very good customer service. read more

Listen, my kin is born and bred from Paris, TN so knowing good bbq is in my blood! Hopefully I have hyped that up enough so that I'm a trusted source for bbq lol. For me bbq is something you make with the soul and requires sooo much time and patience to curate. The meat needs to be tender, the greens need to have a kick, and the macaron and cheese needs to have a little something going on! With that being said.. I liked it but I didn't feel like I was transported to Memphis. We had the greens, ribs, pulled pork, and macaroni and cheese. She's a cute place for a day out on the patio with friends for drinks and BBQ, but don't set your expectations on it being the most life changing que of your life. Service is really attentive and the atmosphere is bright and fun overall. Ambiance 4/5 Food 3.5/5 Service 4.5/5 Overall impression 3.5/5 read more

Recently visited Smoke Daddy this past Saturday for lunch. Food was decent and the service was good until I received a notification that my card was charged for nearly $300 (our original bill was roughly $80). Which... for a college student, this took a big hit to my account. Upon the mistake, I was only met with the waitress and a verbal apology. It wasn't until I pulled aside a manager on my own that I was able to speak to one. I simply asked for, at the very least, a void receipt confirming that the transaction was terminated. I was still only given a verbal apology until I asked another manager for some help. After much back and forth I did receive a $25 gift card back to the same restaurant. I still have yet to receive the money back. I was given a business card for who I believe is the GM with only an email and name. I have tried contacting and am waiting for a response. read more

I've been coming to Smoke Daddy for a couple years now and it is a solid, reliable spot. Rib Tip Dinner: 8.5/10 The rib tips are tender, well seasoned and delicious. Even if you microwave them the next day, they are still fire. The fries were dry and pretty average but the cornbread with the dollop of butter was delicious! My favorite sides so far have been the collard greens and beans! Smoked Meat Platter: 8/10 My boyfriend always orders the meat platter and gets burnt ends and brisket. The Mac and cheese was okay and the sweet potato fries were crispy, pretty good. When I tried a piece of the brisket , I was shocked but how tender it was. Definitely not the best BBQ spot I've ever been to but a solid spot whenever I want something close by ! read more

Recently went to Smoke Daddy BBQ and had their weekend brunch. The ambiance was very comfortable even with my whole family. The server, Heron, came through with our order pretty quick. I highly recommend their local brews, matched well with our order. The brunch special had monkey bread, breakfast Nachos, and all the breakfast favorites with a wide selection of lunch options.
