This is a very nice location located at the end of Bloomfield Avenue between Montclair and Glenridge. They have plenty of seating but no designated area for takeout which was a bit disappointing since all other smash burgers I've been to do have it. I got a regular Smashburger with smash fries on the side. It is great that they have the $4.99 all day menu, but I would also be great if the gave the option to make it a combo for a bit or less of whatever it would be to just get the fries on the side. This location matches the flavor of all other locations, which was very appreciated since that's what I expect for chain restaurants. I ordered through their website, which was pretty easy and, once I got to the restaurant, I was taking care of very quickly. read more

Smashburger - CLASSIC SMASH® - Burgers Near Me - Glen Ridge, New Jersey

Smashburger has been in our neighborhood for over 10 years, and has been an option for us when we wanted more personal attention than our local burger joint's. Although our local Smashburger in Glen Ridge, NJ in the Glenmont Plaza, Regularly drops the ball in quality And quantity, as of recent, they do make up for it with their customer service. The new female manager goes above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy and satisfied, especially when something goes wrong with their orders, as is often the case! When we have tried to use advertised coupons/deals, IE: Free Veterans Day burgers, many of the past Daytime managers at the store either do not know how to apply the discount or do not honor it correctly. They have had to call the head store manager for directions, and this would usually take quite some time! Additionally, at a recent visit, I received a double bacon cheeseburger which was WAY overcooked almost to the point of being inedible, and there was so little BURNT bacon on the burger I had to contact Smashburger coporate about the situation. This is where an even Bigger Nightmare started! This effort was, at first, met with at LEAST 20 emails back and forth as Smashburger representatives did not understand my complaint / concern! Eventually I was offered JUST A SIDE for my inconvenience, which was not acceptable when I had a problem with a Significantly More Expensive Double bacon cheeseburger and not a side. Then, I was offered a side and a fountain drink! Then, i was offered a side and a milkshake! Again, not the satisfactory resolution I was hoping for. NOT ONLY DID I NEVER RECEIVE THE REPLACEMENT DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER I REPEATEDLY REQUESTED, I NEVER EVEN RECEIVED THE SIDE AND THE SHAKE COUPON!!! THEN, THEY STOPPED RESPONDING TO EMAILS COMPLETELY!!! Also, as No One Ever physically or personally answers their phones, after leaving AT LEAST FOUR THOROUGHLY DETAILED VOICEMAIL MESSAGES WITH CORPORATE GUEST SERVICES, NO ONE EVER called me back, even though their voicemail recording assures callers that ALL messages would be responded to WITHIN 48 hours! My fair and honest advice is for people to skip Smashburger AT ALL COSTS, as the food quality is poor and G-D forbid you need their corporate customer / guest services, their customer / guest service, IT IS NONEXISTENT! Smashburger is SO NOT worth the trip. PS: If you were not aware and have the smallest amount of respect for your body, they have significant amounts of Poisonous Tans Fat in their low quality meat! read more

Don't expect good or any kind of customer service at all. I tried ordering on line for several people big order, about $200 worth. The site was glitchy so, I called to explain. The guy said... " Well I just got an online order that came though so that's not an issue on our side...that's something on your end" I paused, as I've worked in customer service for some time and, never do you or blame the customer or put it on them to figure it out. That is the quickest way to lose customers, as they just did and, kill your bottom line. And it's so very ghetto of him to have done that. After some back and forth explaining that it's not our service or devices as we just placed orders for another group separately. The dude did not want to hear it and said... " I can't really help you, it's not on our end" I replied "So your telling me you can't help me place the order and you won't take my order over the phone??" "Yeah we're just workers here we have nothing to do with the online ordering " At this point I realized how low level the Montclair Smash Burger really is. Especially hiring people who don't give f#*k. What does that say about the owners, hiring a manager who hires people like that and doesn't train them properly in customer service. Will never consider them ever again. Three words... Word Of Mouth read more

