If you have an older car, do not go to this guy!! Actually, just don't go here regardless of the age of your car!! Not sure what happened to this place, but it's awful now! I've used this place for over 20 years with nothing but great service and knowledge. Now, Smog tech is a complete pompous jerk. He thinks he knows everything about cars and will try to find anything wrong with your car that he can. He will try to claim things are broken or wrong that are not, then argue with you even after you prove it is right. His knowledge of older cars and smog laws affecting them is dismal at best. I watched him check the late model car in front of me, and you'd think he was doing formula one race car inspection. Not sure what his objective is since they no longer do repairs there. Maybe trying waste peoples time and cash in on recheck fees. I guess he is just trying to pump up his ego and be a A$$. Terrible service. Took my work vehicle for a smog check. No check engine lights, no issues, routine smog for registration purposes. All systems pass but he had me remove the dog house cover in the van so he could visually inspect the engine. Some oil had dripped on the fuel injector rails and he called it a fuel leak. It was clearly oil. I had to take it to a mechanic and have him confirm then come back and wait over an hour for him to process the paperwork and remove the fuel leak reporting to get a passing grade. Took my SUV here on a Saturday. I was grateful they were open because it was the only time I was available. The gentleman that helped me was very kind and professional. I took my kiddos and he gave an estimated time the smog check would take. I was impressed at his level work ethic, as he worked simultaneously on two vehicles. He then backed up my vehicle for me in the shade so my children could wait, while he completed the paperwork. The whole process took about 25 minutes and the price was very reasonable. Do not come here for your Smog, the name is not accurate to the experience. I have a 2013 Nissan, I maintain and keep it running well. I come from a family of mechanics, so I had no doubts my car would pass. This time around, I just decided to go with something convenient, just pop in, get it done when I have some spare time, and move on. Because again, there was no way my car wouldn't pass. Now I was very surprised when the guy told me the O2, Fuel System, and Catalyst weren't ready to be read... because I haven't had any code clears, no battery failures, nothing that would reset my cars computer. But you know what, I'll bite, ok I'll drive around 150 miles and come back; sometimes readers can be finicky... no dice. After a week and driving 150 miles same three systems not ready. Now that's some bullshit, so I went home, got my own OBD2 scanner out and checked my car right after... all systems are ok, but NOT ONLY THAT, I noticed on my form that he marked N/A for EVAP.. my car has an EVAP. So now I have a theory, and I'm going to test it, I go to the highest-rated smog place on Yelp, and pull up the same day for a smog test... my car passed. I did nothing to my car, no change, just read it to check (didn't clear codes obviously), and then went to a different place and got it done. I am now out around $50 from this scam as he still wanted payment for testing, and he said he would bill me an extra $20 when he finished the scan and got me the paperwork. Hell no was I having him touch my car again. I want my money back for the wasted time, wasted stress, and wasted money on these SmogAmatures. Either this guy doesn't know what he's doing or he has bad equipment. And if that's the case he should notice and replace it. read more

This place blows. Massive rip off. Dude does 3 minute evaluation tells you the vehicle failed, takes 50$ from you emphasizing that he cut you a break of 8$ because your car didn't pass. Then he tells you to get your car repaired and bring it back and "I will only charge you 20$ to test it again." So I leave with 50$ less than I drive in with and the bonus of an engine light that is now on that wasn't on when I drove in. Place is a scam, stay away. Had an encounter with the new smog guy, His customer service is very poor. and to yell at a customer is very poor service.
