We have been buying Smithfield meats for years. Not too long ago we purchased pork tenderloins and one of them was almost 50% fat. My wife sent a message to the complaint explaining our problem and we never heard back from them. Had they responded and said what corrective action they would take, all would have been fine. I bought 1 bag of the "Triple Cleaned" chitterlings and although I knew they weren't clean that wasn't the issue. The issue was the bag of frozen chitterling were basically scraps. Impossible to clean because they were literally SCRAPS!!! NOT EVEN A CUP FULL, once cooked. A waste of money and time! read more

Also, I've checked tracking number, and it doesnt exist in normal package tracking sites, only in their official site that they sent me. Not to be confused with Slickfield, which is a field full of oil. Not baby oil unfortunately. Smithfield was a good company, and I don't mean great but I mean good, for hams and other meats, for some things more than others, but nothing moreso than their hams. They also made good Vienna Sausage - and they still do, which is why I gave them three stars. However since the foreign ownership came in, the standards and customer service have slipped (not that they were the best in the US, but they were passable), and a lot of the ingredients have too. They also don't stand by a lot of the guarantees that made the company great. So while I give them three for now - which used to be four or five - in the near future their rating could go down to 2 or 1 if they don't discover the American business practices that made them great, and blend them with the foreign ownership capital that has allowed them to take over this company. I'm not saying American practices are the best, far from it. But in this case, when they were American owned, they were doing better by their customers. read more

I purchased a Cooks spiral sliced fully cooked ham. Heated it up per instructions and it was NOT edible. There was a residue on it that made it "mushy" so nobody could eat it. There was also a 1/4 inch of grease in the bottom of a 12 by 16 inch pan it was heated in. I'm not sure if they are using artificial binding additives or some other chemical enhancements but avoid at all costs!!! read more

Hello like most of the other reviews I purchased 5 bags of queenalla triple cleaned chitterlings and they are very bad not clean at all after 24 hours of cleaning 5 bags of 25 pounds I ended up with less then 15 pounds I goin to seek some resolve with this issue the company should be held accountable for every bag they have sold because to many people have had the same problem with these Chitterlings I purchased mine from a Walmart in Michigan on Adams Rd in Auburn Hills . This Company has made millions selling this awful product to customers the should pay for selling these Chitterlings that hasn't been cleaned at all. read more

Y'all need to do better with your chitterlings. As expensive as these 10lbs buckets are to only get not even a pound after cooking when I remember back in the day it would feed a family of 8. Y'all are scammers now and just need to focus on sausage, bacon ect. Let the people clean them and leave it out of y'all's cleaning machines. This is bullshit and never again will I expect the best chitterlings from y'all. Next time I will just spend my money at the meat market. I recently applied for the Production position and at first my application was accepted and I awaited a phone interview. The interviewer, Sasha Wicker, asked me questions regarding my interest in working there and such. She then asked if I could work flexible hours and I mentioned that I needed to speak with my case manager here about that because I wasn't sure. She said to find out and then call her back. Within 15 minutes, I tried to call back but she didn't answer. I tried 20 minutes later and still no answer. Then an hour later I tried again and this time I left a voicemail telling her that I indeed can work flexible hours and to please call me back. I then get an email, "Smithfield Foods reaching out regarding the application you submitted, sorry I was unable to reach you this week, please reach back out if you're still interested." and so I decided to call HR and let them know that I am in fact trying to reach them. They were kind and took my message. Then the next day I get an email "We are disappointed that you feel the position of General Production- First Shift and Second Shift was not a good fit for you at this time. Please reach out in the future should you find yourself wanting to explore our growth opportunities." The position was posted again so I reapplied and this time it was rejected. The issue I have is, if you have an entire department dedicated to talent acquisition then I would assume you could at least take my call and let me know that I wasn't getting the position. This was extremely rude and unprofessional. read more

When in Smithfield one must experience Smithfield and everything it has to offer. We went here because it was on Main Street and opened for lunch without a line to get a table. If you have to wait (they don't take reservations) at least you can browse thru the gift shop till your table is ready. We didn't have to wait long for our order, and the staff are very polite. read more

Five stars for a slaughterhouse? Yep! I went vegetarian on Jan 1. Worked for a while. Tonight I needed bacon. My family used to raise pigs when I was young. I fed them, named them, and then watched them being killed. Not sure what age I was when I stood my ground but my father agreed. So breakfast got put on the grocery list. Gwaltney was always one of the cheapest bacons which is probably why it is what we ate. But you get used to something and it becomes a part of you, or at least a part of your cholesterol. If you could smell my house right now you would understand. Im having applewood smoked tonight but you got center cut, brown sugar, thick, premium sliced, and even 1/4 less sodium if you can believe that. And I didn't have to carry a bucket of food through the snow for the pigs. read more

This is the same establishment as Taste of Smithfield. You may want to view both sites for all the reviews. The oly downside is it really is a retail establishment with a few dining tables and a small outside patio. Interesting place to eat but they sometimes have lines at lunch. read more
