We stopped by Smashburger the other day to grab dinner to go. We ordered two kids' meals, which each came with a burger, fries, and a drink, along with the Double Colorado Smash made with two Certified Angus Beef patties, pepper jack and cheddar cheese, grilled green chiles, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and a spicy chipotle bun. The restaurant was spacious with plenty of seating, and the customer service was top-notch. One of the managers took our order, and she was incredibly personable and helpful. When we mentioned it was our first visit, she patiently walked us through the menu and helped us decide what to order. We took everything home, and the whole family enjoyed their food. The kids' meals were very generously portioned, my husband really liked his Colorado Smash, and the fries were excellent--crispy, flavorful, and salted just right. Great food and even better service. We would definitely come back! 5/5 stars. read more

The food tasted great, but unfortunately, that was the only good part of this experience. I placed my online order at 8:14 p.m., and my confirmation stated it would be ready at 8:45 p.m. I did not receive the "order ready" notification until 9:56 p.m., and I didn't walk out with my food until nearly 10:00 p.m. That's approximately 1 hour and 42 minutes for one pickup order--and more than an hour later than the promised pickup time. I understand that National Cheeseburger Day brought in extra business, but the ordering system should have provided an accurate wait time or temporarily stopped accepting orders once the restaurant became overwhelmed. Good food does not make an almost two-hour wait for a pickup order acceptable. Better staffing, realistic pickup estimates, and clearer communication are desperately needed. read more

I feel bad for the workers. They were way too understaffed today. Management needs to do better with staffing or at least let customers know about the long wait times. People were waiting over an hour and a half for their food. Hopefully this changes. read more

Absolutely ridiculous experience. I ordered and PAID for my food online and showed up at the pickup time I was given, just to be told I would have to wait ANOTHER HOUR. I asked them to just cancel my order and give me a refund since they clearly couldn't have it ready anywhere close to the promised time. Instead, the staff was rude, dismissive, and told me they wouldn't cancel the order or give me a refund. So I'm supposed to pay for food I never received and just accept it? I completely understand restaurants get busy and delays happen, but an HOUR+ after the pickup time is ridiculous. And then to refuse a refund and give me an attitude on top of it made the whole situation even worse. I left without my food, without a refund, and extremely frustrated. Easily one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. read more

07/17/2026 Staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. Greeted me upon entry. The facilities are clean and up-to-date. Food came hot and appetizing. The "scorch" fries were a bit on the greasy side (I think they put a chili oil on them), but not too spicy. Other than those fries, everything tasted great! Will definitely come again. read more

Hard pass. Much better burger joints around the area. We essentially came by simply to mark this spot off the local "to try" list and glad we could at least mark if off. Never again! Food is pretty bland, burgers were poorly done, wrong orders by the young dude taking orders, unnecessary lengthy wait time when they weren't even busy, tons of oil with brussels, and parking is quite cumbersome thanks to the businesses sharing the same lot (e.g., 24 hr fitness, Nuggets). Typical ambience for a burger joint, nothing out of the ordinary. Classic single and double smash? Bland and didn't even look tasty. Colorado smash? Super oily, dry meat, and bread was practically soaked in oil. Crispy brussels sprouts? Rainfall of oil and, again, super bland. Scorchin' hot crispy chicken sandwich? Couldn't tell ya, because we didn't realize until we got home that they got this order incorrect and instead packed a scorchin' mac & cheese burger. Refer to the photo as to how bad the burgers presentation was - look for yourself, pic is worth a 1000 words. Ordered take out. What did our receipt say? Dine in. Had to inform the servers about the error. 30 minutes for a few burgers, fries, and brussels sprouts with only a few patrons inside? If this is how all Smashburgers are... well, now we know. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the trouble and disappointment. One word to describe this entire experience and oily disaster? "Disgusting" read more

Food was fine but ordered in app and was ready over 15 minutes after the scheduled pick up time and fries were cold.

