top tier service from Zoey! she was the best for our brunch and my friends birthday so special!

Really great BBQ! We ordered online and everything went smoothly. Good service. Looking forward to stopping there to dine in.

I ordered Taste of Daddy, smoked wings and banana pudding from the Wicker Park location today to try it out for the first time. I was excited to eat my meal and finish with the pudding. Smoked Wings Great flavor and still moist in the inside. I recommend this! Sides (Coleslaw and Greens) Coleslaw side was barely half-way filled. Flavor was ok. Greens were completely filled all the way up, but flavor was ok as well. Banana Pudding HORRIBLE! I'm not sure if someone is new to the kitchen, but I literally got a scoop of yellow budding and three slices of banana. Where's the vanilla wafer cookies? I am not going back to this place. read more

I've eaten at BBQ places all over the world but this is one of the tops. Burnt ends were caramelized with smokey goodness. Pulled pork was moist and tasty with a nice dollop of original bbq sauce. The coleslaw , oh the coleslaw! Loved it so much I took home a quart for my dinner guest crew. Even had some pickles on the side, which are not available in one of the other big names Chi-BBQ favorite places. Bbq baked beans were appointed with some meat trimmings which is always a bonus. Sweet and smokey. None of those weird beans that those gourmet bbq places do. Good stuff. Let me show you what I really thought. See pics. read more

As a first timer, I decided to go with the sampler so I can get a taste of all the slow cooked options. The meat, imbued with smokey flavor topped with bbq sauce, came right off the bones. For sides, I got coleslaw and macaroni and cheese. The coleslaw was light and refreshing, which complemented the entree well. However, although the macaroni was decent on its own, it made my mouth thirst for more water. I should have ordered a glass of beer to go with the meal because the meat can be a bit dry since it's smoked(?) - especially the outer part of the ribs that has no bones, it was dry and hard to swallow. I had to wash it down with water after each bite. Don't get me wrong, I still like dish overall - that's why I finished everything, cleaned to the bones. For dessert, I got the homemade key lime pie, even the whip cream was freshly made. I have to say I was more impressed with the pie than the main course. It was not too sweet but yet the subtle citrucy had my palate hungry for more. It was perfect. If I didn't end my meal with the dessert, I would have given 4 stars. However, this outstanding key lime pie blew me away. In addition, the staffs provided phenomenal service. I felt their genuineness to ensure my dining experience was nothing less than spectacular. I'll be back to try the sandwitches and the other two desserts when I come back to Chicago. See you in late September! read more

Very disappointing! I have had great Texas, Memphis and North Carolina style BBQ. This restaurant misses and you can't really tell what style they were going for. The smoked brisket and pulled pork were bland. The sandwich does not come with Cole slaw like the menu says. The sides were horrible. The greens were bland steamed spinach like rubbery greens. The beans were spicy but too saucy. The Mac n cheese was totally bland and no creaminess of cheese anywhere. The sweet potato fries were soggy. All in all, a complete disappointment and I would not order from this place again! They also failed to send my two canned drinks that I ordered. read more

Here from out of town and was walking down division and saw the restaurant and stopped. The outdoor eating was very nice. I had a two meat platter of pork and brisket. I think the chicken and pork would've been a better way to go. The cornbread was outstanding and I really like the coleslaw read more

I just received my order and am extremely disappointed. They promote a family order for 4-6 people that barely would serve two adults. The meat portions were tiny compared to the sides which were adequate. They give you a huge bag of rolls which is out or proportion to the rest of the meal, but bread is cheap. An extra item of cornbread for $6 is highway robbery. This is ridiculous if you really want repeat business. I will never order from here again. read more

BBQ was pretty good, can't give it five stars (I come from the land of real BBQ in TX). Would really like someone to take me back for a shot at this brunch that sounds absolutely unreal. Any takers? After visiting the restaurant a few times I gotta say I absolutely love it. Being from Texas I'm picky with my BBQ but they do a really great job. The BBQ sauces they offer are delicious. I get the the freak sandwich for lunch a lot. The Smooe corned beef is 10/10. They have a nice little patio as well if you don't mind the road noise:) read more

The food is always fantastic, the atmosphere on game days is incredible, and the service is top notch!

