I read many reviews about this place, most of them complained about the manager being rude! They were absolutely correct! Parents, both, are able to accompany their children but my oldest was not allowed to "accompany" my youngest. The manager had the audacity to come and say something to us. Parents were going down slides, throwing the balls at each other etc. We will never be back and will make sure everyone we knows is aware of our experience. read more

Took our granddaughter, age 6, on the weekend and naturally it was packed. Literally no organization at all and no employees to mention. We paid for an hour however no one checked armbands. Moms were disinterested, on their phones, with kids running wild. Older ones were in the play areas as well, however I did not see any roughness or pushing; just chaos. The adults present were more intrusive than the children they weren't supervising, pushing through aisles, in the play area blocking the slides, jumping on the trampolines, throwing balls, etc. Hey, in the end our granddaughter had fun, we had a headache, but all was okay. We went to Smiley on a weekday afternoon. It was pretty empty besides a party. Children over 2 and adults are required to wear masks. Also they have a sanitizing mist at the entrance and take everyone's temperature. I was very impressed by their COVID compliance for guests. There were a few times they reminded guest about their mask policy over the intercom. I really like that they have a toddler friendly space. My 2 year old had the space to himself. The overall experience was ....quite disappointing. The front desk person had no people skill and very rude, just another one of those nonchalant girl with full of attitude and no manners. Kids that work here just stand there and do...nothing except hoot and holler at each other like they are here to have fun. Place is unsanitary and dirty for being so new. My wife was in the ball pit and stepped in some liquid (possibly urine). No apologies or anything, just a replacement socks. They didn't clean it right away either. When they did, it was half as*ed. I saw a lot of reviews on Google that has 5 stars. I then realized those are all tour guides who probably get compensated somehow. This place is nice and you can tell they put a lot of thought and money into it but i don't think it will last too long. These teenagers who work here will kill this business due to their immaturity and inattentiveness I Will never take my kids here again. read more

******* Update******** This place is circling the drain. Now that the "new" has worn off, the poor management is really beginning to show. Things are dirty and damaged. Many things are "out of order" or perpetually "closed for maintenance." They seem to be struggling financially. Their concession prices have risen significant and they seem to be buying items from Costco to sell at a markup. Their "snow" area has been shutdown and is now filled with rice. It also smells suspiciously like urine. I thought maybe my nose was playing tricks on me, but the (handwritten) signs reminding you to take your children to the restroom before they play confirms that pee in the rice pit has been an issue. I bought the Groupon they offered recently (another sign they are in danger). The Groupon was $12 for two hours. This should be their everyday price... because this place is absolutely not worth the $24 they normally charge for two hours. I seriously think this place will go out of business sometime in 2020. Not because the idea isn't a great one, but because it's soooooo poorly run/kept up. ************** I've been here twice now. The facility is very shiny and there are a lot of neat aspects, but there are definitely a few "kinks" to be ironed out. Most immediately, I feel like this place is overpriced for the amount of time you get. It's definitely not a place you can go frequently, especially is you have multiple children. They also do not offer discount "packs" like some other play places (i.e. Kid's Planet in Brownsburg). There is also the issue of asking parents to pay full price for admission if their child is over two. I went with a group. My child is 5, but my 2 year old niece was also there. I asked to buy a pair of adult socks, with the intention of helping my brother by occasionally watching over my niece in the playground. I paid for my 5 year old, and asked for a pair of adult socks too, but the cashier refused to even sell me the socks. I tried to explain the situation, but either the language barrier was too much, or she just didn't care. I wasn't planning on playing. I just wanted to be able to go and help her if she needed it and my brother was otherwise occupied (using the restroom, ordering food, etc.) Another concern is the owner's children, who are left basically unattended for hours at a time... and have free run of the facilities. On my last visit, they monopolized 90% of the LEGO blocks in the block area, and would not allow other children to play or use the blocks. One of the children ripped a block from the hands of my two year old niece for no other reason than that they didn't want other children to play. Because there was no supervision, there was no one there to tell them that they were being little jerks (as children occasionally are). If they were other paying customers, I'd probably not be so annoyed, but we spent more than $100 for two hours of play time... And if it were a park, or other venue, I might just tell my child to wait her turn, but when you're paying by the hour, it becomes an issue. I sincerely hope they do something to remedy this problem (by either assigning someone to supervise their children, or by leaving them at home and running a business as a business.) Pros: Amazing bubble tea, super great banana ice cream rolls, seemingly very clean, great concept. Cons: Everything else. read more

