Friendly, fast, professional. Drove my car from the Bay Area to Modesto to put the hundred miles on it so I can get a smog check. Of course I checked on Yelp first and this place is was very near by where I spent the night. Left happy read more

Diesel owners beware! I own a F250 7.3 diesel. First of all my registration called for a star station inspection, which they aren't and didn't read that on my renewal. He asked if the truck was stock, which I told him it was. The exhaust is not stock but is exempt because there is no catalytic converter. He did the test anyway and failed it because of the exhaust. He charged me full price for the test. I went to a smog referee to appeal the failed test and was told they were wrong, as they cited the wrong section/code to fail it. I went to another test station and passed easily. They do not know diesel trucks here so I would not use this shop. read more

I needed a quick smog done on a Saturday (3/21/20) and had no appointment. Not a problem for them, they were able to get me in and out in 20ish minutes. **Extremely polite and personable staff**. I live in very north Modesto but I will still be taking all my cars to Smoggy Smog from now on. Smoggy Smog: You delivered timely, quality service while being polite and respectful = You have earned my permanent business. Please don't change! Other businesses should pay close attention to what I just wrote because deep down inside, this is what every customer wants/needs to keep doing business with you. Edit: I forgot to mention that Tommy was the person I dealt with and his demeanor was very professional and courteous. Thank you Tommy! read more

I've used this guy for multiple vehicles that I've purchased and sold. Thanks for your honesty and professional work man!

Very professional, fast and efficient place. Staff was very polite and friendly. He even did some traffic control for me so I could safely back out of his driveway on Yosemite when I left. Price is as very reasonable. Highly recommend Smoggy Smog! read more

I had my vehicle's smog check completed today at this business and they far exceeded my expectations - First, I didn't have an appointment but only had to wait about 10 minutes - Second, it was the shortest wait I have ever had for a smog check - and Third, the service was exceptional! Tommy (the owner and technician) was fast, friendly and thorough - my vehicle overheated during the check (because of an ongoing issue not related to the smog check) and Tony was kind enough to check my engine out and gave me some ideas for why it was overheating - he even made sure I kept my car parked (engine off) until it was safe enough for me to drive it home - highly recommend this business if you ever need a smog check. read more