Cute bbq spot in wicker park. We were there in a Sunday morning, and they had live music. It's a little loud if you're sitting just in front of the artist, but in the other rooms the volume is good! I'm from Texas, so it's hard for me to rave about bbq unless I'm in love, but smoke daddy is a cute place to meet people for drinks and just to explore Wicker. read more

Amazing BBQ, open for takeout! Split the Big City Eats meal with a couple friends. Plenty of food for three people. Ribs are melt in your mouth good and the two sauces provided a nice contrast. Mac and cheese had a little nice kick (could have been the sauce) and the brisket and pulled pork were great as well. Lived up to all the great reviews! read more

I used to live near Smoke Daddy when it first opened. The neighborhood was way different back then. And not just demographics. There were huge sinkholes in the sidewalk on Division before 1996, that I'm sure led to some kind of Masonic Underground Daley Payola Gold Mine. When Smoke Daddy opened, it was exciting, but also signaled the end of Dirty Division, which had its charm too. Maybe that's why I've stayed away from Smoke Daddy for so long. I resent it, in a way. A recent visit kind of slapped me out of my petty ways (a good restaurant, like a good woman, can do that for you). And I'm so thankful. Division is now a prime street for dining Al Fresco, and the Smoke Daddy has tons of outdoor real estate, seating should not be a problem. Awesome. The Pulled Pork sandwich was excellent. The server who brought out the food was super friendly, and she explained the three different hot sauces on the table. Each was better than the next and just as good as the last! Smokey dark, red with a zing of vinegar, and a sweet mustard-based sauce were all excellent to put on a sandwich that already had a great sauce, and also to dip the sweet potato fries in. Top it off with a good selection of beers, and you can't beat if for BBQ cravings on Division. I'm hoping Smoke Daddy is a mistress I can visit often, and not need to be slapped again. Unless I ask, of course. read more

Hidden fee however the food is fine. I won't be back. 3% fee? For what? Because they can? Go to Smoque instead like I plan to do the next time read more

Great Chicago BBQ at great prices. This location is much smaller than their Wrigleyville spot, but it still had a comfortable "southern BBQ meets sports bar" vibe. We sat outside and the music venue next door happened to have a live jazz band playing outside, so we were able to get the best of both worlds with that. The cornbread was some of the best I've had (anywhere - including outside of Chicago). The hot BBQ sauce wasn't very "hot" but the other three options were all very good and fit their descriptions perfectly (my favorite was the sweet and smokey). The meats themselves were well cooked for an upper midwest BBQ joint, and I had no issues with anything we ordered. It may not be Memphis or KC level BBQ, but I'll definitely come back! read more

My sister crashed our Saturday of doing chores and said we have to go try The Smoke Daddy. Being nice weather, I agreed to head to the city. It was evidently a Puerto Rican holiday or parade as there was crazy noise and busy streets all down Division from 90. Found parking a few blocks away from TSD on a side street. We tossed around a few ideas, but we ended up ordering nachos with pulled chicken and pulled pork and a smoked chicken soup to start. I wasn't feeling that great, so I skipped ordering my entree because I was pretty satisfied by the soup and nachos. The nachos were pretty decent. The soup on the other hand was a mixture of dark and white meat pulled chicken. The black stuff that is sometimes near the bone (i believe blood) was very noticeable in my bowl of soup---kinda a turn off. A lot of onions, and tomatoes- almost like a gumbo. The taste was great. The meat in my bowl....not my fav. My boyfriend ordered a pulled pork sandwich and fries. I didn't actually taste anything, but it looked very good and he consumed most of it. My sister got a burger with beautiful thick cut strips of bacon. I think she was a little displeased with the well-done-ness of her medium ordered burger. All in all, a fun place to eat, decent food, and fun memorabilia (such as, T-shirts that say "Ribs, For Her Pleasure") to purchase and take home with you (we did). I find it likely that we will return, but I know of a few other places I would like to try first. read more

Amazing barbecue, desserts were also awesome and the staff was also great! Highly recommend checking this place out!

This place was just "meh". I would never go back to it and would suggest my friends to go to Chicago Q or Bub City or Green street Meats for BBQ instead. This was the first place where I ordered mac and cheese and did not want to finish the entire bowl. It wasn't good. The sliders weren't anything to really talk about either. The service was okay and the waitress was nice. The live music was way too loud on one side of the bar so we were happy we were at least able to sit further away from the noise. All in all, this place is just over hyped. read more

In 32 words: tough meat, overly salty, liquidy mac 'n cheese, but garlic-y and good collard greens! Sauces tasted woody and flat. Jalapeno beer cheese could have used more kick and beer, but good starter. Overall, skip this one and try out Smoque and Chicago Q BBQ. read more

A very middle-of-the-road BBQ joint. I showed up around 11 on a Thursday night and was seated promptly. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with fries and a side of cornbread. The chicken was decent, but relatively flavorless. I sampled each of their three sauces and doused my sandwich liberally. I wish the bun had been toasted. The fries had no real seasoning on them, which was disappointing. The cornbread was fine, but unremarkable. Service was standard. For better barbecue, I suggest hitting Q BBQ on Diversey. That's some killer meat right there... read more

This review is not about the restaurant but about their catering service. I had their food at company mtg. on 7/31 and wanted to have them cater another lunch on 8/14. First of all, the food is great . The issue I had was after my initial conversation/email with their caterer on 7/25, the only communication I received was on 8/1 to say we could talk live on 8/2 to discuss. I called the catering mgr. on 8/2 but didn't get an answer. I left a message and sent an email but still no response. From 8/5 to 8/9 I sent emails and voice messages but still no response. I even called the restaurant and talked to one of the managers. He said he would forward my messages to the catering but still no response. Finally on 8/9 I decided to spend my $1000 with another caterer who was very responsive. I guess Smoke Daddy didn't need my business. read more

I ordered through GrubHub and the brisket was terrible! However, the mac and cheese is great so I gave the food a 3.

