I had an old front tooth repair that broke off leaving me with an embarrassing half of a front tooth. Called Dr Lee's office on Monday and they squeezed me in. Dr Lee was great! She evaluated me, explained exactly what can be done and an hour later, I had a beautiful new tooth. It is some type of a filling that she molded and ground to form a perfect tooth for me. I waited a bit to write this review but have to say I was very disappointed with my two visits. It's a big surprising that the practice was rated so highly. Though please note that there was a change in ownership and some of the reviews actually belong to the service and care of a Dr. Nelson - who retired. I also waited till I had a second visit before sitting down and writing my experience. The first time I had a good hygienist who was friendly and thorough. The second time I had an asian woman who stood the entire scaling time. That was a first for me and I'm one who goes every 6 months. I have been looking for a new practice since my previous beloved one no longer was in network for us. The two exams I had with Dr. Lee with were very brief. She wasn't particularly personable but coupled with the fact that she didn't give me the time to fully examine my toothache complaint was the biggest issue I had. She had basically advised me to come back for a more thorough exam because she didn't see anything on the x-ray and visible decay from the biting surface. Fast forward less than 6 mo later, I found out I had decay underneath my sealant that was causing my sensitive. I came from an excellent practice that was extremely proactive and on top of patient education for both hygiene and gum care. I was always given good information and options as well as a thorough explanation when I showed an interest or had additional questions. That was very much not the case here. Perhaps to someone who only needs a cleaning and is comfortable with that level of practice, this could work for them but I was truly disappointed with the level of service and care and am seeking care with another provider. read more

Found this place here and Yelp and all my fellow Yelpers were right! They retweet a great place to come! They were welcoming, kind, gentle, friendly and definitely cared about the welfare of my concern. They took care of me right away, took my x-rays, and the Dr. came in to see me and got right to work! What I loved most was there was no feeling pressured into doing anything unnecessary or feeling like I had to pay for something that didn't need to be done in the moment. I feel some times you go in to see a Dentist for one thing and you come out feeling like you just left an Auto mechanic having to pay all these other up charges for something that you didn't even know existed. I literally walked out of that office. Sending a text to people from work and my family telling them to come and switch over to this office. Also, for anyone wondering... I came in as a new patient looking for a local dentist. The staff was friendly and the office was clean. While in the waiting room, one of the doors was left open and I could hear and see the patient having their teeth scraped, which sounded like needles on the chalkboard. The doctor said very few words and she was by no means gentle during the cleaning. I had specifically sought out a female dentist under the assumption that they would have a gentle hand, boy was I wrong that cleaning felt like the longest 15 minutes of my life in a torture chamber. My mouth was sore for 48 hours hours. While I feel the job was done properly, I will not be returning. read more

I was recommended to Dr Lee by a neighbor. Actually she mentioned that the office used to be a great father and son team. Dr. Nelson and that he was no longer there and i should just check it out anyways. I was able to make my appointment online. I even filled out my patients's form on their website prior to my visit. So i was pretty much ready to dive in on my first visit. All the staff at Simplee Dentistry are super friendly, like someone mentioned in another review, like an old friend. Roxanne the office manager is the first person that I encountered and she made sure that i was comfortable. Dr Lee cleaned my teeth and you can really tell that she was being super thorough. She even told me i still had glue on my teeth from my braces. I had braces 15 years ago and i had 4 previous dentist prior to Dr Lee and no one clean my teeth as well as she did. The other thing i like about Dr Lee is that she wasn't trying to push unnecessary work on me. I really missed the dentist back at MA, but I'm really glad I found this place. Roxanne in the front was super helpful and kind. She even did the xray and kept me accompanied. Ever since Covid lockdown in 2020, I hadn't seen my dentist located near my LA office so needed a new dentist close to home. I went on Yelp and found Dr. Lee and her Simplee Dentistry practice! Dr. Lee and her staff were very pleasant