My son (3- his names not "3" that's how old he is) and I went to Smileys after a rainout of Colts camp practice. Overall, the place is really cool. Great options for the kids including a rice play area that's more secluded usually quieter than the big play area! The slides and apparatus are fun and safe. My only negative is that when we got there (when it opened on a Friday morning) there was only 1 worker. He didn't seem to be in a great mood (I wouldn't have been either with a line out the door and all by myself). More workers showed up throughout the day but one of the big misses, in my opinion, is that there aren't any workers helping navigate the crazy kids. Some parents drop their kids off and are never to be seen again! At one point a group of feral children were wildly climbing outside of play stretches, moving fences, and generally running amok. I didn't know if I was at a play place or participating in a children of the corn movie! read more

My children thoroughly enjoyed themselves! I appreciated the many signs that reemphasized cleanliness. Overall, the place seemed really clean and had lots of things for kids of all ages. The only thing I can complain about are the prices. As other reviewers mentioned, the activities are overly priced, and so is the bubble milk tea. Although the tea is delicious, I've been places that they are fairly priced. We were thinking about having a birthday here in a few months, but looking into their package deals we may have to reconsider. We used a Groupon for our children so it was not as expensive for them to play around. I recommend trying Smiley's! It is a great experience! read more

This is such a unique indoor play place. There is so much for kids to do, and it is unlike anything else in the Indy area. Between the ball area, foam pit with climbing wall, jungle gym type area, video games, virtual reality, and legos/blocks, you will certainly run out of time before you run out of things to do. You do have to purchase their socks (similar to other places in the area). I was a little nervous about cleanliness before we went, considering there are so many balls and I always wonder how places with ball pits can make sure they stay clean. The place was very clean, and there was constantly an employee walking around cleaning the equipment. As long as they continue doing whatever they are doing, I don't think cleanliness will be a concern. They also have a great snack bar. I noticed that they serve pizzas, nachos, and also have rolled ice cream. We did have the rolled ice cream, and it was delicious. My only complaint is that if your child is 3 or over, they charge parents full-priced admission to go inside of the play area. For most, parents likely wouldn't go in anyway. For parents with timid young kids (such as myself), charging full price for the parent to walk alongside gets expensive quick. I ended up having to pay because my nervous 3 year old was hesitant to go in alone. All in all, it was a great experience. My kids are asking to go back. read more

This is an amazing addition to indoor playgrounds for children in Indianapolis . The closest comparison to this facility is "kids planet" on the west side of Indianapolis . Smiley has a play area complete with ball pits ( that are cleaned daily by some crazy machine that cleans 4000 balls at once) , trampoline area ( like sky zone) and jungle gym . Towards the back you will find multiple virtual reality game rooms , a kinetic sand area ( that I'm very disappointed was shut down when I went, which is why I deducted a star ) , lego room and toddler virtual playroom. I think this place is grossly expensive and they have no security kids can just come in and out I'm not sure how that hasn't posed any risk? This is a nice place to take your kids although it's a little pricey, you pay by the hour and have to purchase their socks. They have a great ball pit with several activities within it, foam pit/ rock climbing wall. And they also have a toddler area it includes some ride on activities, a slide, trampoline and more. On the other side of play room/ball pit there is a lego room, a virtual snow/sand activity (unfortunately it was down), and a few virtual reality games for kids and adults. The concept is great. The facility is good. The employees were lacking. The one employee appeared high, another smelled strongly of pot. They all looked more unhappy than healthcare employees during a pandemic! There was a "Karen" trying to police socks. She didn't even work there. She was very unpleasant and apparently accosted a few other patrons. I was happy to buy socks had I been told when I got there it was policy or been told by the employee that was in the ball pit in the first 3 times he saw me. There is absolutely no number that you can call to get a hold of anyone. I've called the front desk. The VR desk. I even called the number to book a private party. They all have a prerecorded message from March of 2020, almost a full year ago, saying they are closed due to COVID from March 13-28. ‍ I would like to ask when their sessions start and end, as I understand they are closing between each session to clean and only allow 50 people in per session. We don't want to drive there and find we're in the middle of a session and have to wait around for two hours for the next session. I just want a phone number!!! We haven't even been there and I have to give them one star. We will never visit there now because of this. A lot for the kids to run around and do for a couple hours easily. Have a five & three year old and they never want to leave. Only major downside of this place is a bit pricey over several other places and their sock policy is absurd. Anything to make a buck. My five year old had on grip socks from Monkey Joe's, and Smiley's requires grip socks. They wanted me to purchase their socks and said it was a requirement. I came here with my nieces, ages 4 and 2. Pros- I like the concept and I think there was a variety of very fun activities for all ages. The ball pit is perfect for older children. The slides and trampolines were great as well. The cons are more substantial and all are regarding the management and structure of Smiley. First off the security system here is nonexistent, which in the year 2020 is truly unacceptable. There needs to be an arm band system or even just an employee monitoring who came in together and who leaves together. Everyone already wears wristbands so the basics are there. There's nothing even blocking the main entrance, and with the chaos of Smiley it is a very real possibility for a child to either be abducted from here or to slip out of the building themselves. I fear that this won't be changed until something horrible happens. I would not come here unless you have one adult for every child. Second- there is minimal to no employee supervision within the actual play area. I really like that there is a designated area to play for ages 2 and under, but what good does that do when it is overrun by older children? There is no one there to enforce any rules. Children are not reading signs. My nieces had a tough time going on the slides when there's larger children running up them or pushing past them. Having a few stationed employees would keep some of the more rowdy children under control. I did see one employee leisurely meandering the area while on his phone though, very helpful. I second the other reviews regarding slow food production (and when you're paying hourly this is a huge issue) as well as expensive pricing. All in all, I would maybe come back if changes were made but not without a Groupon and probably on a weekday when older kids should be in school. It was a nice location, but the party package came with pizza from an outside company (Jet's Pizza). Big Mistake, the pizza was horrible, and then I spoke to someone about it. They said they couldn't do anything and told me to talk to the manager at Jet's Pizza. So I call them, and the manager said, "Well, I don't know what you want me to do about it." So it was a waste of time even to call Jet's Pizza to address my concerns. We ended up buying pizza from the cafe they had inside Smiley's for our guests because the pizza from Jet's was not even edible. The pizza was cold, and the cheese was hard. The customer service here is terrible. My friend had a birthday party for her daughter. The kitchen was late getting the pizza ready. They called the kids to the party room a half an hour later than they should have. Then rushed us all out before her daughter could open her gifts. Wow this place was fun! We got the groupon and got a great price for 2 kids, 2 hours. Even with the socks purchase I felt I was getting a good deal. The place does look and smell clean, and my kids had a blast between the ball pit, the slides, and the fake snow area. I treated myself to a massage in the massage chair while they played in the "snow." The food and drinks are pricey - like an amusement park or ball game or similar. Lots of indoor kid play places popping up these days. Smiley is by far and away the best one we've ever attended. It commands a bit more money, but if a clean, fun, atmosphere is what you're after, then you have to try this place out. As a parent looking to entertain kids at an indoor play place during the winter, the cleanliness of a place is high on the list of requirements (especially during flu season). At Smiley kids are required to use sanitizer on hands before entering. Ball pit balls cleaned once a week. Tons of fun things to-do for all ages between 2-10 yrs old. We attended a BDay party there too and I have to say they did a top notch job. Organized and we'll run IMO. Also a snack/food bar with tons of fun things for kids. read more

