When this place first opened it was great & I was happy to write a good review ... As of now, the food seems sloppy . Burgers & salads that were once appetizing now seems thrown together . The wait most times is ridiculous & the place could be cleaner . I'm Not paying that much for a sub par food . read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My fiancé and I went to have lunch and I was unsatisfied with my meal and told the waitress that I didn't want that food. No one from management came and spoke to me about the meal and tried to keep my money. They told me that nothing was wrong with the sandwich and I just didn't want it so they refused to refund my money. After going back and forth with them trying to explain that they WILL give me my money back they only refunded me for my sandwich and not my whole meal that I had purchased. NEVER GO HERE ! read more

Ok i posted a bad experience a few months back went again to try one more time and was pleasantly surprised ! Food was great ! You got the mojo back thank you ! read more

This is part of my ongoing mission to try every Smashburger in New Jersey. Given that this is a chain restaurant, one would expect them all to be identical but in my experience, there are differences. On this visit, I tried the Colorado Burger, since it's a limited-time special. I actually don't understand why they can't make any regional burger any time on demand since they're just working from a fixed set of ingredients and all those burgers should be in a database anyway, but I guess they simply have to have one special burger per region. Anyway, the combination of green chilies and pepper jack cheese in the Colorado Burger is interesting. They ought to use a bit less salt though. Seasoning should be subtle, not the main ingredient! I also had the smashfries. Some of the other Smashburger locations I tried don't use enough rosemary oil, but this location did and that helped the flavor. Service was quite good and speedy, although it may have helped that I visited on a Sunday night when they weren't busy at all. And finally, my usual complaint, common to all Smashburger locations, is the pricing. Menu prices do seem a bit high for what you're getting. What would be a burger combo meal at other restaurants for $6-$8 comes up to over $11 at Smashburger. read more

Smashburger - Colorado Burger - Fast Food Near Me - Brick Township, New Jersey

I told the person walking around that almost all the tables were dirty but she didn't clean them off. The register girl did not get our orders correct when we orderd the burgers. They didn't have mustard. She said they forgot to place the order for the mustard. My husband ordered toppings but didn't have the proper toppings. My burger was too dry with the gluten bun. The table next to us (with a couple) also complained their tables were not wiped until we complained twice. Then the girl wiped them halfway. The rest of the tables were left dirty. I asked why was the place so bad and she said they let a few people go. Our tables complained that the picture of the burgers did not match our food. The burger are small. This is like the forth time I've eaten here and never got good food. I won't go back now since they are unorganized and the tables are dirty. read more

Dear Lexi, The ONLY Reason That I Felt Your GREAT Restaurant Did NOT Get A Five () Star Review Was First The Smashburger APP Is NOT As Friendly As The YELP And/Or The UBER Eats APP, Which I Thought That I Had Clearly Indicated. The Next Serious Issue Was My Health Care Aide Does NOT Eat Bacon, And After Careful Review & Checking BOTH The Store Paper Receipt And The Aforementioned Order That I Had Personally Placed Through The Smashburger APP It Was Crystal Clear That The Included Bacon On The "Specialty Burger" Was On The Burger. Ruth Would NOT Eat The Burger Due To Whatever Her Personal Reason(s) Are. I However GLADLY Enjoyed BOTH Sandwiches! ! ! Ruth Also Just Reminded Me That She Also Shared With The Customer Representative AGAIN (While She Had Waited Inside While The Food Was Being Prepared AGAIN Indicated That There Was NOT To Be ANY Bacon On Her "Speciality Burger". So That Is Why The Restaurant Did NOT Get A Five (5) Star Review! ! ! It Was Even More Impactful Due To This Was Ruth's Maiden/Virgin Exposure To Smashburger, That She Could NOT Even Taste A Burger That I Was Gloating Over! ! ! However She Devoured ALL Of The Fries, Sides, And BOTH Of "Our" Delicious Milkshakes! ! ! I want to give this place 5 stars bc I really liked the burgers prices and shakes BUTTT I'm actually getting pissed off that the last 2 times I've been there the burgers are really pink inside. The 1st time I threw the burgers back in the frying pan the 2nd time I requested well done and I get practically done and I'm staring @ pink! Such a turn off I think overall the prices for the burgers are great the Smash fries and shakes are awesome but if they don't start cooking these burgers they will lose a customer read more

Smashburger - Not so well done burger didn't find out until the last few bites so I guess it's ok - Fast Food Near Me - Brick Township, New Jersey

Love smash burger. Great service. Website is a tad confusing sometimes but great food. Personally I'm not a huge fan or the smash fries but I can't wait to go back. read more

