Trying to watch my granddaughter play but I would have to walk too far away to get shade so that's going to stop me from coming on warm days. There are a few walkers out here. So it's a good place to walk for your health. I'm thinking my daughter will bring the grandkids out here. But I'll only come if it's fairly cool outside.

I will just give you the CliffNotes version in that the park is very clean - perfect for running/jogging, walking, and sitting around to enjoy the outdoors. Here's the new impression about how kid friendly it is. First off, I love their splash pad. The best part of it is it's free! We tend to go on cooler/cloudy days when the summer sun is not beating down on us. They have benches and tables for families to sit around the splash pad. You can't bring your pets or food to the area. After a lot of running and laughing, my son's eyes do get a little red from the chlorine, so wear glasses or goggles if you want to avoid this. Right next to the splash pad is the playground. I'm so glad that it is covered, so we can go when it's sunny outside, but not too hot. The playground is a good place for the kiddo to either warm up or cool down before the splash pad. I would say the splash pad is such a fun distraction that my son spends the majority of his time at the splash pad and the playground is just a second thought. It's never super crowded even on the weekends. Perfect amount of kids playing around. There's a nice private parking lot right next to the splash pad. I'll be back with the family again and again.

Out of the four that piqued my interest, this one was first on the list. Looks like there were other trails branching off from the main one, but I stuck with the main walking path. The best thing about Arlington is all the trees and hills. North Texas is mostly flat and DFW isn't known for its foliage, but there's quite a few spots in Arlington that really feel "far away." There's true hills and canyons and forests and creeks. You can be in the center of the metroplex and still feel lost in the woods. Crystal Canyon is such a spot. This park is so pretty. I appreciate all the little signs that explain the trail and history of the area. Crystal Canyon gets its name from all the crystals (gypsum) to be found in the vicinity, particularly the creek. There's a few beautiful bridges and benches. The hike is fairly short but super scenic and enjoyable.

Large open spaces, basketball court, restrooms, pavilions for rent, cool playgrounds, a spray-ground, paved parking lots, and it connects to the Bear Creek trail system making it great for hiking. Most recently we've rented pavilion for children's birthday parties. Easy process. Electric available. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy time outdoors - no matter what your age is.

Parr Park is not only fun to say, okay, it's an all around good time for anyone seeking a park…read moremoment -- be it running through an open field, discovering tree-covered trails, or exploring their equipment and amenities: a cool playground with tons of climbing structures, an exercise station, and a large "sprayground" splash-pad situation that runs during our everlasting summers. You can also rent a pavilion here for parties or gatherings (affordable!), and it includes electricity, covered picnic tables, and close bathroom access. Speaking of bathrooms, and I know park bathrooms can be scary, these ones really are pretty clean! Parr Park is big and clean and lush and green. It's connected to the Bear Creek trails, so there really is a lot of nature to explore. There are almost always people around so it's never too quiet, but it's still big and forest-y enough that you could feel a little bit lost in the wild, if you wanted to (I do).