We found this place via Groupon and will definitely be back. Two hours in and both 7 year olds are having a ball (see what I did there). Friendly staff and seems really clean. The facility has ball pool area and slides, play area for infants (separate from bigger children), small virtual area, discovery areas in back, small cafe area not many options but just enough. I wouldn't advise taking children over the age of 11 or 12 depending on size of your child. Younger kids place to enjoy. Parties were announced on loud speaker so I would say it seemed pretty organized. Saw parties with colored vest so you knew they were together. read more

Unfortunately I won't be back even though my toddler enjoyed himself. When we went to check in the front desk person asked 1 or 2 hrs and I asked is 2 the mask. She said yes and would request more time if need be so that was $26. At the end of our 2 hrs I asked the attendant for more time before realizing there was an all day option so rather than paying the difference nope I had to pay an additional $29. I spent over $50 on just admission. I was already convinced they wouldn't get another dollar from me but wanted to make the best of the day. I had my daughters birthday paryt there today. The staff had no idea about my party, told me to that I could go to my room at 1:45 but it was still being cleaned. I went back up front to ask the staff what was going on and they told me they were new and couldn't answer my questions. Went to another staff member and they said that the kids can play you just need your socks. I asked for my socks and was told that the party helper had them. I asked who that was and was told they didn't know. Went back to the room at 1:59 ( I was scheduled at 2) and was told very rudely by the staff that it wasn't 2 o'clock and they still had to vaccum so I couldn't have my room yet. Went back up front and finally the party helper was there.She spent the first 30 minutes of our time handing out socks and vests up by the front and not in our room. We got in our room at 2:45 and then were told the kids who just went out to play had to come back in for pizza. We were told that we would have to leave the room at 330 even after getting in the room late. The staff rushed us through and started throwing drinks and other items in the trash that people were still using. They then rushed us out and put us in a small attachment room. My husband went to go check that we were all done and the staff up front told us we were good to go home. I went back up there and said no we are not we have to pay. If I wasn't there this place would have never gotten paid. Overall the kids had fun, but please work on putting experienced staff at the front desk who know how to help and can answer questions. if someone pays for a room for a party starting at 2pm the room should be ready and the birthday party should not be made to suffer for the lack of organization and knowledge.