This Smashburger location was my first introduction to Smashburger about 11 years ago! I was in the neighborhood this week so i decided to stop by for lunch! To my surprise the place was renovated! The upgrade definitely made the dining room look more open and bright!!! The burgers and fries are still delicious, just smaller than it used to be to be. Get the smash fries! They are tossed in Olive Oil and rosemary and seasoning! Delish!! My meal with a drink came to $15 bucks which is average for todays upscale burger places. Service is still great! I love that they bring your food to you which is nice!! This location is by far my fav. I shall return! Lol read more

MOBILE ORDER & PICKUP REVIEW: Solid 3 stars. We enjoyed the food but inside the location was a bit chaotic when my partner walked inside to pick up our order yesterday afternoon. He said staff were dealing with a teenage customer, so he was ignored for a little bit until he got someone's attention. For me, I got a Carolina BBQ Burnt Ends burger and Smash Tots. I was a fan of the pulled pork tips and the flavor was good. Overall well balanced flavors in the burger. Tots were good and I ended up sharing them with my partner since his sweet potato fries were mid (good flavor but not crisp). My partner got the Classic Smash Black Bean burger with an added egg and the aforementioned SP fries. He was a fan of the burger saying it was better than he expected it would be. We also split a Mandarin Cardamom drink, which was a citrus drink made from organic tangerine, cardamom, turmeric and coriander. It was pretty good. read more

Manager Liz runs a great Smashburger restaurant. Always welcoming and clean. She greets the customers warmly as you step up in line to place your order, And is busy staging orders to be picked up and is also going back and forth into the kitchen directing kitchen staff. Today a nice young man named Jonathan took my order, And went right back to helping Liz get things ready. He was happy! Liz was happy. The 2 ladies cooking popped out here and there and were also happy. My burger was cooked perfect with the hot burger being hot and the condiments cold, Fries were cooked great, Cola was fresh not watery, Jonathan came over between bites and asked if everything was ok. The greeting upon leaving was also nice. Would gladly refer friends looking for a great burger experience to this location. Jan 10 2026. read more

Smashburger can be a hit or miss. When it's good, the patties are juicy with crispy edges, and the flavors come together well. But sometimes, it's overcooked or feels off. Sides like smash fries are great but can be inconsistent too. Worth a shot if you're craving it!. Checkout @foodchoiceofusa for more read more

This place use to be my son's go to. The last three times we have ordered has been bad. They have left out items, not included items, they won't make my burger the way I order it. The managers did their best to make sure we were taken care of but it did not work. For example if we order extras they will not put it on. Both of our burgers had no pepper jack cheese, no truffle mayo, one burger was missing a fried egg. My son had no Oreo milkshake. I called to complain and they were nice enough to make my order again. Three times they get it wrong. Unfortunately we will not spend money here again. The cooks are lazy. Shout to Mel and Gab though. read more

Bacon was raw head chef was rude and came out to yell at me because he fucking undercooked it. Stupid dumb fuck having an ego trip due to his incapability to do his job Almost puked. He proceeded to say he would make a special one just for me which I assume had a topping of spit so was thrown out. read more

First time at this Smashburger location and they are great! Service was courteous and friendly, and they gave me extra fries because I had to wait a little longer for the rosemary wings- it was all worth it. The Tractor lemonade is refreshing and delicious, the burgers are very tasty, the fries are some of the best I've ever had. Get the wings! They are crispy and juicy- well worth the wait. Thanks to the service at Smash burger! read more

I came to Smashburger for the first time and I was not disappointed! My mom and sister have been raving about this place for years now and I finally tried it. The restaurant was very clean and not busy at all. The staff was very friendly and gave us suggestions. We ordered the Colorado burger (single), half scorching hot tenders and half regular, sweet potato fries and an Oreo milkshake. Our milkshake came out right away and it was delicious ... the cookie chunks at the end were my favorite part. Then we received our food but had to request sauces instead of the staff, which I'm glad we dined in or else we would've had dry items. I loved the cheese on the burger and the spice. The tenders were pretty hot and one of our tenders looked so tiny. All in all, I'll return to another Smashburger when I'm in the mood for a burger :) read more

