She evaluated me, explained exactly what can be done and an hour later, I had a beautiful new tooth. It is some type of a filling that she molded and ground to form a perfect tooth for me. All was painless, and the staff was fantastic as usual. Thank you Dr Lee. The tooth you created is "simplee" artistic. Your compassion and professionalism is wonderful. ( And for those of you that are worried about the cost of something like this, the price was unbelievably reasonable!)

Though please note that there was a change in ownership and some of the reviews actually belong to the service and care of a Dr. Nelson - who retired. I also waited till I had a second visit before sitting down and writing my experience. The first time I had a good hygienist who was friendly and thorough. The second time I had an asian woman who stood the entire scaling time. That was a first for me and I'm one who goes every 6 months. I have been looking for a new practice since my previous beloved one no longer was in network for us. The two exams I had with Dr. Lee with were very brief. She wasn't particularly personable but coupled with the fact that she didn't give me the time to fully examine my toothache complaint was the biggest issue I had. She had basically advised me to come back for a more thorough exam because she didn't see anything on the x-ray and visible decay from the biting surface. Fast forward less than 6 mo later, I found out I had decay underneath my sealant that was causing my sensitive. I came from an excellent practice that was extremely proactive and on top of patient education for both hygiene and gum care. I was always given good information and options as well as a thorough explanation when I showed an interest or had additional questions. That was very much not the case here. Perhaps to someone who only needs a cleaning and is comfortable with that level of practice, this could work for them but I was truly disappointed with the level of service and care and am seeking care with another provider.

My teeth are really healthy so I don't see the main dentist often but the couple of interactions I've had with her have been very kind. But my absolute most favorite person to talk to and get my cleanings done with is Huang. She's so down to earth and easy to talk to. She's careful and wont wet you and poke you on accident. She explains everything she does. And the whole cleaning experience feels like a spa! They even give you a hot towel to clean your chin/mouth area up when you're done. There's snacks in there and drinks. Everything is clean and the outside area is adorable. I don't have trouble parking and I don't have to wait. Just walk in and they are ready for my appointment! I saw a video online recently that said it's actually very difficult to find good dentists to do cleanings because many are shady and will only have their dental assistants polish your teeth. I do not have that experience here. The technology is modern and advanced, even some of my old dental places didn't have what they have here. Note: I am a cash paying customer. I do not go through insurance. It's a little expensive compared to other places but you get what you pay for. The experience is much much much better here. And for anyone worried about dealing with people who have accents from their home country, that's also not the case here. They speak fluent English with no accent. Which I know is a weird comment but I think some people care about that. So don't worry about it. It's also super cool that the dentist and hygienist are sisters lol. Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

I knew from the outstanding service I received 2 weeks ago when I had a dental cleaning at Cottage Dental, that I needed to share my experience with y'all to give an insight to how amazing this dentistry is. I wanted a dentist that was closer to home for me. As luck would have it, one of my co-workers came through with this dentistry located in Fullerton. Two weeks ago I had my first dental cleaning there. It was top notch, high tech, super friendly, & the staff explained & answered all types of questions. On that visit, I met with Maddie, Diane (my new hygienist), and Dr. Kim Nguyen (my new dentist). They were all so individually awesome! Today, I had to go back to have 2 cavities filled. This is what I call being proactive about my teeth. I certainly did not want anything to turn into a root canal or tooth loss down the road. In all honesty, I spent more time worrying about the shot, numbness, & cavities being filled prior to arriving at Cottage Dental than it actually took Dr. Nguyen to fill them. She and her handy assistant explained everything as they worked on my mouth & believe me when I say I was very comfortable in that dentist chair. Many things in life we don't get to choose....however what dentist we go to is definitely a choice. I cannot say it enough, that this dentistry is by far the best if you are looking for cleanings with no pain, & people who not only enjoy what they do, but do it with such ease, that in the process they make you feel super comfortable and wonder why you didn't go there years ago. It really is that easy. Anywho, in the world we live in, people are too quick to only voice a concern on matters that they disagree or find fault with. Since I'm a positive person, I felt the need to give a most wonderfully positive review. If you or anyone you know might be looking for a new dentist....even though this groups been around for the past 25 years, I would definitely highly recommend Cottage Dental! Nixon is only 3 so I'm (his mom) helping him. At 3, fears are somewhat low because life is pretty simple. We talked to him about what was going to happen and he was good. It wasn't until he sat in the chair and saw the big lights and tools on the tray that he began to get worried. Aundrea greeted Nixon when we arrived and he is always happy to meet a pretty girl with a big smile. She talked to him for a few minutes before he went back. We went into the back with Maddie who got Nixon hooked up with headphones so he could watch Finding Nemo during his visit. While they waited for the doctor, Maddie took Nixon's x-rays and brush away the "sugar bugs" with the magic tooth brush that might tickle a little. She definitely had her "kid lingo" down. Nixon responded so well and didn't get nervous until he saw the big tools. Maddie was on it though, she explained that Dr. Ortega was only going to tickle his teeth with them. Dr. Ortega was so friendly and examined all the animals in his mouth. She told Nixon that all 20 animals (teeth) were strong and healthy. We left the office and Nixon said, "I'm a big boy mommy and I like the dentist!" So in my books... Cottage Dental is the best and my son will forever love the dentist. read more

