Who wants to buy old fruits and veggies from the grocery store instead of shopping at an open-air market? From early May through November, the Suffolk Farmers' Market (SFM) provides a plethora for our senses. Approximately three years ago the SFM started a visitor center that has some nice features, including a pavilion and ceiling fans. Here are key features: -local produce -baked goods -artisan crafts (e.g., jewelry, bags, wood, etc.) -dog biscuits -live music -plants -petting zoo -grass-fed meat and eggs The SFM is open Wednesdays (3 p.m. - 6 p.m.) and Saturdays (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.); personally, I would recommend going on Saturdays as the selections on Wednesdays can be sparse. It is not the biggest market around; but, more so, it's about the community and supporting local businesses. Check it out!

We left with two baskets full of strawberries and a little of everything else. They make their own honey and grow their own veggies. This will the only farm I will pick strawberries from moving forward.

They sell all kinds of fresh produce as well as some meat and eggs. The strawberry fields are PACKED with berries -- beautiful and delicious. Plus, on both occasions we visited we were basically the only people there so it was easy to socially distance. This place doesn't have the bells and whistles of the larger farms with activities for kids and what not, but it's perfect if you're not looking for a crowded environment. Plus, it's reasonably priced. The strawberries are $2 per pound and a bucket holds about 5 pounds when completely full. They are CASH ONLY so do make sure you have some on hand when you go. The only good thing about this store is the meat department & the people who work back there. The produce department has to be the worst in the Hampton Roads area. The people who work in the Deli are always hiding to keep from waiting on you. Get a bell or something. I have shopped this store for at least 20 years and the managers have gone from bad to worse.

That's not in everybody's budget. I wish they had better bargains like Kroger does. All I can say is, I went in once to check it out, thought it might be a regular shopping spot for me, but it's not. I wanted to love it, and I do like it for certain things--maybe if I want a sub, pizza, or some sushi. But for everyday, weekly, or monthly shopping, it's just not for me. On the bright side, the store was very clean, and the employees were friendly (though not super helpful). The customers seemed nice too. At the end of the day, it comes down to preference and price range. I'd say it's worth trying at least once to see if it fits your needs.

Kroger has a program in which you can get percentages off of gas and luckily today I was able to get 30 cents off the premium which definitely helped out a lot. I definitely recommend you sign up for this free program. There's a mini convenience store outdoors but I didn't need anything. This location stays stocked and clean…read more I love that they have a sushi bar and I can grab a delicious last minute lunch The staff are always working but stop and help you if needed I've never experienced anyone with an attitude they all seem to love their job I like that I can find unique items here as well as my regular shopping list The bakery is also impressive and plentiful I find a new treat every week this time it was the pineapple filled pastries and a cookie dough cake slice My sweet tooth was craving all the goodies! This location is relatively busy but they do a good job of keeping carts stocked and out of the parking lot and the bathrooms clean overall it's a great shopping experience

This store does not have the self checkout lines like other Food Lions have implemented, but they definitely move the lines quite swiftly. There are other nearby shops, including: a beauty store for your haircare and beauty needs, a Chinese to-go spot and I think another business is over there too. All within walking distance. This is not a store you to go when you want to cook a gourmet meal. You aren't going to find much in the way of speciality items; heck, they don't even carry orzo or sweet chili sauce! So why do I return here so much? Mainly it's because of convenience as this store is close by my house. And the staff feels like family. I rarely have a very long wait but I tend to avoid rush times (evenings and weekends after the golden morning hours). When I know I'll need higher end items, I head to Farm Fresh but I have an affinity for this Food Lion.

I love the personable service and I love the quality of the ingredients here. If I'm in the need of a sub I will definitely come to this location without hesitation.
