They only do smog so I don't know why it would say Service in the question. Yes my car does require service, but that usually means oil change. They don't do oil changes. They don't do any of that except for a smog and I will say they were very fast promptand because I had a newer car it made it easy. All they had to do is just plug in one of those gadgets value I can get it cheaper, but my husband wants me to go to this place. Avoid Valley Smog at all costs. This place is shady and dishonest. I took my 2007 Jaguar XJ8 for a smog test after driving it over 900 miles to ensure all monitors were ready. I personally checked with my own OBD scanner and confirmed that everything was good to go. As soon as I arrived, the owner was suspicious and hesitant to even test my car. He asked a bunch of unnecessary questions and made it clear that he was afraid of being audited because he didn't want to pass a car that had previously failed. That is not how smog testing works. If a car is ready and meets emissions requirements, it should pass. During the test, he restarted my car three or four times, which was extremely unusual. I have smogged multiple cars before, and my regular smog tech never does this. Then, mysteriously, my check engine light "suddenly" came on during his test, and he failed me. Coincidence? Absolutely not. He clearly triggered it on purpose to avoid passing me. To confirm my suspicion, I took the car to another smog station three days later--without making a single repair--and it passed with no issues. This proves that Valley Smog deliberately failed my car for no legitimate reason. This place is a scam operation run by someone more concerned with covering his own tracks than conducting honest business. I will be reporting Valley Smog to the Bureau of Automotive Repair for this shady behavior. If you value your time, money, and sanity, go somewhere else. read more

I have a few vehicles in my collection that unfortunately still require a smog inspection and test. I take them to Massoud because of his now familiarity with them, after many years of repeated tests. He still does the required inspection, not wanting to get in trouble with any potential undercover state investigators from BAR (it happens often). He has good ears, once noticed the idle on one of the cars sounded slightly high and recommended lowering it. He was right. read more

Wow, we loved our experience at the Valley Smog Test Only today. We brought in two vehicles and the owner Massoud was welcoming, kind, fast, and very professional. Our 22-year-old truck didn't pass the first time so Massoud told us why it didn't pass (unplugged battery) and what we needed to do (drive around) and within two hours we were back and it passed. Massoud does an OUTSTANDING job managing the customer flow and making sure everyone is comfortable. First let me say that these people are very nice but unfortunately they are not always knowledgeable about the cars they smog. After waiting an hour I was told that my car did not pass because of a visual inspection for the catalytic converter. He did not know where it was. How can a licensed repair shop not know how to find a catalytic converter? Sorry you give the two stars but you should really know how to inspect something or at least have the courtesy of letting me know sooner. I ended up at WEST VALLEY SMOG, who got me in and out in 15 minutes. Also super nice but really knew his business and the car. read more

OMG!! Can this guy more rude?!?! You would think business is booming!! I arrived at 1 PM on a Tuesday and he had a car inside already. He hadn't even said hello when he saw the coupon in my hand and immediately declared my F150 ineligible. He asked me thrice if it was modified and apparently STILL didn't believe me because he said he would have to check before he could give me a price. Came to this place on account of tag renewal without an appointment. It was Saturday and they had been very busy. The owner was making sure everyone was at the very least greeted if not checked in and queued. There was enough seating for four people to be socially distanced and comfortable. When I was queued up, the gentleman asked me how my day was and what brought me over, and welcomed me. After waiting for the three others ahead of me to be helped it was my turn. There is one thing I noticed amongst all the people here: smiles. Everyone knows this guy or he must have a lot of friends I thought. Maybe he does but a lot of the people here where first timers as well and he treated everyone with respect and made sure he was efficient with his time as possible. When he was working on my car, he explained what he was doing, and what he was checking for. After he was done and I passed, he explained the DMV side of the process and what to expect. Charged me and I instinctually reached out to shake this man's hand because this man knows how to talk to people but caught myself and just thanked him for his work.