and professional and I like that she didn't try to sell me services or products I don't need or want. Highly recommend Dr. Lee and her office! I came in for a second opinion because my previous dentist told me I needed a lot of extra work done that my insurance wouldn't fully cover. I was suspicious since other dentists I had been to never mentioned anything like that and I'm pretty good about taking care of my teeth. Dr. Lee told me that while I have some minor issues that can be taken care of with proper care, all that extra work the previous dentist told me I needed done (replacing old crowns and fillings) wasn't necessary at this time. Elvis 11 minutes called back for exam. Cam still hear the cool jams. Dr came in after a few minutes We talked about life then the checked the teeth. This review is for Dr. Lee. I was a patient of Dr. Nelson for over 5 years so was apprehensive of the switch to Dr Lee. So far I've had two appointments; a routine cleaning/checkup and a cavity filling. Dr Lee has updated the equipment (they now have digital X-rays) which makes routine things more comfortable for patients and quicker for the staff. Even with having to use numbing meds that wear off quick and a small mouth, the filling went quick and painless! My gums weren't even sore after the shots. I accidentally threw my retainers away while eating and attempted to look for them in the communal dumpster but couldn't bring myself to do so when I looked inside. Cmon people! Bag your trash properly! So I was looking for a dentist who could replace my old Hawleys. My normal dentist office said they were not able to make me some new retainers... i dont know why when my dentist told me he could do it during my last visit. Maybe they were scared of COVID. A legit reason. I came to Dr. Lee's instead and was pleasantly surprised by their commitment to following COVID guidelines, including seeing me on time (no one crammed around in the waiting room), using cavi wipes to clean all surfaces, and disinfecting post procedure with some machine that blasts disinfectant everywhere. First time seeing that. My impressions were taken quickly and Dr. Lee was fully donned in an N95 mask, face shield, gown, and gloves the entire time. I would never trust a dentist who was lax about COVID restrictions. You shouldn't either. She made sure my impressions were perfect as well and we did my bottoms twice for that reason. Dr. Lee truly makes you feel safe knowing you're about to get real close and within 6 ft during the procedure. Her office is clean, cozy, and they have complimentary drinks too! Dr. Lee's got a very pleasant, friendly, and calming personality. Glad to be in and out fast and got my retainers quickly too! Price was also very reasonable. When the retainers came I went back to pick them up and Dr. Lee made sure everything fit well and comfortably. I can now sleep peacefully knowing my teeth wont relapse into its crooked state. She told me she does Invisalign as well! My overbite is starting to come back again due to my inconsistent use of retainers (and frequently losing them) so I may have to go back soon to get these bucks back where they belong. Luckily she accepts my PPO, and unluckily, my PPO ain't that great which is fine since her rates are fair. Parking is either street, which is a plenty because you're in the O.C., or out in the back parking structure. Thank you Dr. Lee! Hopefully I wont lose these! I have been needing a cleaning for a couple years now. I've had such terrible experiences with dentists and although my last dentist was great, it was really expensive for someone without any dental insurance, such as myself. So naturally, I went on groupon. Yes, it's risky. But I couldn't afford another $260 cleaning and X-ray exam. Especially since I've been having problems with my old fillings. I knew dental work may cost extra so I need to cut corners where I can. Well I chose the Nelson group groupon because, of course, it was a great deal, and the reviews on yelp were great. Therefore, I took that chance. The outside of the building is ok. Not exactly in the best area of Fullerton but I had to take my chance. I waited 15 min past my appointment time (not bad compared to other dentists) and then met Shannon. Shannon was amazing. She was thorough and never once hurt my gums even though I KNOW she had her work cut out for her. Probably set her other patients back a bit with how much my teeth needed to be cleaned. Regardless, she was so kind, gentle while aggressively attacking my plaque, and really excellent at cleaning. Best cleaning experience...probably ever. Then I got my X-rays, and I truly wish I could remember her name because she was super sweet. All the staff was pleasant and wonderful. Patient, kind, friendly, warm, etc etc. you know, all the things that probably cause cavities ;) It was then I met Dr. Nelson. I was informed that he is the grandson, the newest addition to the team. I was shocked at how