After going to another shop that was too busy I came here. Luckily there was no wait (was also a Monday afternoon). Got a friendly greeting and a smog check on my new (out of state purchase) vehicle. Price was reasonable and I hear they accept coupons from other Smog shops... If you need a smog, stop in. read more

These folks are experts in the craft of smog checking. Whether your vehicle is old or new, you can't go wrong with this team. They are extremely efficient and have several bays to work on multiple cars at a time. The staff was professional and highly communicative through the entire process. The price was fair for the high quality experience. I felt like I went "back to the future" when dealing with such a high quality service provider. Two thumbs up! read more

Service requested was completed perfectly. The quality of this place is top-notch. The value of service and friendliness and knowledge is something I would hold close to me and come back to this place for my needs. The smog test only experience was no more than 20 minutes and I believe they do value military discounts and first responder discounts as well for services rendered. Highly recommend these guys for any of your service needs. read more

I've been here multible times over last 15 years. Today, Terrible service, I arrive at 1:15. Attendant sez tech is at lunch, come back in 30 minutes. I do. He asks me, what do you need? I say smog check. He sez I don't like your attitude, I don't want your business. Never going there again. read more

Kevin and Colen were great and will be a returning customer! The place was busy when I arrived, but they stayed patient and never made me feel rushed. On top of that, they were professional, efficient, and genuinely friendly the whole time -- even with how hot it was out, they never let it show in their service. Quick, easy, and a great experience overall. Highly recommend! read more

My initial contact with this establishment was over the phone. I wanted to make an appointment but I was told that no appointments were required. From Cal Lutheran University the distance is 6.7 miles (about a 15 minute drive) unfortunately due to city construction it took me almost 30 minutes to get there, but once I got there I was happy I went. The establishment is clean, lost of equipment to properly test vehicles, location is spacious to sit around and wait for your car. The process was explained to me by the guest service manager (it is my personal opinion that she was delightful and helpful) It took about 15 minutes to get the certificate for my car. This is a family owned business, therefore it was obvious to me that the owner Colen Neal takes pride in his work and pride in his business. He has over 30 years experience so he knows his stuff. I paid under $50.00 for the inspection and certificate. PLEASE NOTE, I do not know if prices vary depending on the year of your car, so please ask what the price will be for your vehicle. Overall great service, based on my personal experience I do fully recommend Smog Test Only Center! read more

The owner was super friendly and I had great conversation with him. He was telling me about some of the cool cars he just saw in the shop the other week. It took about maybe 15 minutes for my smog check when he pulled my car into the shop. I had a coupon from online and i only had to pay $50. I know a bunch of people that go to this shop and I'll definitely be coming back and recommending any of my other friends that need a smog check to come here. read more

the guy was really grumpy. i think he was trying to project efficiency but came off as if he was too busy to take the time to earn my business. he ended up just failing the car because a light code had not been reset by my mechanic despite having been resolved. wish the operator had told me first because all i had to do was get a quick code reset. instead after clearing code, i was required to drive for 100 miles, only to be charged again for a retest. read more

This neighborhood spot to get a smog test is still great. It was a busy Friday when I came without an appointment and they took care of me. I was in and out in 30 mins and I got a discount as well. They have a nice waiting area but I decided to talk on the phone outside and not disrupt the other guest quietly waiting. My car passed the smog test and it's the third car I've brought in over the years. Glad it all worked out and they took care of the paper work to the DMV. read more

It's a Saturday and I believe it was the owner that answered the phone. I got there and the gal at the desk was very kind and helpful. They close at 2pm on Saturday's so of course I got there as soon as I could. It took under 15 mins for the entire inspection. I was done about 1:30pm and there were several cars trying to get smogged before they close. I am recommending this place! Quick, thorough, friendly, convenient and professional. read more

Quick. Price exactly as quoted. Handled my car nicely and kept it clean. What more could you ask for in a smog?

I own a problematic 2022 Ram 2500 with a 6.7 liter Cummins motor. These folks were patient and helpful in getting this truck to eventually pass the tests. I won't go anywhere else, now. ( Get there early because I'm not the only fan of this center ) read more

Clean, reliable, been coming here for years! Good deals and $20 off with check-in !!!!!

I needed a smog check and certification. Honest and great service! Friendly staff and great price! Thank you!

We came here on a Saturday at 2:30PM for a smog check and got here right on time before they closed. Our car was taken in right away and they were done with the check in less than 30 minutes. This is the closest smog test center to Newbury Park that is open on a Saturday. Customer service is excellent! They were responsive over the phone and the staff was very friendly in person. Will definitely come back! read more

I called and found that they don't take reservations. But when I arrived there was zero wait. They were SUPER fast, super friendly, less expensive than anywhere else I could find, and they had a waiting area with chairs. (Plus, they were playing Faith no More on the radio, which I love!) read more

They run a scam where they try to tell you a cleared check engine light causes a battery problem. This is most likely so that you'll buy a new battery from their buddies in the adjacent shop. A classic scam, but one i haven't seen in a while. It makes sense to run it in a nice town like Thousand Oaks where most people don't repair their own cars regularly. read more

I needed a smog check fast. I went ahead and checked in, for a great deal on a quick whim. The best part is the service with a smile experience. The young lady who checked me out was very sweet and very professional. Very clean practices too. Owner is to the point, friendly and informative. I was in and out in less than minutes with a thorough SMOG CHECH Report. I am impressed and definitely recommend this if your tag renewals are up soon and you are pressed for your time. There are also other auto shops on the property so you can get multiple issues out of the way without having to run around town looking for a mechanic.... read more

And I emailed a few on yelp and Colen emailed me back instantly with the best deal in town I could find, only $44 and that's with the certificate. They were incredibly fast and efficient, we were in and out in 15 minutes and that's with people that were ahead of us too. Bring cash as they do charge a small fee for using debit cards.
