I went there yesterday. In and out in about 5 minutes. Of course if someone was in front of me in line it would take longer. Fast, easy, not really friendly but not unfriendly either but I didn't go there for conversation. I went there because I hoped it would be fast and efficient and that is what I got. You stay in your car and he does all the work. I definitely recommend them to anyone who lives nearby. If you live further away maybe there is a different fast and efficient company closer to you. read more

Received the "star smog only "requirement this year for our 2011 Nissan so we found Simi Test Only through yelp, found the coupon and today we rolled in about 1pm and in and out within 15 min with a passed smog test . Frank was a nice guy couldn't have had a faster friendlier service . I would recommend them. Note we did take notice of the previous reviewer who mentioned if we had work done recently to wait until the engine "cycled" or something to that effect , and we just had the 90k service so we waited about 30/45 days and passed like a champ. Definitely a place I will be bring my car back again.. I moved from the valley in sherman oaks and I had a go to guy every year. Since I really don't know this area well, I was hesitant to take it to a new place and was willing to drive all the way to sherman oaks to smog my vehicle. But for some reason, I decided to just give a place a chance in the area and I'm so glad I did. The older gentleman was precisely that. A gentleman from start to finish. I have an older 2008 vehicle with 178k miles. I was in and out in 15 minutes and thats with a person ahead of me. Don't expect the man to work miracles if you don't take care of your vehicle. He's there to do one thing, and that is to conduct the smog test. He's not a mechanic and he's not your servant. If your vehicle doesn't pass, pay the fee and go pay someone to fix it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Ample parking all around. read more

I don't usually leave reviews but wow - worst experience ever. Called frank and asked him how long it would take for my car and he said 45 minutes and would cost 79.99. Came down and he began to work on it - about 10 minutes in a second car with a lady driving came in and he completely stepped away from car and started working on her and completed her car and then came back to my car. I didn't say anything and continued waiting. 1 hour and 30 minutes later frank finished. In my marathon of a wait I found a 15$ coupon on his website and when I ask him to redeem it - he said that is for 2000 or newer vehicles. I asked where it says that and he said look how long it took to do your vehicle. I said that's not really fair frank and he said I know it's not fair and SMACKED HIS HANDS TOGETHER AT ME THREE TIME said give me the card right now 65$ and never come back again. Got angry with me and said it took me all this time and this is the last time I do work for you. Took my paper and left shocked at how he treated a first time customer. Will never be back. read more

I had my RV serviced a Smog Test pre checked and it was running great. It passed the under hood visuals and emissions tests no problem but the unfriendly guy acted like he was determined to find a way to make it fail. Having me remove the engine cover inside the cabin and spent a few minutes looking around then about 20 minutes with a mirror and flashlight in the engine compartment and the underneath and then repeat a few more times. How many times do have to see the factory exhaust and catalytic converter? Then the prick charges me double ,$99 "because it's an RV" nobody else does. read more

I am giving 2 stars because they did a good job with the smog check but they advertised the price at $29.75 in Savings Magazine and I paid $45. All Smog Check ads say + Certification & Transfer fee. Certification currently costs $8.25. The transfer fee is to cover the cost of transmitting the data to the State. Online it says that this can be from $1 to $3. I think everyone has Wifi now and that there really shouldn't be any Transfer cost but even if they charge me $3 for that, I was overcharge $4. I shop around and would have gone elsewhere if I knew they would be overcharging. Get a price before they start if you want to know what they are really charging you. read more

Many other places are cheaper but I came here to get in and out which I have done before and was somewhat satisfied to pay the extra fee. But this time I bought a used car and after switching out starter I had to disconnect the battery. Which means the Cpu resets to factory in cars and I didn't know at the time. You have to drive about 50 miles before being able to smog check the vehicle to be read. An honest man would have told me right away to come back after seeing it not being able get readings on vehicle instead I paid the price and I was told it passed the emissions but then when I went to register it I was told I failed the functionality part. It was due to the cpu not being readable. I went back, was told he was sorry, and that I had to pay for another smog check after driving 50 miles. A second check is free at many other places. He also told me my vehicle probably needs a new cat and recommended me to his neighbors shop which was probably someone he knew. Either he doesn't have a clue what he is doing and/or he is just trying to just make more money off people. Either way I'm never coming back again. The guy seemed nice but I felt robbed. I also passed my smog check at another location for a cheaper price and was told beforehand if i didn't pass the first one the second one was free. read more

a lot of complains based on untrue facts . technicians are all state licensed and they sign the certificate under penalty of perjury and this no jokes if the cars failed for pcv system and repaired ; it will extend the life of the engine ; additionally if gas cap leaking and replaced it will save the consumer money . usually the above item are the most ignored items on the cars . consumer should thank the technician based on the above facts . my car is 97 and passing like 2005. read more