young he was (only because I'm used to the other extreme) and became slightly shy. Not a bad thing. He was beyond kind, caring, honest, sincere, genuine, etc etc (repeat all the complimentary words already listed throughout this review). Apparently, I did not need any dental work done. He never once even attempted to up sell me or claim I needed to purchase something for my tooth pain (from grinding, not cavities). This entire experience was truly one of the best, if not the best, with a dentist. Ever. TIP: for those of us without insurance they have the BEST DEAL EVER. Trust me, I've been searching and researching for years. $149 for the year includes: 2 teeth cleanings, X-rays, dental exams, and 20% off all dental work. I want to thank groupon as well. I had not been to the dentist in a while and was referred to Dr Lee by a trusted friend. I probably delayed my first appointment longer than I should have because of concerns for COVID, but once I got to my appointment I felt very reassured. First, the scheduling process online was super streamlined and hassle free. I received regular communications leading up to my visit to make sure my information was up to date and that my visit would run smoothly. They had temperature checks, masks, and plenty of hand sanitizer in a well ventilated office. I have been to a lot of dentists in my life, but Dr Lee's cleaning was the most painless experience I have ever had (even though I'm sure a lot of stuck-on plaque had accumulated since my last cleaning)! She is very gently, communicates very well, and does not rush. I was VERY satisfied with the cleaning, as well as the quality of her staff (front desk and assistants). Dr. Lee and her staff, especially Roxanne, are exceptional! Although they are not a pediatric office, they graciously agreed to treat my 4 yr old for a dental emergency. Roxanne took the time to speak with me in detail about the issue and completely calmed my fears. I was able to fill out all forms prior to the visit which saved time upon our arrival. Dr. Lee spent an hour with my son trying to calm him and remove a partial denture which was placed by another dentist. Nitrous was administered along with patience and lots of coddling. Ultimately the denture was not able to be removed but this was no fault of theirs. My lil guy just refused to open his mouth due to past bad experiences at another dentist. Even though she spent an hour with him, she did not charge me a penny! She refused to take payment because she felt she did nothing when in fact she did so much! This is my second visit to this place. Got a filling done today. I have HMO dental insurance which apparently most places don't accept and the people who do accept it are typically less than fantastic .so I decided to pay cash. Their prices are fair, and Dr. Nelson is an expert at what he does. Typically im not a fan of going to the dentist , but I will continue to see him without hesitation. One huge point to make is that he is conservative and does not upsell you on unnecessary things. To be honest, I wasn't really expecting much from my visit because I have had horrible experiences in the past with groupon, but it had been over a year and a half since my last teeth cleaning and my insurance doesn't cover dental so I decided to give it a try one more time. When I drove by the location, I was scared that parking would be an issue, but they have their own private lot that's connected to the medical building so I was happy plus on time! I was greeted my the friendly receptionist who was expecting me. The waiting room had a mini fridge filled with water bottles, so I helped myself. A tech brought me in shortly after and took all of my xrays. She was personable and easy to talk to.She also informed me about their insurance/membership which is about $140 for the year which includes unlimited xrays (her words not mine-please don't take unlimited xrays just because you can...hahaha this is the ONE time you shouldn't try to get your "money's worth") and 2 cleanings plus 20% off any procedures. Shannon was my hygienist and she was amazing!!! She was very thorough and made the whole process as painless as she could. She really took care of me and I enjoyed getting to know her. Dr. Tom came to do final inspections on my teeth and was great! I wasn't pressured on purchasing procedures that I didn't need...which I was already prepared to turn down because I'm a poor grad student. My groupon came with a free whitening kit but they had ran out of kits so they offered to made custom whitening trays for me! This is normally around $300 (I know because my cousin is a dentist but her practice is 2 hours away from me). I never thought I'd find a dentist that I'd picture myself going back to. I had always thought I had commitment issues...I guess the Nelson group is finally making an honest woman out of me! :P P.S. I was told that my whitening tray would be finished in 1 week, but it actually took less!