This restaurant has been hell since they first opened in Brick. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and what I received was NOT a chicken sandwich, not sure it was even food. The chicken was hard as a rock and it was BLACK. What I received was not edible. I'm not surprised, this isn't the first time I've had a problem with this location. When I called one of the cashiers was nice enough to give me this order for free and the next time. That was the only positive thing. I won't be going to this location anymore. I think they gave me a hockey puck on a bun. read more

I try not to go any place to eat that has less than 30 reviews, so I was not surprised that this venue was certainly not a "Smash". I was hungry....so let me give it a go. My first impression was that it was not very tidy inside. Try to find an empty booth with clean seats. Now, there were hardly any customers present and it took me four tries to find one that wasn't dirty. Francisco was my cashier, whom I might add was very cordial. He was even sympathetic when I politely balked that a half liter water was really $2.29. If you go, get free-pour soda. The burgers come with many embellishments if you want them. Ask if they cost extra, the lettuce tomato and onion are no extra charge but I'm sure they're included in the base price of $5.29. I ordered a turkey burger which by the way was very good. They also offer milkshakes using Haagen Dazs ice cream. I was watching many of the staff walk around in a lackadaisical manner, almost seeming pre occupied with "un-smashing" thoughts with the exception of Francisco. Management should really look into this if they want to thrive. read more

Their quality has definitely gone downhill. I remember coming here a year ago and the shoestring smash fries were the best part of my meal. Now they're huge steak fries that are soggy and barely cooked. I got the chicken avocado club sandwich which was missing the sauce, and the bacon was just a pile of chewy fat. Without a drink, the total came to over $10 because they have no combo option. I only came here because I had a coupon for a buy one get one entree, I wouldn't return for any other reason. read more

Usually I won't go eat at places if they don't have at least four stars. Thankfully fellow foodies here on Yelp have never steered me in the wrong direction. But this place only had three stars but I really wanted to give it a chance. As you can see from my rating this place just didn't cut it as a "quality burger joint". Four burgers with four sides and no drinks cost me $43 . I got the food to go. My ride is five minutes home. In that quick time, the burger which was so greasy made my bun all soggy, and the fries were barely luke warm. Then at the bottom of each bag we were given coupons that had expired in November of 2015, like what the heck is that all about. If it wasn't for the very friendly girl working the register who took my order this place would have only received one star. I could have spent half the money and received far better quality burgers at McDonald's. Moral of my short story is always trust your fellow foodies here at Yelp. If an establishment only has three stars or less it is for a good reasons. read more

My husband has been raving about this place since it opened. The first week, he was eating there just about every single day. So, finally, our schedules worked out and we were able to have lunch together. Even before walking inside, there is a menu on the door so you can decide what you would like to eat. The menu is vast for a burger place, ranging from burgers to chicken to gluten-free items. Toppings seem to be their specialty here as well, and from what I researched, each Smashburger location has at least one burger that is inspired by the "locals". This one would be the Jersey Burger. (Which, I was surprised did not have pork roll!) Anyway, the queue line also has a menu-picture a Surf Taco or a Noodles & Co...so if you are still undecided, you can take your time while you wait. I'd like to add to those also reviewing, and upset about how they run this part of the "experience" to be a little more open-minded. Not everything can be run like McDonald's. Another need-to-know, they do not have a wait staff, so you have to order first, then seat yourself. (They will give you a number for your table, and bring you your food, but that's it.) I only thought to add this because the last time I was here, there were two older women that informed an employee that they had been waiting for 30 minutes to see a menu. That just isn't how it works here. ;) I have ordered take-away twice here, and the people at the counter are always super friendly, knowledgeable and kind. So, as far as service is concerned, it's been great. As far as the food itself, I do love that they offer Sweet Potato fries, but I was a bit disappointed in the portion size. It was basically a half-filled cup. The burgers on the other hand are quite good, but as most say in other reviews, are big on the toppings. SMASHburger gets its name because they use giant meatballs as the burger and literally SMASH it on the grill, which is why they come out so thin. My advice if you want to really taste the beef is to ask for little-to-no toppings, which they will happily do for you. I can't remember the name of the burger that I ordered, but it was the only one that had avocado on it, and it was quite good. My husband always gets the Jersey Burger and adds a fried egg-it's his absolute favorite. Overall, if you want to try something that is just a slight step-up from Five Guys, this is the place. It's still new and I am sure they are still working out the kinks, but it's a great joint, and I hope to see it last a long time! read more

My father loves this place and I have no clue why. We went as a family after a late movie (AMC Lowes is in the same plaza) last Saturday evening and it was three or four customers away from empty. My order for one burger, one chicken sandwich and a milkshake came to $18.50. $18.50! There is no combo; you pay for every individual item-including the fries! The girl at the counter looked miserable and had no customer service skills (didn't know why we were waiting when she forgot to give us the change she had in her hand; mixed up our order). Her coworkers weren't much better. Two of them walked up to our table with orders for other tables and when we told them they weren't ours, they just turned around and walked away. The sandwiches came out quickly, but were less than half impressive. My patty lacked flavor and was really thin. My boyfriend's order made it to the table as a burger instead of a chicken sandwich (easy to get fixed). The milkshake was probably a strawberry flavored powder mixed in some milk. Very artificial tasting. We were there maybe 30 minutes. The three or four customers that came in before us were all gone by the time that we left, but none of their tables had been cleared. Maybe I'm extra, but that grosses me out. Bottom line? There's nothing special here. Skip this place and order some Wendy's. The taste and price are a whole lot better. read more

I love the food ever Sense they opened. The Waitresses are very nice and it is a good place to watch the train and Boats go by.

