I used Uber eats to try this place for the first time. I ordered the colorado burger with onion rings and my husband ordered the bacon double burger with tots. It was terrible, all of it. I hate to be the one to leave a bad review but we paid $50 and couldn't even finish it because it was HEAVILY salted. We waited 35 minutes for our food, the lady at the counter said the sweet potato fries were too salty and had to be remade, so we had to wait even longer, and the rest of the food was ice cold except the fries. Walked in hoping to dine in. Was told they were not taking in the store orders, only online. No reason given and no sign on the door or at the register. 3 additional customer came in hoping to order. 2 left and one stayed to place online. When I finally placed my order, I was told they didn't have brisket. No refund offered even though it let me place the order online. If I'd been able to order in person, they could've told me that! Worst Experience! First off their app sucks because it wouldn't allow me to use their own gift card to pay. When I get to the restaurant, they have a clear plastic barrier up, which is fine and I get because of the pandemic, but the girl taking the orders has a mask on and was talking super low. I had to ask her several times what was she was saying because I couldn't hear her. Then when I asked her about what she had charged me, she couldn't figure out how to correct it. When my food came she apologized for the wrong charge and told me she gave me an extra side of fries, which was nice, but I didn't want extra fries. Finally the food. The food was HORRIBLE. My burger patties were over cooked and burnt. The tomatoes tasted old and the lettuce was wilted. After a few bites I threw it away. My wife's was not happy with her chicken sandwich either and ended up throwing it away. The fries were over cooked as well and cold. Very disappointing. Definitely will not eat here again. Avondale location is garbage! I went today and waited 15 minutes for the food. When I got home and started eating, the food was disgusting. The restaurant was dirty and only 2 employees in the store. This place is always great to bring the family to eat on a budget. The burgers always have that fresh meat taste and vegetables are very fresh. The service really is outstanding. The clerk was very patient as we ordered for six people. Additionally there was a young man diligently cleaning the tables. When we finished, he respectfully asked if he could gather our empty trays. They have tons of coupon options for discounts, through app, and offer military/first responder discounts. Fed 6 people for $27 !!! The buns are getting a bit smaller but i admire Smash's desire to keep their prices low. The economy is hitting everyone. In particular, the females at the counter are awful and rude. This recent visit, one girl literally threw the SmashTots into the bag. The other girl was wearing gloves and going back and forth between the counter and visiting her friend (an employee from Raising Cane's who walked over); at one point using/checking? the bathroom with the same gloves on. She poured flaming hot whatever snack food into a SmashBurger cup and was eating them while visiting... paying no mind to the customer just trying to pick up the food that was promised (at this point) five minutes prior.
