I stopped by this West Valley Smog shop today after messaging them on Yelp to see how much they charge for a smog test. I was happy with the price because it's cheaper than the other places I reached out to and next to my work office. So I told them I would be coming in the next hour. I found parking just fine near the entrance, they did not look busy or had a car in their garage. When I walked inside, there was only 3 workers and no other guest. I checked in with them and then give my key to one of the employee. He went to move my car into the garage to do the test. The other worker took down my information. It was a very easy process and be aware that they only take visa or MasterCard. It didn't take long to do the smog test, it was like 10 minutes and my car past the test. The workers are very friendly and you'll feel appreciated here. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area because of the price and they also have a other shop like a mile down on the same street. read more

I needed a smog check. Sounds E-Z, right? I drove to the Shell station on Sycamore Dr, but they couldn't take me for about an hour ("I have three ahead of you", I was told). I then called Valley Smog on First St. , but they told me it would tale about an hour to an hour and a half! So, I drove over to West Valley Smog on Sinaloa (which I've passed by several times) and they took me immediately! My smog check took less than 10 minutes (!!!) and cost me only $60! WOW!! Not only did the tester and his customer NOT wear masks in the tiny office, but as I waited there, I had to listen to these two titans of science pontificate over how masks don't work in the (not soundproof, boys!) testing area. I'll bring my business to a company that respects the customers' safety and doesn't insult them to boot. Chris knows his stuff, and he's super efficient. - Great customer service (friendly and helpful) - Fast service (it was pretty busy and I wasn't there for more than 30) - Knowledgeable - Avoided the DMV (I had been told by the dmv I'd have to go in for several things - Chris took care of it it all for me!) - Avoided the DMV (this needs to be listed twice.) We will only be bringing our cars here moving forward, great service. It was a bit hard for me to find (although I'm terrible with directions) so for those who also need help with directions, just you go past the transmission place it's in the back. read more

Used West Valley Smog for years with great service. They did all my vehicles (5). This time, Chris, the new owner FAILED my truck which he passed a whooping 1000 miles ago (last smog test) NOTHING changed on the vehicle, exhaust test was clean, everything was in order. Failed for equipment that was on the truck since 1988. After working with the State smog ref. they even said he should have passed it. A day off work and a month later I have my tag. For owning the business, Chris was NO help at all and even mis-read the vehicle timing, another point of failure. Seems like West Valley Smog on Sinaloa's time has passed. We are very thankful for the service here. We had taken our new motorhome to another place down the way. Oddly the system did not have our engine in it. So we brought it to West Valley, and the same thing happened. Rather than turning us away blindly, we were given a card to call and the gentleman here helped us out a lot and did his best to figure out the issue. It turns out California hadn't had all the smog locations get updated software, and only 2 places in Ventura County were updated to our 2021 rig. We didn't feel like driving far away, and sat on it for a few weeks. West Valley Smog went above and beyond in being proactive and calling us once their system was updated. Went this morning before work to get my smog, 20 minutes later I was done and out the door. I've been coming here for years and they just make it so convenient. The front desk is knowledgeable and the testers will come out and explain if it doesn't pass smog and why and if you ask, they try to recommend mechanics.