Though the burgers and fries are delicious, it definitely isn't worth the price. I would have only given it two stars, but I am swayed to three after I requested a root beer float that didn't seem to be on the menu and they were able to accommodate me. For $4.50, comes in a thick mug with extra root beer. Cheers! read more

Terrible service! We ordered pick up for food to be ready at 6:50pm. It is now 7:30pm and food is still not ready. People order from here because it's supposed to be FAST not 40 minutes after your order is supposed to be ready read more

Awful. Expensive. Also, how can you be a burger place and not have turkey burgers? It's not a strange request this day in age. Heck, even Burger King has them. We ordered chicken sandwiches and I make better chicken at home. "Smash" is apparently code for flat, thin and way over priced meat. They were greasy and messy and just overall unpleasant. The rosemary fries were not so bad but not worth going back for. They are very very thin which is nice but you don't get a lot. I wanted to try a milkshake but didn't feel like giving them any more money. The booths were so low, the tables came up to your chest! Overall, the best thing about this meal was the Dr Pepper I got as my drink. No bueno. read more

If I can give them 0 stars I would, I ordered online two burgers and fries. It was done on time but was missing added things from both burgers. When I brought them in the cook told me I was lying and she made the burgers correct. They were completely rude after this, making faces at me and giving attitude. They remade the burgers and made them wrong again. I had to go back into the store for the third time. By then my fries were freezing and I had things on the burger that I'm allergic to. Never going back to this place, I love smash Burger but this location did horrible. read more

I truly had my hopes up that smash burger was going to be good after hearing the local media hype, so I made a special trip after leaving Quaker Steak and ordered a bacon cheese burger to go. The staff was clueless, distracted by who knows what and honestly no one looked like they wanted to be there. My order came quick and I headed out to the car to try the burger. The burger wasn't bad, although it was a bit more salty then I prefer. Just a so-so experience all around. Nothing great, could be worse. read more

everything ive ever ordered here is tasty, milkshakes and fried pickles cant be matched, burgers are great too.

Not my first choice, but the grand kids enjoy it. The meat quality does not seem to be "top shelf". It's okay in a pinch, though.

My wife and I ordered 2 classic big smash burgers one with tots one with large French fries, the burger was tiny but tasty , the fries were dried out shoe string fries and the amount of tots was a joke. Under my burger was some unrecognizable piece of burned substance. Service is very slow, the tables were not clean and the amount of food for the money is poor. Go to five guys they never disappoint and you never leave hungry. read more

Smashburger - Not sure what this is - Fast Food Near Me - Brick Township, New Jersey

I too was excited to see Smash Burger come to town after hearing about it from friends. I ordered the New Jersey burger. The quality of the meat, bun and toppings were good but didn't seem to be anything special. The smash fries with rosemary and olive oil were perfect though, a must have. My son ordered fried pickles which I also thought were good. All and all two burgers, smash fries, 2 drinks and fried pickles cost me 27.00. I thought the price was on the high side but would go back for fries and fried pickles. Staff was friendly and location is clean. read more

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. I ordered the new triple double which is supposed to contain twice the beef and triple the cheese of the classic smash burger. When my burger arrived it was literally one classic smash patty torn in half. I approached the server and asked her to rectify the situation but she told me that the half a patty I showed her was in fact a 5 oz classic smash patty. I then brought up a classic smash patty someone else in my party ordered and compared the two. My patty was clearly half the size and she now admitted it but stated that i misheard her and that the new triple double is actually two 2.5 oz pattys. They still refused to rectify the situation which is straight up robbery. I never received what was paid for. On top of that after ordering I couldn't even find a table to sit at as most of the tables all contained food scraps scattered about them. read more

Great tasting food (lots of salt, no doubt), especially the chicken burgers, but no where close to being a good value. $7.50 for a paper-thin chicken breast! No fries, either. Everyone raves about the smash fries...no clue why. They're shoe-string, and caked in seasoning. The $4.50 milkshakes are the only good thing (value/taste) about SB. This place is great but I wish the management would hire more competent employees. The staff there is very spacey and don't have attention to detail.
