Wonderful guy! I was referred to him by a friend and had a great experience. I needed a smog check for a client's vehicle, and the entire process was quick, easy, and professional. He got me in and out in less than 30 minutes. It's always nice to find someone who values your time and provides great service. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a smog check. read more

Quick, easy and cheaper than most other smog places I've been to. This place can get really busy but he does get you in and out of there pretty quickly and will take you in order of your arrival so be sure to let him know when you get there. read more

Slightly hard to find, go into the archway to the right of O'Reilly Auto Parts. He told me how long it would take. I came back early and overheard his discussion with an Asian lady about why her car had failed and took her to her car to show what needed fixing and suggested Preferred Auto which is next door which I use ! I rate him highly. Coupons available via smogtips so it was $59 read more

Brought my 2016 BMW in the other day for a smog test. Quick and friendly service! I will definitely continue to come back as needed.

Smog check on a moments notice? No problem. Slightly hard to find, but well worth it. Fast , efficient and very pleasant people. It's a no grills business, so don't expect an air-conditioned waiting room, but you'll be in and out so fast it won't matter. I for one, will be using them exclusively from now on. read more

I've used Discount Smog for my last several smog checks. Sam knows his stuff. He spotted a looming issue for me (an error code) and told me up front that the error could affect the ability of my car to pass the test. I'm not a gambler. Sam first said the chances were 50-50 and then thought about it. He then said that the car would probably pass. I agreed to roll the dice. It passed. I appreciate Sam's work and expertise. He was less expensive than the competitors from what I could tell. read more

Wow! Excellent service! Darius is such a kind man. I arrived at 5:30 not knowing that this place closed at 5:30 & Darius was outside hosing things off when I asked him if this was unit 5A. He said yes but let me know that he was already closed and if I could come back tomorrow I said yes and as I was getting ready to pull away he said you know what never mind pull your car in and I'll do the smog check for you! He is so kind and didn't have to do this for me but he really went the extra mile and I appreciate him so much! Great price! Probably the best price in the area to get your car STAR smog certified. Quick, efficient and had a nice chat with Darius! Thank you discount smog for the great service! They do a fantastic job! Super quick and very professional. The two that run the place have a great vibe. One time, I had just done a fix that had my check engine light on, after fixing the issue and replacing a part, clearing the code, now check engine light off, I go to smog it here. I let the guy know, and he checked for free, that I needed to drive the car more. He gave me advice to drive it in a certain way too, to hit around 200 miles but it had to be real, stopping, reversing, here and there. They I couldn't just drive to Santa Barbara and back. After leaving and doing that, a month later, I came back and had them smog my car. Pass! I then brought a second car here a few months later and it passed as well. In and out in 30 minutes around 2:30pm. read more

Discount Smog - Auto Repair Near Me - Thousand Oaks, California

I have used Discount Smog on numerous occasions. Always same day excellent service. Highly recommend them.

Rounding up from what would otherwise be a 3.5 Star review. Darius (?) appeared to be hustling and did a semi-admirable job but seemed to be trying his best. "A for effort." An "average C" for efficiency. Being likable got me giving the extra half star that Yelp doesn't allow us to account for. NOT at all what I had come to expect but I'll probably give Discount Smog another shot when the DMV comes calling again. read more

When I arrived Sam was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Price is very good and this is a smog only station and not a mechanic so there is no kind of sales pitch or pressure about other services. Thank you Sam I will definitely be back. read more

This place can get very busy so I recommend going in early. There was one person ahead of me and I waited about 15 minutes. There were two people who came after me and the person who worked there and doing the smog checks informed the customers it would be about a 15 minute wait or so. The smog check didn't take long. read more
