I brought three of my vehicles to his shop, and in two cases I spent a significant amount of money without getting proper results. On my Honda Pilot, the engine mounts were replaced, about a year later I was told it was the same issue again and that there was no warranty. I don't drive the vehicle excessively, so this raised a serious concern for me. The bigger issue was with my Ford Transit. I took it in three separate times for the same problems, a coolant leak, AC not working, and noticeable vibrations. Across those visits, I paid over $3,000, yet none of the issues were resolved. In the end, I had to take it to the dealership, where they properly diagnosed the problem, costing me an additional $2,500. It's disappointing to lose trust in a service I relied on for so many years. I hope they improve their quality and accountability moving forward.

If you're looking for an honest, highly skilled mechanic, S & M Automotive is outstanding and checks so many boxes! I come down from Ventura to see "Shady", and his name couldn't be more ironic, because there's nothing shady about him or his work. He's been maintaining my 2005 Lexus SC430 and has saved me a boatload of money on repairs and maintenance over the years. He's respectful, friendly, and clearly takes pride in getting things right. My most recent service made the car run like it did when it was new. I read many positive reviews on Bennett Automotive so decided to give them a try to see for myself and I'm glad to report that all of the positive reviews were spot on. They took my car in the next day and were very, very thorough in their inspection and even included pictures of each issue in my Jeep Patriot. I like that they do most of the transactions via text including accepting or declining the repairs recommended. They didn't pressure me on having to get any if the repairs done but was honest about which ones needed to be done right away and which ones could be held off on. Their cost was reasonable and was able to get the repairs done ahead of schedule. I'll be coming back to Bennett Automotive again for my other cars for sure!
