I love it here! I recently stopped by to get gas and used a gift card to pay for gas. I wasn't sure how to use it at the pump so luckily there is an attendant to assist. Kroger has a program in which you can get percentages off of gas and luckily today I was able to get 30 cents off the premium which definitely helped out a lot. I definitely recommend you sign up for this free program. There's a mini convenience store outdoors but I didn't need anything. This location stays stocked and clean I love that they have a sushi bar and I can grab a delicious last minute lunch The staff are always working but stop and help you if needed I've never experienced anyone with an attitude they all seem to love their job I like that I can find unique items here as well as my regular shopping list The bakery is also impressive and plentiful I find a new treat every week this time it was the pineapple filled pastries and a cookie dough cake slice My sweet tooth was craving all the goodies! You guys know I don't like shopping especially grocery shopping, but I have to go every now and then. This Kroger caught me off guard this morning because they were neat, clean, and the aisles were dressed. For the most part they had what I needed except for a few items but I'm not surprised. The grocery stores have not been stocking their shelves lately. They claim it's a shipping issues but as a commercial driver, I say that's not true. Anyway, they are building a huge building closer to my home and rumors are that it's a Publix. If so every grocery store in South Suffolk is in trouble. I've been here a couple times, this grocery store is clean, selection is limited though. The one thing I noticed about this grocery store is the produce is not fresh. I bought a few things like avocado, tomatoes, pineapples cucumbers etc. the pineapple was bad, the avocados were disgustingly old and so the tomatoes were squishy, this was just after a day of purchasing. read more

This is the newest grocery store to open in the downtown Suffolk area; it moved into the location of the Farm Fresh that closed last year. I have to say: a definite improvement! The selection of products and brands here is much better than the FF that was here before. The store itself has been remodeled nicely and every section (deli/breads/butcher, etc) has really quality brands like Boar's Head. The store is well stocked; on the occasions I have shopped here I've had no problem finding everything on my list. Employees are friendly and helpful. A pharmacy is on-site if you need prescriptions filled while you shop. No coffee shop like some Kroger's, but there is a Starbucks across the street if you really need your coffee before you shop. There are several self check out lanes, which I appreciate because I like to get out quickly. This location also has a salad bar, which is my favorite part. No other grocery store in the downtown Suffolk area has that, so they definitely won points with me there. Kroger has always been one of my favorite grocery store chains and I think it's a great addition to this area! read more

DON'T DO A GROCERY ORDER FROM HERE. They canceled my order and LIED and stated they didn't cancel the order. It was apparent that they canceled the order because 73 items were needed to complete the order. The order was made at 4:26 pm for an 8:00 pm pick up. I was reminded to pick up my order at 5:10, and they canceled the order at 5:34 pm. Not only did they cancel the order, but they also sent the notice to my email when I specifically said to send it via email. Upon arriving to pick up my order, no one could answer why the order was canceled. As a professor of customer service, it is crucial to treat the customer in a manner that would cause them not only to return but to inform others of the great experience experienced at their place of business. At this point, I will NEVER shop at this Kroger again. Finally, I would advise management to undergo customer training for the cashiers and their department managers. RETENTION IS THE KEY...NO RETENTION..NO PAYCHECK! read more

Awesome customer service. So refreshing with Walmart being so terrible. I was nervous doing a whole grocery order at Kroger because I thought my overall total would be a lot more but it wasn't! Pleasantly surprised. Plus they have coupons. AND they have associates check you out and bag your groceries. Unlike Suffolk Walmart which makes you do both yourself now. It would be worth paying a little more for this convenience but I didn't even end up paying more! I only gave Kroger 4 stars instead of 5 because the lines were still long and not enough lines open. But still waaaaay better then Walmart! An associate Jason helped push a second cart out to my van for me. I was thankful. I will be going to Kroger from now on. Good job Walmart, people have finally had enough of your horrible customer service and Kroger will gladly be taking your customers. read more

