My wife and I just moved to suffolk a few weeks ago, and have stopped in at least once a week. Owners and patrons alike are super friendly, and their inventory is great. Awesome place to swing in and grab drinks for your house, or to hang out and have a drink in the shop. They have a few TVs, a few taps, and you can open and drink anything in the fridge. This was the first place I tried Drekkers, which has quickly become my favorite brewery and they always have a good selection of ciders & sours.

ABC stores are the only retail outlets in Virginia where customers may purchase liquor. This particular location is located in a strip mall next to Food Lion on Godwin Blvd. I am not a big drinker, and especially so when it comes to liquor. I went to ABC to buy some rum for a glaze I was making for Christmas (http://steamykitchen.com/7699-ham-blackberry-rum-glazed.html). My first trip was quick just to pick up the rum, so I decided to stop by again today before I wrote my review. I was surprised to find out that they do not carry beer or wine--just liquor. Since every state has different laws, I didn't realize this about Virginia until today. You have to buy your beer and wine at a grocery store, and then go to ABC to purchase your liquor--at least this one is nearby Food Lion. This ABC store is very clean and organized. It's a medium-sized building but I think you will be able to find what you need there. The staff was extremely professional and courteous--I was impressed. If you need to hit a liquor store in Suffolk -or need lottery tickets- this is your place.

I travel this road from time to time, but I guess you can say, I do not pay attention to my surroundings like I should... smh. Well on NYE, I stopped by this store to see if my brand of Tequila was available... nope! Ugh... While other brands were available, I was set on a particular brand. Nevertheless, upon walking in, I was greeted and the store was pretty steady. It was NYE and the store usually closes about 6pm. So people try to get in and get out before it gets too crowded and before the lines get super long. Well this NYE, none of that... the stores are running low on options. Well, while I left with nothing, I will definitely be checking out this location more and more. This store is located in a strip mall as well near a few eateries and shopping. However it's always about who has what and the drive can be worth it. I continue pushing ahead to visit Virginia ABC's in the 757 and provide up to date photos and reviews. I called a head with travel and traffic on a Friday. The two clerks were very nice even though in the midst of unloading a late truck. They confirmed a bottle I was looking for. The business is located on the right side of the strip as you face it. Plenty of parking and the lot was clean. Signage was good at the storefront, however I never saw on the road. The floor of the store is pretty small and the bourbon area smaller than others too. I asked the staff for the Bardstown Discovery I was looking for and was led to it on the shelf. Checkout was efficient using my card. All the staff wore mask. The clerk let me self package with COVID. Over a $100 it's necessary to sign. Not a store I will most likely come back to with distance and tolls, but it's a good option. 3.5 rounding down.

They pulled an obviously previously…read moreopened and used bottle of polish despite still having at least one in tact unopened bottle of polish in stock on the shelf...and luckily I opened the package that was wrapped so tightly you would have thought FT Knox was inside before leaving the store that I went out of the way for this particular item. I can't get inside the head of the person that wrapped it but it seemed intentional that I was given a used bottle of polish since they made it impossible to check before leaving the store with the unecessary wrapping stunt they pulled. Maybe I didn't spend enough money that day. IDK. What I do know is while I stood in line to make an even exchange another customer confirmed that when you pick up orders they usually show them to you ( I have also had that experience with past p/ u orders) to make sure the order is correct. That didn't happen. Again, since it was a single item it didn't seem to matter how much I spent at multiple Ulta locations over the years. I did not feel like a valued customer. Fast forward to today. I waited for an order to be shipped. 4 items. One of which should have been a bargain eye pallette for $6 instead of typical $50 and up (for a decent everyday smoky eye look). The eye pallete had been intentionally destroyed all over the contents of the otherwise in tact shipping package. I deduced that action because the eye pallet was never secured inside the included soiled bubble wrap and the eye pallet was completely closed and not even cracked to make the mess all over the contents inside the shipping envelope appear to be a logical result of shipping or physical damage to the eye pallette. To add insult to the entire experience when I called customer service they couldn't care less about me getting a personal response from a decision maker but offered to replace the items and $5 on my next purchase AS IF I will spend another dime on them so long as I didn't require them to record a formal complaint or allow me the information needed to do it on my own. I asked to speak to a supervisor on the Ulta customer service line and everytime I asked to speak to a supervisor the call was disconnected. They managed to call me back the first time I was disconnected but not the next few times I was disconnected. I would give a negative 10 star review if that was an option.
