They told me the regular price but offered $55 out the door if I came right then, so of course I pulled up. The service requested was a smog check, and honestly this was probably the easiest one I've ever done. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. The quality of the work was great and everything felt quick, organized, and professional. Bella and the staff was super nice and friendly, which makes a big difference when you're just trying to knock out errands on a busy day. Due to the people in the waiting area, I thought it would take awhile but within 20 minutes my car passed smog and was ready. They send my certificate to DMV for me so I know it will get there. They're OK for a smoke shop on the east side of town. Nothing special about them. they are fair price and they are pretty quick.

I took my Rv into AA smog shop for a routine smog check. I was the only customer there at the time(should've realized that was the first bad sign). After waiting a while I hear something revving up like someone was clearing a jet boat motor of water. I realized it was my Rv. Not only did they redline the hell out of my motor, as I walk around the corner I hear one of the employees yelling to the other one "IT'S STILL NOT FAILING" holding a gas cap in his hand. I asked them if something was wrong? One responds yes your Rv failed but passed emission, number one how does it pass emissions and still fail? He told me because one of the hose clamps to the carburetor was disconnected. I then asked them to show me what hose they were talking about and they kept shining me on and were trying to dismiss my request making excuses that they are only inspectors and can't work on the vehicle (whatever that meant). After finally showing me what hose they were talking about I got a closer look and realized it was all BS because the hose was still installed properly. They then dismissed my concerns once again and tried changing the reason why it failed to another intake hose that had electrical tape on it. I had to use tape because the oem elbow piece was cracked and it's a specialty part to order and hard to come by. They argued with me for almost 20 minutes and then tried accusing me of putting the other hose back on myself. Number one my Rv was running for an hour at that point so imagine how hot the motor was, I am not sticking my hands in the cramped location the hose was in just to get 3rd degree burns. One of the employees then started threatening letting the state ref handle it first saying they'll give you a 500 dollar coupon to get it fixed and they'll send me back to them to get it smogged all over again even though it already passed emissions. THIS WAS ABOUT MONEY. I already spent 150+ dollars there for the smog and they fail my vehicle because of a piece of tape when all I had to do was remove the piece of tape for them, I EVEN OFFERED TO DO IT RIGHT THEN AND THERE IT WOULD TAKE 2 seconds! They said they couldn't and to take it up with the ref, subtly telling me to F myself. So in reality they saw a 68 year old old man and thought I would be an easy target to swindle. Of course they want to fail it because they get money from the ref (the 500$ coupon I mentioned) to fix the issue and re-smog it, so a 20 dollar part (the plastic elbow that was cracked) and they keep the rest of the 500. Bottom line is these guys were extremely disrespectful and cannot be trusted. I literally walked in on them trying to manipulate the test forcing ba failed result. Then proceeded to accuse me of tampering with the hose in a matter of 2 seconds. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST they will steal your money, and are dishonest, rude people. This place "SUCKS!" It's unorganized and nasty/dirty! I went there to get a re-test. They already had my money! The place opens up at 9:00am, I showed up at 9:15am. Supposedly the owner left his car parked in one of the service bays, with no key to move i. "OH", by the way, it was the bay with the smog testing machine. BUYER BEWARE! They're hell bent on failing you. Came here for smog and the guy failed me me for non-smog related things. One, guy says there's a small duck tape on one of the lines, but didn't bother to check if there was actual leak. I got home removed tape. No leak. He could have just done that. Only took two seconds for me to do. Second, dinged me for rewired radiator fan relay. He said it's in smog manual. Got home, checked state smog manual. Manual only states to check for proper functionality. I checked, well, radiator fan functions and runs when it needs to. Yup, it's the old shady mechanic trick of bullcrapping the customer so you end up coming back and paying more. Save yourself some money and headache and go somewhere else trustworthy. From here I will be filing complaint to BBB and state bureau of automotive repair. For the sake of customers, I think shady swindlers shouldn't be allowed to do business then this world would be a better place... UPDATE: Got it re-smog at American Smog in Oakdale. PASSED. The only fix I did was remove the duck tape and explained that I did the relay modification and that it didn't alter the proper functioning of the fan. Plus they only charged me $40 for a pass while this crappy place changed me $62.05 for fail test that shouldn't have been if only they know what they were doing. read more

I've been here for the last 3 times that I needed to smog for renewal. They have always been courteous and their service has been fast. They have an air conditioned waiting area which is a plus in the summer out here. The seats are comfortable and it's pretty quiet. read more

This has to be the worst smog shop in Stanislaus county. I took my vehicle in to get a smog test, they pulled my truck into the shop for less than 5 minutes. Then some guy comes into the waiting room to tell me my " check engine light " DOESN'T work so it' s gonna fail..... Not that it failed but it's GONNA fail.... And then he charged me $60 when they didn't even test it.... Then the young guy tells me " I don't make the prices i just work here " like he is supposed to be cool with me or something.... Him and the owner got me twisted... Please do take your vehicle or even support this place unless you just want to throw your hard earned money away because these guys have no problem taking it . I suggest you go to a more honest place like ( speedway smog center, 141 E Orangeburg Modesto Ca. Speedway is a nice honest place so take your car or truck there. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE DMV AND THE BBB about the shady business that AA smog is doing. read more

I have gone here twice and the level of service is Good. the kid at the front desk is kinda quit but trys to help you in every way he can. one car i smoged did not pass and they told my my gas cap was leaking and told me where to buy it for the best price. The smog tech is friendly and will explain anything you ask him. but if your looking for him to smog a unsmogable car. think again. there very up on the law and will not do a illigal smog and my hats off to them for that. Now I gave them 5 stars because there fast, honest, and the last time i went, there machine broke down and they could not smog. i was waiting for about an hour and they felt bad. so they gave me a discount if i came back the next day. I came in on a Wednesday. The sign said they closed at 530pm, and I showed up at 515pm. I asked the man, Eric, if he had time to check my Jetta. He looked at the time and said that they could. I had a coupon, so it cost me a total of only $36. He told me it would only take 15 minutes, but it actually took less than 10. I regularly go here for a smog - they are also usually quick. Although my cars usually pass, if they don't they are willing to take the time to explain what is wrong/needs to be fixed (unlike other outfits). They are also very friendly and offer beverages to waiting customers. read more

Went to get my moms car smog yesterday. Service was nice and fast. The price they quoted me over the phone and the price the guy said when I was in there was about a $15 difference (more of course) which I kindly said I was quoted a difference price over the phone. The guy went to check with his boss. Came back with an attitude and wasn't very upbeat like before gave me the paperwork to sign then started to text someone. When I was done I kindly waited. Wasn't till like 1 min later did he realize I was done signing (I kind of got irritated and slammed the pen down) then he noticed that i was done then took the paper and told me to sit down. My car battery is new and they put my car not pass and charge full price. They told me drive back 100 mile to come back If pass will be no charge.
