In one case, I wanted an induction cooktop with a built-in fan. Hours of internet searches, and speaking with supposed "experts" at other appliance stores, convinced me that what I wanted simply did not exist. I visited Alexander & Rays and they knew immediately how to get exactly what I was looking for--which was a little known luxury brand that almost nobody carries. Oh and BTW, their installers are fantastic.

They installed a complex pattern wool carpet on three levels of stairs and two landings. Everything is perfectly aligned and absolutely beautiful. Seemless! Our law office is in our home and these stairs are subject to extreme traffic every day. The wool carpet recommended by Chris and installed by these two craftsmen is truly stunning. I cannot recommend this company, its owners and these installers more highly. We also ordered a custom rug for our conference room a year ago from Area Rug Dimensions and it is stunning too. I was referred to Chris and his company by a financial advisor who lives in Lake Quivira. He said I would be impressed. How right he was. Thank you KC Wholesale Carpet and Area Rug Dimensions. This business has so many different things to offer their customers. There is an entire part of the company that deals with indoor and outdoor plant needs, indoor greenhouses and so much more! They have a large selection of statues for your outdoor space and if you don't see one that you like, I'm pretty sure they can customize one for you or find something else that will make you happy. If you have never taken the time to stop in and see what they offer, you should definitely put that on your to-do list. I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

BEWARE if you want them to color match or expect them to cover the cost of their mistakes! Called…read morethe store about having some paint matched for my mom's house and charged to my commercial account. The original paint on her new house was Sherwin Williams A100 which had gotten moldy and failed several years ago even though the house is only 15 years old. Ben said to bring all the old cans of paint in that she had because one might be dried out and they would match it. She went in with my 30 year old daughter thinking she needed one 5 gallon bucket of white for trim and 15 gallons of the tan matched for the main part of the house. However one of the gallons was her original "trim" paint so they mixed it up for her to match that as well. They initially mixed it with a stick and she told them it was too dark because it should be almost white. They put it in their shaker and it got lighter but still she thought it was too dark but they never dried it for her and she assumed they knew what they were doing. Of course it got even darker when dried and as you can see from the photo the trim paint is almost identical to the other paint they matched that was to be used on the rest of the house. If you look at the two dried samples side by side anyone in their right mind can see they are almost identical. Kept getting the runaround about they needed to talk to a manager about not charging us for the 5 gallons of package white we got to replace it. Said it might have gotten "darker with age" but never mentioned that at the time my mom was complaining it didn't look white enough. Personally I think they just didn't get it mixed up well because it' was 15 year old Sherwin Williams A100' lowest quality paint. After a month of back and forth they refused to cover the cost of the 5 gallons of paint. Can't believe they made my 76 year old mom pay for their $400 mistake! Closed my commercial account and will never use Sherwin Williams again.

It Is What It Is Did…read moreyou ever wonder when it became not unusual to find hand tools and lawn chairs in your local grocery store? Well, Tractor Supply is a hardware and a store for folks who work outside. That's it, it is not trying to be anything else. When you need just 3 lock washers, and not a prepackaged assortment on a sealed package of 12 lock washers, Tractor Supply is there for you. Or maybe you need PVC pipe, or a stock tank, animal feed, coveralls, a lawn mower, or affordable hand tools, they are there for you. It is kind of like what hardware stores used to be - before they became "home centers." Looking closely, you might notice that while there might not be a large selection of brands, there is a great selection of useful hardware items. And those items are usually good quality and at a reasonable price. I have always been greeted at the door, and if I appeared lost someone would come to my aid. Being less than a half mile from my home I have come to think of it as my other work shop when I need that one item to finish a project. While you might not be able to order a full kitchen remodel, you will easily find the faucet washer you need to stop that leaking faucet in your current kitchen. So do not think of it as some kind of farm store, think of it as your savior when your tool box does not contain the specific piece of hardware that it hold you up. Most any home owner or shade tree mechanic should have Tractor Supply loaded in their GPS.
