They've been pushing a lot of coupons and online promos lately, so if you haven't tried them yet, now's probably the best time to go while the deals are out there. The location itself is a good size, clean, and can handle bigger groups without feeling crowded. Customer service stood out, the manager who took our order was friendly, patient, and didn't rush us while we decided. I usually go with the BBQ Bacon Smashburger, and it's always a solid choice. I love Smashburger and their burgers were always great. However, this is not the case for here. I ordered crispy Brussel sprouts, which weren't crispy but very oily. The French fries were soft, and my Truffle mushroom burger was put together haphazardly. The patty was over seasoned too. The reason I came to Smashburger at Sugar Land Town Square was because I parked here and walked across the street to meet a friend at City Hall. I didn't want to take advantage of the opportunity. So, I came in to be a customer. I have been to the other Smashburger in Houston Galleria area. I couldn't relate this one with other one. The order counter at this Sugar Land location is so small. As I walked in from the side door, it looked like a main entrance from outside, I see the tiny counter right the way. But where was the cashier or was this a self service kiosk? It must be too early in the morning. Cashier was taking a break, I think. I ordered my usual Double Classic Smash No Cheese and a regular fries. They cost $12.68 and I had a very high expectation for this price. It took a little longer than other restaurant did. I can assume they are shorthanded. The burger was not juicy like the other Smashburger. Fries were colder than I liked. That's very unfortunate. I'll park somewhere else next time when I come to the Town Square. read more

My experience at this location was pretty good. The cashier was helpful with answering my questions as they have new items on the menu. One was being able to add cheese sauce to the fries. So I ordered the Double Classic Smash burger with their sweet potato waffle fries and added the cheese sauce on top (don't judge). I was happy to redeem a $5 off coupon from my app. I got a sweet tea and sat in one of their booths to wait on my phone. This location has a pretty big dining area. I'm surprised to see so many low ratings. I wanted to go to La Madeleines after church, but the line was out the door, so I walked over and got a single burger and sweet potato fries. It's basically self serve. The guy took the order, I helped myself to a drink, had a seat, and another guy brought my order after a relatively short wait. What else would one expect? I told the person that answered about the mistake and all he said (with an attitude) was "O-Kay..." and was silent. I had to actually say, "And what are you going to do about it?" He said (once again with an attitude), "We'll remake your burger if you bring it over here but that's all we can do." Okay, fine. I told him my husband is a big guy (so that they would recognize when he came in) and was going to describe him further and that's when he said well they will remake the burger "if you come in respectfully." And I told him well you're the one being disrespectful at this point (his attitude, kept being dismissive, no apology and then saying he'd only remake the order "if we come in respectful" so I said you are the only one being disrespectful right now and he said how am I being disrespectful and I told him you're being extremely aggressive and rude with me over the phone. I told him if I recorded the conversation and played it for your corporate office they wouldn't be happy with you at all. He basically did not need to be starting an argument with a customer ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE and I didn't come at him disrespectfully, just explained the error and he said, "If I don't want to serve you I don't have to." I asked to speak to the manager and he said, "I AM the manager!!" Ummmmm apparently Smashburger needs to train people on how to be respectful and in customer service not to mention how to READ since my order said gluten-free bun. I have never felt so disrespected by a food establishment. My family arrived at about 8:20pm and was told they were only taking to-go orders. I asked what that meant and the cashier told me that they were just putting the food in a bag. I asked if we could still sit down and he said yes so we proceeded with our order. We waited about 15 min for our food to not receive a bun less burger. Another customer pulled out and checked their bag and it was mine. It was a patty thrown in a styrofoam box. Used to come here quite often but has been awhile, how things have changed. They best was to describe the overall restaurant was "dirty". Several tables had not been bused for and the bathroom was a mess as well. Ordered the jalapeno burger and scotch tots , my wife the classic cheese burger and fries. There were two customers at the time aside from me in the dining. There were about 5 men in the kitchen. Plus the female, plus a manager, AND the young man who took my order. I had an order of fries, that took nearly 12 minutes to make, while my once hot burger became an icicle on the counter. How is ANY of this my fault? I slightly shook my head and took my bag, and sat down. The tables had a sheen of old, mucky, and grimy water it was supposedly cleansed with, and it was sticky. There was aged, hard food on the ketchup packages INSIDE my bag and ATOP my fries. What joy. I paid for smash fries and received regular. I was SOOOO over the entire thing by then. I think I would've enjoyed it more if the black bean had more taste, but the truffle mayo and mushrooms kind of balance the taste. We were first timers and definitely read the menu WRONG. YOU HAVE to tell them leave off the ketchup, too. I ended up pulling all the veggies off the burger due to the ketchup. Tried the plain regular fries; they were thin and crispy. Ordered the haystack onions. They WERE NOT as pictured...anywhere. They were limp and very greasy; the batter was scarce. I sent the first order back. The server brought out a new batch that honestly looked as bad or worse than the first. I was very disappointed. I like a good onion ring of all cuts and this; well, I took the tray back to the counter and left it. The manager? Came out and asked if he could remake, offered something different, etc. I just wanted to hand it back to them and leave it at that. Paying a little higher end for basically fast food isn't a problem. But, I do LIKE to get something edible. Due to the menu model of this chain, we won't be repeat visitors. This is the second location I have been to in a couple of months where they have discarded their tea more than an hour prior to closing - not sure why. In both cases, I had the charge for a drink refunded since I do not drink soft drinks and there are no other options for a paid drink. Upon receiving my refund for my drink at the Sugarland location, I asked for a cup for water but was refused since I had the drink charge refunded. This is unacceptable as their water is free; not to mention why would/should a paying customer be denied water during record heat??? (I was actually told they didn't have to give me anything when I asked for a clear cup for water.) Additionally when I placed my order at 45 minutes prior to closing I was told they were only accepting To Go orders as they had closed their dining room even though there were 3 occupied tables. What the heck????? Why not just close completely??? I did ask to speak with the manager but was told there wasn't one there as he/she had already left. Had the SmashFish sandwich and it was as good, if not better, as last year's offering. This has to be the best, or at the very least 2nd best fish sandwich out there. Perfect crispy flaky fish with perfect amount of sauce on the classic Smashburger bun which certainly contributes to this rating. Wish it was offered more than once a year (Only during Lent), but understand the logistics and low demand throughout the year.
