Was greeted by Daniel and we discussed the need of a vehicle wellness check, oil change, tire rotation, and possible car realignment. They immediately took my car in and took ~2.5 hours for overall care. I was receiving real-time updates about the vehicle and given opportunities to address the issue or not. There was no pressure on what the vehicle may/may not need which I appreciate the most. Daniel gave honest advice of my concerns and did not convince me to have work done like other shops would do. It has been about a couple of months since my car repair by Western Auto Care. My car is running…read moresmoothly for being 20 years old (2005 Toyota Corolla). Back in August my car stopped going in reverse and I knew it was time to replace transmission. I message around to a few vendors on YELP. Most of the vendors were were asking for double or tripled the amount for rebuilding transmission. Daniel suggested buying an used transmission which cut down on the costs significantly. Once I had the car dropped off he was constantly updating me with texts/photos of the car status. I also had him replace the real main seal (since transmission is already out) and replace the motor mounts (transmission and engine) and control arms with ball joints. They also tested the used transmission to make sure it held up. They were able to do all that work in 2 days. The car needed to run a while to break in the new/"used" transmission. Daniel and his team did an excellent job with the repair work, communication, and the pricing. The pricing was quite reasonable (Daniel did let me know ahead of time the pricing/quotes for potential work). I would take my current and future cars to him for any repair work. Unfortunately, when I arrived, Carson was heading out for a break, so I had the displeasure of working with Langston at the front desk. Langston told me that Carson had given me the incorrect quote over the phone, which was fine; I just said I would go elsewhere for cheaper. When I told him this, he responded that his prices are the way they are because he uses quality parts. I asked him if the part would be aftermarket, and he said "it's Japanese." That didn't answer my question, so I asked him if the brand was Denso, and he said "yes, that's Japanese, right?" Aside from my interaction with him, I saw Langston being rude and giving attitude to my guy Carson after he came back from his break for no reason at all. I ended up going elsewhere to get the job done with the same Denso part for $100 less (close to the original quote that Carson gave me). Moral of the story is that I don't trust Langston, and I certainly don't like how he was treating Carson. Maybe he was having a bad day, but his attitude today was enough to make me question coming back here in the future (which is unfortunate because everyone else here is really kind and patient). I…read morehave had ignition issues for a little while now that culminated in my car not starting unless I crank the ignition a dozen times or my car just dies on me in the middle of the road as recent as this past weekend. I've taken my car to repair shops near my home and they always end up repairing something else's and not fixing the real issue. Thankfully I found Robert and his team on yelp and they saved from a very unnecessary alternator replacement that the other repair shop had diagnosed was the issue. It turns out that there was nothing wrong with my alternator and that it was actually my ignition switch being faulty and frying/melting the other wires inside my steering column. That made sense on why now sometimes my care would start up smoothly vs when it randomly did not want to start since the melted wire contacts were precariously connected and hanging on by a thread I dropped my car off at 8am and got my car back by 3pm same day. Price was fair and less than I had expected. Will be taking my car to Robert and his crew from here on out

What really stood out was the honesty and communication. He explained clearly what went wrong, didn't try to upsell anything, and made sure I understood the situation. On top of that, he even aired up my tires for free, which was a nice touch. Fast, honest, and affordable service like this is hard to find. Finally changed the new ownership as Tom's Auto. But they don't do smog check. We went there after our brunch in HB and found the battery of my hubby's car was almost dying. We called AAA service and decided to check the battery and check engin light by specialist at Tom's Auto where the location was so close from Bella Terra mall. The new owner, Tommy checked the battery and he immediately told us we needed to replace the new battery, 7 years old and the alternator. Big surprise!! I couldn't believe I saw the familiar faces. I was so happy to meet the same mechanics we knew each other for years at Kim's Auto. We had to wait at least 3 hours until they replaced the new part, the battey. We decided to discover a new mall opened 5 years ago on Beach Blvd. We found a great mall called Rodeo 39. Looks like LBX hangar vibes. We really enjoyed drinking new great beers at PAVO craft brewery inside Rodeo 39. We could spend there without stress. We got back to Tom's about 3 hours later, two mechanics were still working on the alternator of a car. We waited for about 30 mins, everything was done.