The past two times the place is dirty inside, the burgers have been overly salty and not consistent. The last time the kids shake didn't come out - the guy who took our order came out halfway through us eating and said "oh I forgot, im sorry we'll get right on it" left and never came back. No one worked on it 10 minutes later the Manager said oh we are really busy we will work on your shake in a few minutes- what about the dude you said sorry and then just left? Oh he went on break - WTH? read more

05.31.25 Greeted upon arrival. Friendly service. Evident constant cleaning. Food was DEE-licious, just as we remembered it was way back when Smash first started popping up around Sac years ago! Really not sure why the 2 1/2-star rating, cuz Hubs & I had absolutely NO complaints! Was the fantastic service & food only something that occurs on a Saturday afternoon?? I mean, TVs, cute Sac wall mural decor, even with cute shelves that showcase burger & milkshake books, plus...we noticed several USB plugs & outlets all along the window hightop seats AND some of the back wall seats! Also, it was super clean, and witnessed workers cleaning as we were sitting and eating! Employees greeted and gave well wishes as guests left. I may come back JUST for a HH milkshake on Fridays 2-5pm to get one 50% off! But why wouldn't we be back?!? Glad they're not too far and giving a much better experience than other older locations we USED to go to. read more

First time trying this place. Good for our first. Not so much aware if ours is just normally oily, or ours now is an exception of how oily it was. Otherwise, We liked the variety of smash. Great customer service. Generally clean surroundings. Plenty parking too. Definitely on our repeat list. read more

Poorly set up. Basics like salads that were two peoples meals not possible. Told can't do it, never prepared by staff today. 3 out of 5 of us get fed here tonight after putting in orders online and driving 7 miles. Hilariously disappointing and surprised by the oh well response. They ended up making the salads which I appreciated. Then when I got home. Meal missing. Came back they made it. They need more people scheduled during there rush. read more

We ordered for delivery and had a cockroach crawled out of the container of tater tots. My husband called the store and spoke to an employee named Daniel who insisted that it was a sweet potato fry and then told us that his manager said that it's not their problem anyway and that we should take it up with DoorDash, even though the bags are sealed. Daniel then proceeded to call my husband crazy and that he sounds like a 12 year old that's making things up and refused to give us any contact information for his management and then hung up. read more

In Rocklin for water polo. Picked this place for a few of the team members. Let me tell you, I thought burgers were just that, burgers. This was so yummy. Definitely one of those burgers that hit the spot. Everything was fresh, from the buns to the tomatoes, to the lettuce. French fries were cooked perfectly. I'm not even sure why coming on here they only have 3.5 stars. The establishment was clean, even the bathrooms. The staff for being a younger group were nice and professional. Good job to the cook this day for making a great burger. read more

Store advertised being open till 9. That usually meand you take orders till 9. Showed up, they locked the doors at 845. Will not be back.

Arrived a half hour before closing. It was clear the staff did not want to serve us so close to closing time on a Saturday night. They said we couldn't dine in or order shakes, that they had already started doing the trash and end of night routine, and then seemed annoyed when we decided to order anyways. I asked for a basic combo I had seen online and was told that was online only, and that they turned off the online ordering system 90 minutes before closing. I said that was wild and if they were so intent on closing early then they should change the store hours. It took them a whopping 6 minutes to cook our food. read more

BWE and our son (and I) decided to get lunch here and dine inside. The inside was very clean with background music playing. In some burger spots the music is way too loud but here it was just right. I ordered the Classic Smash with added jalapeños and the Smash Fries. BWE ordered the CS but lettuce-wrapped and sweet potato fries and my son got the All American with no smash sauce and regular fries. Service takes some time because they make everything fresh which was nice. The wait staff was very good. Once our order was up, it was delivered to our table. We all liked what we ordered. I liked the crispy parts of the burger while the inside of the burger was juicy. The fries were delicious with that hint of rosemary and garlic. We loved it! read more