I've never seen an oily burger. Where does the oil come from? Are you deep frying the patties? It was oily the first time I tried this place and I assumed it was because of the bacon so I went back and ordered a double smash burger (no bacon) and it was just as oily. We need answers. I didn't enjoy my burger. My last time there. read more

My daughter and I never been to Smashburger and heard good things. We went to the Glen Ridge location. The service was good. Unfortunately the cashier never tried the sandwich I asked about. The Tailgater. I was torn between that and the Spicy Baja with Guac burger. Being that the Tailgater is for a limited of time I chose that one. My daughter went for classic double smash. 2 burgers fries and a drink....$24.17 OH MY.. The Tailgater.... VERY VERY greasy. Nice flavor but I could only eat half. Way to much grease for my liking. Bacon Double Smash burger.... Greasy as well. My daughter could only eat half and seems like it went right through her cause the next thing I knew she was blowing the bathroom up. The Fries... they were Luke warm and just ok. Overall way to pricy for a burger and some fries. And nothing impressed me....Probably won't be returning for that Spicy Baja Burger. I took a star away for the price. A star away for the grease and a star for Luke warm fries.... read more

Smashburger has always been a good staple to lean on although the consistency can be sometimes off my family and I will always give them another try because their menu as well as the ease of ordering is always worth it. We've ordered turkey burgers, regular burgers and of course, some chicken smashes... everything is delicious! read more

One of Thee Best, I must say and the milk shake is on fleek, now going I'm to try the non dairy shake and will give you my review on that!

Amazing place, friendly staff, great vibes, awesome food, recommending to all my friends!!!

Well, they fucked up my order. I asked for no tomato, and got a burger with no tomato, but they also removed the pickles. This is not that fucking hard, ya'll. Food was tasty as shit. read more

You know, I think the service here is pretty good, as in the food doesn't take too long and the cashier is always friendly. I have been getting coupons in the mail lately, and their prices may be slightly on the higher side, but the coupon helps and if you complete their survey on the receipt, you can get a side of the rosemary smash fries for free next time. I got the bacon avocado club burger, which combines my favorite things, avocado and bacon (and ranch dressing). The burger was bigger than the bun, so they aren't stingy with the meat side. I got the larger rosemary fries so I could meet the minimum for my coupon, and it was a lot of fries, don't recommend that much for one person. I like the taste of the rosemary fries and it's a unique item. For parking, the lot is pretty big, so parking shouldn't be a problem and getting into it shouldn't be a problem, but getting out, if you want to make a left, only one of the exits allows you to and if there's a lot of traffic, you can be waiting a while. Once I went right and around the block because I was tired of waiting for clearance. So I'd recommend this location, it's a good-tasting burger. read more

Whenever I am out on the road and I'm hungry, Smashburger is usually my "go to." The burgers are always done to perfection and so delicious. As a side, I order the deliciously sauted brussel sprouts! I love the new beef brisket burger, it is one of the best things I've tasted, honestly. I've been going to this location for years and they are super convenient and super friendly. The wait is a bit long sometimes, but that's at any smashburger, because they're so popular. read more

Where do I begin. I am disappointed and appalled smashburger in Montclair! I ordered 3 shakes, which came to $7 after tax. All 3 shakes came in a 16 oz cups. Upon sticking my straw I the cup I noticed it felt off. My excitement was cut short as I opened the lids to see each shake was only half filled. Once I seen that, I took out my measuring cup just to confirm that there was only 9 ounces of product in each cup. This is a rip off, misleading, and disappointing. I called the Montclair store to complain about my order. The employee that answered was kind and apologetic but said this is how horrible smashburger is with customers and that's how smashburger shakes come. I will be complaining to the better business Bureau, Yelp, google. I've never been more disappointed in a company than I am now. read more