This Kroger recently opened after they took over the location of the farm fresh. My initial reactions are nothing but positive! I love what they did with the remodel. The bakery is top notch, with some fantastic breads and deserts. The deli has boars head and private selection branded meats and cheeses which are perfect for a gourmet sandwich or a charcuterie board. The butcher has a great variety of cuts of meat and they maintain a nice selection of seafood which is perfect when you'd like some fresh fish or shellfish. They have a decent wine selection and a walk in beer fridge that has some great local and regional options. The pharmacy here is great. Well laid out, very fast and efficient, and containing all the necessities you would get at a CVS or Walgreens. The pharmacists are fast with prescriptions as well which is beneficial when you want a prescription filled while you shop. read more

This Kroger opened in the old Farm Fresh Location. I had high hopes for all the perks that come with the Kroger brand. I was sadly disappointed. I've been to this location about 5 times since they've opened and it gets worse each time. The produce department is simply horrible. The vegetables are rotten and not well stocked. I even saw the produce stockers putting out rotten outdated fruit. Strange to me that the Kroger in the Harborview area has a fresh clean store but the downtown Suffolk area is run down,dirty and it's only been open a couple of years. Go to food lion for fresh produce...stay away from this location. read more

Worst pharmacy I have been to. Prescription is never ready until you wait for 20 minutes. Last time (5-30-2020) I tried to get a refill, after several excuses I was told to come back when I ran out. Excuse me? What do they think a refill is for? I had my refill called in to a different store altogether. Problem solved and Kroger no longer exists to me. I was so excited to find that we were finally getting a Kroger in downtown Suffolk. However, I have been truly disappointed. The associates working throughout the store are very helpful and friendly then once you go to checkout these people are either tired, rude or just out right disrespectful. On a Sunday it's crazy to have so little stock on shelves. Entire areas were bare with not one thing on them. Had to search outside for a cart. And there are lines are everywhere! I have been shopping at this store since it opened. Yesterday I had an experience that has left me very upset. I was in the store shopping I put my wallet and my cell phone on the bottom of the cart and put my groceries on top of them (I was talking to my husband on my ear phob). When I got to the self check out I took out my wallet to pay for my groceries and left my phone in the cart. When I got to my car I put my groceries in the car and took the cart to the cart rake. While I was driving away I lost signal and immediately remembered my phone was in the cart (2 minutes had lapsed) When I went back to the cart rake there was a cart attendant there. I asked him if he had seen my phone he stated no. So I looked first at the cart I returned then through the other carts and seen nothing. Meanwhile my ear-phob is working perfectly so I know my phone is near. Each time I walked away from the attendant/carts my phob lost signal. So I went over to the attendant again asked if he seen my phone. Again he stated no. Again I left and immediately lost signal. At this point I know he has my phone, so I started following him and the carts into the store and told him listen we are going to the courtesy desk and calling the manager. Mean while he is pulling out his pockets lifting his shirt. When the manager came up I told her the story and we proceeded to look for my phone. After looking around one end to the other we went back to the carts he brought in. She found my phone on the top of cart (not where I left it as I had left it in the bottom of the cart and had looked through all the carts in the rake). So you all be the judge. I am really unsure If I will shop at this store again. read more

This store was dirty and I'm not sure it's even a year old. I visited the store within the first month it first opened, it was nice, clean, and plenty of costumer support staff & cashiers. Yesterday I actually saw a worker open a package of spinach, the same type that is on the shelf for us to buy, and put it into the salad bar never washing the spinach. Everyone know washing spinach is a must, there are many recalls on this item and it is recommended to wash before use. I will never eat from a Kroger salad bar again. The food department has a pile of reduced meat and a horrible was there. The floor in the produce, meat, and hot food section was very dirty. One check out lane and two self serve check out lanes were open. There were four people in line for the regular check out lane. Two shoppers had large amounts of groceries, this was a waste of my time. I was very disappointed, I was excited to start coming to the store I had last seen. The Kroger has went down hill so quick I will not be back !!! read more