Came here for a quick dinner after long day , waited for 30 minutes on our food, my son almost fell asleep while waiting , when we received food it was pretty tasty and the staff were helpful, but on our way out my husband went to the restroom and sow employee exiting restroom without washing hands which is disgusting, after around 10 minutes me and my husband started to have pain in stomach, I regret going here , in n out with their lines have faster customer service and I have never ever had any stomach problems. I use their mobile services and ordered 2 double Pattie's burger and a large fries. The burger wars pretty good, a little more salty. The buns were very soft m. It was good but not memorable. The fries were super good , it is well seasoned! No problem using the app and it was ready according to their estimate time. Awful service. I ordered thru Uber Eats to pick up the order myself. It was supposed to be ready in 10min. I saw the order was received but not being prepared at all. 15min later I walked in the store and right after I walked in, I saw the order being canceled. Uber notification said " We are sorry, but Smash Burger cannot get to your order right now, so it has been cancelled." My guess is they did not see the order so they just cancelled, or the system automatically cancels when they don't acknowledge within 15min. When I told that to the young male staff, he was like "no we did not cancel." I showed the receipt and how it was cancelled by them, he gave me a half ass sorry with a question mark. They were too busy looking at their cellphones with no customer inside I bet. He did not even offer to take my order again or anything. So I just walked out and ordered from somewhere else nearby. I will never go here again. read more

I had no idea there was a Smashburger tucked away in this complex until recently. As a burger fan I actually hadn't tried this chain before, so I stopped in. The burger itself was so-so, but I enjoyed the scorchin' hot fries which had a nice kick. I also tried a salted caramel milk shake but it mostly tasted like vanilla ice cream. There was a lot of extra made, so it was nice that they give you the leftovers as well. Overall, not a bad option due to its convenient location but if given the option in the same category I would prefer In-N-Out. read more

First off, don't go in anywhere near closing time or they'll basically tell you to get out of there because they want to close early. This has happened several times. One time at 8:30 (they allegedly close at 9) they told me and my family that we couldn't eat in the restaurant and gave us dirty looks for daring to come and patronize the business that employs them. I'd never go back, but we still like their burgers so we continue to take the abuse. Horribly rude service but good food. read more

Excellent service. Fast turn out of food. All very good. Hit it at a slow time, so I went in ordered and ate "here." Tried the dairy free shake which was excellent. Not often I get a treat like this. Never will return. My wife went there to order food to go. After waiting over 30 minutes inside, she went the the counter to see what was taking so long. Our order was ready and sitting there, but no one told her. She got to the car only to realize half the order was missing. She had to go back in and have them get the rest. By the time she made it home, all the food was cold. Her milkshake was room temp and melted. And we were still missing stuff. I contacted the company online to let them know about the service and request a refund. They told me they issued a refund. 2 weeks later, still nothing. I do not recommend going to this location. We thought burgers sounded good tonight so we decided to hit up Smashburger since it's not too far from the house. We ordered a classic smashburger and a specialty brisket and cheddar Smashburger. We ordered smash fries and sweet potato fries to accompany our burgers. The person taking our order was very friendly and knowledgeable, she turned out to be the Assistant Manager. The place was pretty clean, with nice music playing in the background at a good volume; the food came out pretty quickly and tasted pretty good. When I went to use the restroom I was a little surprised and confused. The signage was just a little contradictory. I'm all for unisex restrooms; but here they have two restrooms, one has a men's sign next to the door and the other has a women's sign next to the door, but on both doors a unisex sign is mounted. It just seemed a little strange... All in all, dinner was pretty good so we'll probably be back. read more

Weird experience. Walked in, stood at the cash register for 3-4 min without being acknowledged. Finally, Joshua came over and started taking my order. Half way thru the phone rang, he answered and instead of placing them on hold he proceeded to take a large phone order for 10 min before finishing my order. He seemed to think it was funny. Thought I'd try it being a local spot and won't be coming back. Service is absolutely terrible, the crew working needs a manager that actually trains them to be professional. My fiancé and I decided to take my daughter here since she was hangry and was craving a burger. She ordered the Kids Hamburger, Fries and Milk. FOOD - Colorado Burger: beef patty, pepper jack and cheddar cheese, chilies, lettuce, and tomatoes on a chipotle bun. This burger was really good. The beef was flavored well and cooked to perfection.