Just picked up my food, I no longer live in the area thought I would order some food while visiting my parents.. the onion rings must have been made this morning.. I spent $50.00 dollars for a bag of old stale food. There is nothing worse than people serving you food they would not eat themselves. 3 burgers all cold, fries cold, sweet potatoe fries cold old and burnt, and tater tots loaded with grease. Never again!! I would have been better off at McDonald's. I would never have reordered because clearly if they served me old cold food this time next time I might get something that would kill me.. I called them twice of course they did not answer likely knowing it was a paying customer complaining.. if you fing want to waste your money don't go to this place.. they have clearly gone down.. I used to live their burgers and fries now they clearly have zero respect for their customers I guess that's why it was completely empty inside tonight. Stay far away!! read more

With a heavy heart, I have to downgrade this Smashburger location, which up until now had always been reliable. The quality of the food has taken an abysmal dive into the depths of food hell in the last couple of months - did they change management or chefs or something? Haystack onion orders barely fills 1/4 of the container - large doughy pieces of onions stuck together in an unappetizing clump. The salad barely fills half the bowl with hospital cafeteria level of terrible chicken - a sad, limp, thin piece of protein. I'm so, so sad about this. I loved coming here for the convenience and parking. Looks like I'll have to try Bareburger or some of the more (insert snotty voice here) artisanal burger joints in Mont-claaaiiir. read more

I had "Brianna" as my server and she was super nice. The environment is calm and modern and this place is nice just to chill out at.

It's a fast food restaurant,so the food is pretty much the same no matter which location you choose. The only problem is this spot is incredibly slow. I can't the number of times I've ordered something online and still had to wait 15-20 minutes once I got there. Yesterday was no different. I ordered my food online at 6:43 pm, arrived to the restaurant at 7 pm and by 7:10, it still wasn't ready. The people around me were all upset because they had been waiting for their food for 30-40 minutes. The cooks looked like they were having a party in the kitchen, so the manager had to give them a warning and go help them make the food. This is a busy, popular location. Waiting 30 minutes for fast food is completely ridiculous. I don't have this problem at other smashburger locations. read more

Came to be his location for the first time yesterday for lunch. I've been to other Smashburger locations before. We each ordered burgers and split a large order of the Smash fries. I had the BBQ bacon cheddar burger. It was ok not too juicy. I placed an order with the cashier who was aloof, and would barely open her mouth to ensure that she captured my order correctly. Twenty minutes later, I made it home only to realize that my order was made incorrectly. No big deal. I reached out to the location hoping to get some resolve for the orders that were made incorrectly but instead I got Felix the "store manager" - who was rude and derogatory in his tone and requesting that I could only be refunded if I would drive TWENTY MINUTES back to the location to get a refund. Smash Burger in Glen Ridge is terrible. We ordered from Gubb Hubb and it took an hour to be delivered. Besides that, when we received the food, the package was tiny and I ordered a $4 bottle of soda and it's was missing. We noticed that the bag looked slightly opened and when we got the food, there was no drink and the food was eaten out of. We called the driver and she said that she didn't get any drinks and that they're not allowed to open the bag to see what's inside. We called the restaurant and they wanted us to go to them to pick the drink up and we told them that that's why we ordered for delivery, because it's freezing out. We shouldn't have to go out just for a drink. Restaurant said that they hand all drivers the drinks, so that it wouldn't be forgotten. They didn't want to resolve the problem and just advised to call Grubb Hubb. This service was beyond terrible. read more

I love the avocado bacon ranch chicken sandwich. It's full of flavor. The wait can be a little bit bothersome. Today I ordered via DoorDash and my dasher was waiting for 15 minutes to pick up my food. The temperature was good and the food was fresh. The dine in area is ok. Sometimes it's cleaner than others, I guess it just depends on the staff that day. The milkshakes seem to have a bit too much milk and are not thick the way I like. Once in a blue this is my go to. read more
