The dental assistant Mary is very patient, kind and gentle. She took her time with my radiographs because she knew I was nervous to be there. A really good dental experience! I recently had a 9 AM appointment at Smile Design Advanced Dentistry and was incredibly impressed from start to finish. I barely had time to sit down, waiting a mere 2 minutes before being called in. The staff were not only incredibly friendly but also remarkably efficient, making the check-in process a breeze. The clinic environment itself is a model of cleanliness and tranquility, creating a very calm and quiet environment that immediately put me at ease. I was there for some fillings, and I can honestly say the entire process was smooth and gentle. Okay, I had previously left a great review, but wanted to mention that they were costly, but my husband wouldn't let me. Also a practice that really bothered me was they wouldn't even schedule an appointment for a treatment, unless you paid up front. This really bugged me, just didn't seem professional. So I'm updating the review as Dr. Marin's last service was so unprofessional. But before I say anything about him, I want to stress that his assistant Mayra is beyond amazing, she is caring, treats you like family, is so good at her job, I cannot say enough about this young woman. So regarding Dr. Marin, I started having doubts about him when almost 2 years ago I started having major problems caused by an oral device my medical provider for my sleep apnea. (To be clear Dr. Marin had nothing to do with the device) I went to him because I was in great pain so he referred me to see an endodontist. After two root canals, antibiotic treatment followed by antibiotics for 2weeks, I went back to Dr. Marin for replacement crowns. I had what looked like a big pimple on my gum above the teeth that were treated, so he prescribed another round of antibiotics and scheduled me to come back for the crowns. When I returned, still had the pimple and his response was, I guess that's just how it gonna be and proceeded to replace my crown. That seemed like a really bad attitude, but my pain subsided for a while, although the pimple never did. Months later I started having pain again and saw the endodontist again, he prescribed more antibiotics but said there was a chance I'd have to have the treatment done again. I no longer had faith in that Endodontist, so called to ask Mayra for the name of her endodontist, I saw that Dr and she said the infection was being caused by a crack at the root of one of the teeth I'd had a root canal on and I needed to return to the dentist for an extraction. I went back to Dr. Marin, so we proceeded with the process of doing the extraction. Since the removal and replacement would all take months, Mayra got me in to get scans and a mold of my teeth to get a temporary device, until the implant or bridge could be completed. We were under the gun because Dr Marin was leaving on vacation in a couple of weeks. Mayra promised to stress the urgency and would continue communicating with the lab to rush it so I could be taken care of before Dr left for vacation. About a week later Mayra called and said they had my temporary in and could I come in that day to do the extraction? I rushed over was made to wait an hour, but when I was taken back Mayra had everything laid out ready for the procedure, then Dr Marin came in and said "the tooth looks fine now, so I don't really want to pull it." I was flabbergasted as it had been clear my issues were due to the cracked tooth. He said well the endodontist said it "could" be cracked. I said no she told me it WAS cracked! He said well I just don't want to pull a tooth that might be healthy. I looked at Mayra and I could tell she was not on board with him at all, but she works for him. So I said okay well when will you be back from vacation in case it starts hurting again. Then it was clear, he didn't want to be bothered, because he then tells me he sold his business and wasn't coming back. I was so angry, after all I had come almost 50 miles for nothing. I now have found a great dentist and as I suspected he was price gouging me as my new dentist is like a third of the price, does everything and doesn't demand payment ahead of time. I hope that Mayra goes back to school and becomes a dentist herself, she is that good. As for Dr Marin glad he enjoyed all his expensive vacations I paid for, he completely lost my respect with his horribly unprofessional behavior! read more

Went 5 years without going to the dentist, so I knew I had to go this year. I live nearby so I decided to come here. I thought they were open 6 days a week but it turns out they're only open one Sat a month and cleanings are only done on Mon and Wed. My first appointment was just for X-rays and the consultation, I thought I would get the cleaning the same day but no. I was there for almost 2 hrs. Guess I should've asked about the cleaning..but anyways, I already went and ended up paying for the next 3 appointments. First time I've had to do that, maybe I'm just naive, I did end up cancelling and asking for a refund the following appointments and only keeping the first appointment to do the cleaning. I wouldn't have had enough to pay for both rent and my senior dog's vet appointment the following month. Well since I paid and didn't want to keep procrastinating, I went for my cleaning two days later. My mouth feels a little sore, which is to be expected, but definitely a lot cleaner. Finished in about an hour. I'll be getting my nightguard from them as well. Quite costly, if you don't have anxiety like I do, I'd ask for an itemized receipt. I had the nightguard, cleaning, scaling, and irrigation done, total was $1045. Nightguard was about $400, so that means I paid $645 for the rest? Never had to get scaling done before so I don't know how much it'd normally cost but it's been 5 years since I've seen a dentist so maybe that's why the cost was higher. read more