I would say I'm relatively familiar with BBQ. I lived in Texas for 7 years, and I know Texans care about their BBQ. I don't consider myself picky as long as it's well seasoned. I ordered the St. Louis ribs with a side of sweet potato fries and cornbread. The ribs were okay. They were well seasoned, but I wish they were more moist, like off the bone. The cornbread was a tad dry, and the sweet potato fries were delicious (you can't go wrong with those). Overall, not too bad. I wouldn't mind ordering food from here again. read more

best restaurant in wrigleyville! delicious bbq and well priced. Extremely lovely staff

We recently moseyed on in for a weekday lunch. My two friends have been many times before, and they were shocked I had yet to try Smoke Daddy. I was excited by their shock, and was eager to grab a table. First things first, we needed a slice of Key Lime pie. While I know this is not a normal week day lunch starter, we had no choice. We needed a slice of Key Lime ASAP. As well as a round of Bell's Oberon. A beer made for summer days. It's been a mild summer this year, and we were enjoying the crisp, skin burning sun. Everything was perfect. The pie arrived before we placed our lunch orders and we just dug in. Damn. That was a good slice of pie. Perfect, classic Key Lime. You cannot go wrong with that flavor profile. Acidic, tangy, sweet and creamy with a perfect graham cracker crust. Smoke Daddy's pie delivered, which got me excited about my BBQ! I ordered the smoked meat combo which offered two choices. I focused on the KC Style burnt ends and the Pauliana Market Hot link. I also ordered the slaw and mac & cheese. We also ordered a "not your father's rootbeer" which is an intense 10% smack to the liver. Very nice. Anyways, my food was seriously good. The mac & cheese was dense and delicious, and my slaw featured unexpected jalapeno and cilantro notes. The BBQ was really really good! Not perfect, but like... dictionary perfect for BBQ. We ended with the crazy, baked in cast iron skillet chocolate cookie with ice cream on top and holy mother of god that I don't believe in... it was insane. SO GOOD. read more

Love the name of this place! Smoke daddy is nice bbq spot down divison. Last year I went to Texas, and I must say they have some of the best BBQ down there for sure. But here in Chicago there a plenty of decent options as well, unfortunately this is not one of them. I got the "Taste of Daddy" which came with ribs and 2 meats. I went with ribs, brisket, and burnt ends. The ribs and cornbread were good. I felt the brisket was too lean, needed some fat, and burnt ends were not burnt enough lol. The meats were kind of underseasoned as well. Overall its a good meal, I mean is there a such thing as bad bbq. If your in this neighborhood this could be a great choice. Although for me Green St Meats, Smoque, and even Lillie Q's are better bets. read more

The environment of the place was pretty good. The selection of beer was good. That said, my wife's pulled pork and brisket were actually a little bit cold. Also, the service was a somewhat slow. However, the staff was very nice. The smoke wings were the best wings i have ever had in my entire life. Overall, it was a decent night out, but not a great night out. read more

Fast service, good food.... On my last order on 3/13, the fries were cold, I didn't bother to call and complain.

This was our first time at Smoke Daddy. I got the sliced brisket and burnt ends. Solid BBQ. My only real drawback was I wasn't a fan of the sauce that came on the meat. Had I'd known in advance, I would've asked them to leave it off. The sweet sauce on the table was outstanding though. Our server (I forget her name, but she was Australian) was super friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be back. PS. Wife got a Bloody Mary. She said it was really good. She doesn't drink beer so I got the pony bottle of The Champagne of Beers which was very nostalgic for me. read more

Love Smoke Daddy!! best food and drink selection. They were great during the bar crawl.

loveee this place! Such a great ambiance and good vibes here! would 100% come back. Their drinks are so good and the workers are so nice.

Overall this was a good experience. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean and spacious, and the food was great. However, I did feel that the portion sizes were a little smaller than I expected. They do have a variety of bbq options and it's a great neighborhood spot. I would definitely go back! read more

The waitress was attentive and pleasant. I did notice a couple other waitresses had their own personal introduction but the waitress for my table only asked about ordering food or drink...no intro‍. The bartender was very nice though. Service was pretty good. No major complaints I did go solo and forgot to pay the meter. I asked the waitress if she could help me out by getting the number for me so I don't abandon my food. Not sure what happened but I was given the wrong number....I pray I don't get a ticket. read more
