Soon after they left, the problem returned. I contacted the company and they sent one of the same techs out the next morning who took one look and told me the unit was shot and a new replacement was needed. Now, I was looking at a complete unit replacement after a repair that hadn't solved the problem. I contacted the office manager and she told me she would get back to me. Several days passed and I had to reach out again to request a solution. I proposed paying for the additional work they had done on the door itself and a refund for the failed repair but was denied and offered only a small discount on a new unit installation. I restated my concern but received no further replies. Unfortunately, the initial visit was very promising, but the company was not interested in solving my issue or "Guaranteeing Satisfaction" as their website states.

Work, then he discovered the original wiring we could use so the old floppy external wiring could be cleaned up. Set up and walk through the unit. WOW! I am actually excited for my new garage opener. Their technician told us the damaged panel couldn't be sourced and that a full door replacement was the only option. Curious, I spent five minutes on the phone with the original manufacturer and learned that an identical replacement panel is readily available -- just sold under a rebranded name. Not only was Meadows' full-door quote more then four times the cost of simply replacing the damaged panel with the modern equivalent, but the door they proposed was actually inferior to the existing one, with a noticeably worse insulation rating. Their full door quote was nearly double that of fully replacing the existing door with the modern rebranded product. That level of either incompetence or dishonesty is hard to overlook -- but what troubles me most is wondering whether the garage door they replaced on our own home years ago actually needed replacing at all. I'd encourage anyone to do even a little homework before accepting their diagnosis. There are plenty of other garage door companies in the area; I'd start there.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Responding to Jason's comment, I spoke directly with the original manufacturer. I was told the replacement panel is still available under a rebranded name and is visually identical to the existing door with the only change being an interior hinge. What he's saying simply isn't true. That's what makes this frustrating from my perspective -- your company strongly pushed a full door replacement as the only viable option.
