Going into the shop, I had multiple warnings pop up on my dashboard, which Fred, who runs the shop, initially assumed were related to an issue with my ABS module. After running through the diagnostics and inspections, which didn't align with his initial diagnoses, he reasoned the negative cable wasn't connected to my engine bay and properly secured to the body, resulting in poor ignition and the dashboard warnings due to a poor electrical connection. The above shows Fred's honesty and integrity in getting to the root of the problem with my car, thoroughly explaining it, and providing a solution while saving his customer money. I came for a smog check inspection. I waited 2 hours for my car to be inspected. They said my car would not pass because the catalytic converted had been changed. They gave me back my car with NO receipt or paper work saying they inspected the car or that it had failed the smog check. I asked for paperwork and they said they needed to look at my car again. I told them they're not allowed to touch my car anymore because it seems like the businessman here does not know what he is doing. So because of this experience I will report them to prevent anything bad from happening to me or any other customers. read more

I have gone to this place for years...During the time that I have been going to him over the last few years for oil changes and other services, their had been an overwhelming smell of gas in the cabin of the vehicle...but never was checked or diagnosed other then that it was an older vehicle....I broke down today due to several other failures so I had the vehicle towed in to his shop....Once diagnosed, there was a laundry list of issues that could've been caught while the vehicle had been there...The worst issue of all was the fact that the gas smell was finally addressed to find out that my tank had a leak underneath the seat amd around the tank underneath amd Farhad left me and my family including kids drive off on several occasions....I will be reporting this shop and him to the ASE board.....HE PUT ME AMD MY FAMILY IN DAMGER AMD LET US DRIVE OFF ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS...He also got upset when I asked him about it amd told me to stop asking stupid questions....Never will my family nor myself every use that facility again as long as welive amd will STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST USING THEM!!!.... read more

Farid is all of these things, and I feel incredibly lucky to have met him. I came to his shop on a whim for a quick smog check, but when he noticed my check engine light on that was a hard stop. The best for smog test repairs! I highly recommend Smog and More in Costa Mesa on Harbor Blvd, especially if you need help repairing your vehicle to pass the smog test. I took my vehicle to several places looking for help to get it to pass a smog test, even a dealership, but no one else could identify or solve the problem until I brought it here. Fred at Smog and More was able to identify the problem and fix it when no one else could. He explained the issues in a way that was easy to understand, and he figured out and solved the problem completely. My car is more than ten years old, but still running well. Fred helped keep my ride running smoothly and passed the smog test. Fred worked around my hectic schedule and the prices were fair and reasonable, especially for the excellent service. I honestly just happened to see their sign that said smog check for European cars $34.95. This is why you follow your gut instinct, these guys were so professional and hilarious. I was driving with my family from San Diego to Long Beach when my upper radiator hose on my 335i got a hole in it and all of my coolant leaked out. I got my car towed from Santa Ana to Fred's shop in Costa Mesa. He diagnosed the problem and got the part delivered within half an hour and this was on a Saturday. Man on phone replied with "how much do you want to pay" i see online other places have smog checks available for $30 so i say 30? (first time ive had to get my car smogged i dont know what the prices usually are so no need for the rudeness) He replies with "well find someone who does it for $30" if he just told me a price i wouldnt feel obligated to write about how rude he was. read more