My wife and I took our twin boys to them for their first ever dentist visit (they are 3 years old.) I learned about the practice from a business contact who knew the head dentist, Kimberly. We wanted to make sure our kids had a very good first experience (we actually live out of state and went a hour out of our way on a family vacation to have this appointment -- and it was MORE than worth it. They were so nice and warm with us... they had movies for the kids to watch as htey did the appt (Shrek and another disney film), let the boys lay in our laps as they did the xrays and cleaning, and were just so good with them. THey even gave our kids a few gifts at the end (superballs and tooth paste -- which were a real hit with the boys.) The bottom line is that our sons now associate going to the dentist is fun. I am not the person who enjoys frequent visits to the dentists for any type of dental work. Nevertheless, what made my experience enjoyable was simply that Cottage Dental's staff/team are professionals in what they do. What Cottage Dental did really outstanding was their process in three simple steps. First, when it came down to making appointments and/or feature appointments they were prompt and painless. For instance, even if you forget your appointments they are quick to remind you via email and text (helpful service). Additionally, when it came to discussing your finances a lot of financial options were available for us. More importantly, the work that was completed by the professional dentist was unbelievably comfortable, were sensitive to our needs, and expediently. I don't usually mind going to the dentist. I've had braces, 2 surgeries and unfortunately, my fair share of cavities and chipped teeth. However, I can say that Cottage Dental makes every visit, check-up or treatment, painless and quick. In all my visits to Cottage Dental, I don't think I've waited more than 5 minutes before going back to start the appointment; they are clearly on top of their timing and scheduling. Aundrea was so friendly and got all the paperwork quickly out of the way. In the past, at other dental offices, X-rays were always a painful (uncomfortable at least) task and it seemed like they took forever. Maddie took my X-rays and it literally took a few minutes and didn't bother me at all. Leaving the dental office with perfectly clean teeth is the best feeling and Diane definitely took care of me. Dr. Lehman and the dental assistant, Stephanie, were both super helpful and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. OMG....I love them! They are awesome! I hadn't been to the dentist in years due to lack of dental insurance, but now that I have dental insurance again, I went and they were amazing. My teeth have not looked this good in years. They have inspired me to go every 6 months to maintain good dental hygene. They are worth the commute from Seal Beach. I am a huge chicken of the dentist and not afraid to admit it. I went here reluctantly about a year ago, thanks to a tooth that decided it no longer wanted to play nice with all the other teeth in my mouth. It's close to my office, and ended up getting in the same day. I was seen by Dr. Ortega, and was put at ease pretty quickly. They use the magic stuff called nitrous, and I had my tooth worked on. I'v always hated going to the dentist until my visit at Cottage Dental! They made it quick easy and painless. The staff is very friendly and professional. They answered all my questions that I had. They have worked hard to give their patients up-to-date technology, professional care, and a pleasant experience, and they have succeeded. It shows everywhere you look. I have to say going to the dentist for me was a nightmare my whole life, until I met the Dr.and all the staff in the office at cottage dental. What a pleasant experience! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My dentist, Dr. Ortega-Gonzalez was nothing short of amazing. She took her time with me, answered all of my questions and explained the procedure step by step. She has a wonderful touch and I would highly recommend her! read more

Recently, a very unfortunate party accident left me with a broken front tooth. Even more unfortunate...my sister's destination wedding to be the following week with lots of planned photoshoots. I called the morning the office opened, and they scheduled me that day for an appointment. Dr. Ley took a look and deemed it an emergency with the upcoming wedding and worked tirelessly to fix it in between seeing his normally scheduled patients that day. His entire staff were incredibly empathetic with my situation and made what should've been stressful, a really enjoyable day instead. I went home that day with a fixed smile for the wedding photoshoots. This office cares for their patients and they will take care of you. If I could give a 10/5 stars I would.

Again thinking weeks away, they scheduled me next day. Dr Smolkin did the procedure. Not a very talkative fellow but then he was rather busy. I'll take less talking for next day service any time. So Jackie and Gabby helped me out at the front desk and were friendly and efficient. Good people you'd enjoy talking to if they didn't have to work. After my insurance coverage I was told I would pay $600 out-of-pocket. Soon after I discovered I was pregnant so did not go back to get the laser cleaning done. The health of my gums was a huge concern during my pregnancy since pregnancies are already tough on one's teeth. After my pregnancy, I decided to go to another dentist for a second opinion on the health of my gums. They told me my teeth and gums were in excellent health and just really needed a good cleaning. My cleaning was done by the new dentist and my teeth and gums fill amazing again. This place is not what it used to be. It is very money driven now and it's disappointing. I have now changed my primary dental office to the new dentist who is able to take care of me without needing a $600 laser cleaning. It feels like they took my concern and tried to profit off of it as much as they could.
