A full bucket of balls is just $8.00 and small bucket is $4.00. It's very simple, go into the pro shop, pay the fee, a code is on the receipt and take the bucket and code to the shed, enter the code and viola a bucket of balls! There is excellent spacing on the range and the distances to the flags is clearly marked on a map key/legend visible from the practice tees. The practice balls were in good shape and had life to them. A bonus as many ranges the balls are worn out or damaged. The range was clean with no littering anywhere. One pet peeve is the patrons that leave their empty buckets. It's just a short walk to the ball dispenser to return the baskets, really no reason not to do so. While I didn't play the course, I did notice the ranger monitoring players at the start of the first hole , and a clock visible so one could tee off on time. For a first time visit, the facilities were very impressive and I'm looking forward to a return visit.

We had our wedding reception in April at the Aurora Country Club, and couldn't have asked for a…read morebetter experience. Peggy Hess worked with us to make everything we asked for become a reality. She was extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented, but also kind and flexible, giving advice and direction when needed, and deferring to our vision for everything else. From the very first meeting, we were made to feel at home from everyone at ACC. From the start, Peggy stressed that her goal was to make our dream a reality. To that end, at no point were we given a list of standard "packages", instead always being asked open ended questions about what we wanted. This could be seen in the dinner selection, where instead of a pre-selected list of dishes, we were asked by the chef what kind of flavor profiles we were looking for, and then given a large variety of options that fit our preferences. In the end, the dinner we chose was phenomenal. The club itself is absolutely beautiful. The drive up is on a charming tree lined road, and guests are greeted with a welcomingly large and warm foyer as they walk in, complete with a large fireplace. Our cocktail hour was in a separate room from the main dinner, yet there was plenty of space available to mingle and move around before dinner began. Behind the scenes, the men's and women's locker rooms provided great privacy and security for the wedding party to change and freshen up. The main dining room is lined with windows giving a beautiful vista of the golf course and landscape outside. The wait staff was extremely attentive and prompt, following our schedule perfectly. This attentiveness didn't end after dinner was finished; as the night was coming to a close, Peggy noticed the guest count was still pretty high (a testament to our DJ, but that's a different review). Because of this, without prompting, she had the kitchen prepare more late night snack bags so that no one would go home empty handed. We are beyond happy with our experience at the Aurora Country Club, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a customized selection of food and appetizers, an accommodating staff, and an elegant space. You will not be disappointed.

The course is compact - miss a fairway and you're likely on someone else's tee box. Honestly, didn't matter to me either. Here's the shocker - for a par three (majority) course, the greens were the best kept so far this year. I've played Fox Bend, Bliss Creek and Phillips Park this season and and not one had greens that were actually playable. No dead spots, greens were soft, actually green and lacked ball marks. Shocker, right?! Give this place a shot if you're looking for a relaxing round and NOT looking to be rushed by pompous $&&holes - I'm looking at you Oswego residents (Fox Bend).

I own a business and lucky to be open during Covid, my 2 buddies both work in the health care industry. So we finally were able to go out and play some golf. The round started off great. It's a laid backed course no tee times just show up and tee off. It's a learners course if you will. It was my first ever time playing here and during Covid. I'm a lil rusty on the golf rules. It was the 12th hole, we just teed off all three of us got in our carts to follow after our balls. I'm the last one to drive off. As I get to the fairway I hear someone yelling and waving their arms at me. So I assumed one of us let a club at the previous hole. Man, was I wrong. A gentleman in a blues shirt claiming to work there drove up to me yelling saying " hey!!!! U aren't suppose to drive through the "tee box"!!! Mind you he is yelling this and stating he works here. Nothing showing that he works there. No shirt nothing. He had a whole bag of golf clubs in the back of his cart. Normally the person working the course will drive around with no clubs on the back of their cart. Not this guy. I again try to figure out what I did wrong as he is talking down to me as if I'm stupid. He point to the tee box and says. " this is a tee box" u can't drive through this. I said so u mean the white markers for distance I ran over one of those. He's then again talks to me like a child and points to the "tee box" do u not know what a "tee box" is. So I apologized and said it would never happen again it was my fault I'm sorry. I don't know why he was so angry and upset. As I drive away to get my ball I can see 3 teenage kids 2 in the front seat and 1 being pulled around from the cart as if he was skiing. I'm on the 13th fairway the gentleman again in the blue shirt came to up to me stating "I wasn't trying to be an a**hole" I felt very disrespected for being yelled at like a child for an honest mistake. So I tell him "yeah, well you were" and drove off. As I get next to my buddy he (blue shirt) pulls up again trying to apologize cuz he felt guilty. As I return my cart I ask the gentleman at the window if there was a worker Out on the course. Before I can't explain anything, he mentions "tee box" and how I was wrong for driving through it. Again I never said I wasn't wrong. I just didn't appreciate being yelled at be someone who claims to be working there. I tell this to Jeff the gentleman at the window. Jeff even started to get rude with me. Not professional in any way what so ever. He even went as far to say we, me and my buddies are rude and wrong for being a threesum group and having a single behind us we should have let him play through. The single he is talking about is (blue shirt) so.... is he golfing or is he working? Not once did blue shirt ask to play through. We didnt even know anyone was behind us it's a tight course. Jeff didn't want to hear anything I had to say about the situation. He was just rude, very short and down right disrespectful. I'm a paying customer trying to get to the bottom of why a random person playing golf is yelling at me for driving through the "tee box" then to find out he really does work there. Who works there yet is upset we didn't let him play through? The worse first experience I have even been involved with. They obviously don't care about there paying customers. They just want your money, play and leave. Don't waste your time or your money here. For 40$ for 18 and a cart u can find plenty of other courses at that price with way friendly employees.

There are 3 9-hole courses, each with it's own quirks and challenges. I'd argue Lakeside is the hardest, but Woodside has some insanely difficult holes too. Regardless of your skill level, you will enjoy this place. It manages to honor the game but not be the slightest bit stuffy or snotty. Everyone that works here is hospitable and they have fun. Nice selection of drinks from the cart gals. Bartenders and servers are great, and the food is pretty good. Golf staff are great. My son (now 20) took lessons at the Academy as a kid and the lessons were worth every penny. If you are on the fence about this place because of the cost (it's not cheap)- it's worth it. If you're strapped for cash they have a pretty good twilight deal too. Definitely a bucket list course for anyone in Chicago.

First, the positives: the course itself is in great shape. Fairways and greens were…read morewell-maintained, the layout is challenging without being unfair, and there are some genuinely beautiful holes. For pure golf, Cantigny can deliver. The problem is everything that happened between shots. We booked three Friday morning tee times with varying numbers of players in each group. At bag drop, the host seemed less than thrilled by the arrangement and appeared confused about where bags should go. Maybe coordinating three separate tee times was complicated. No big deal--it was a brief interaction, and we moved on. Check-in was smooth enough. At $128 per person with a cart, though, expectations are naturally a little higher than your average muni. Then we arrived at Hole 1. Since golfers can be routed to either Hillside or Lakeside, there was a ranger directing traffic. Unfortunately, he seemed completely overwhelmed by the existence of golfers showing up for their scheduled tee times. Two other groups parked in front of him, and what followed looked less like tee-time management and more like air traffic control during a thunderstorm. We arrived 30 minutes before our tee time and were ready to go, yet nobody seemed sure where to send us. Eventually, we were directed to a tee box and instructed to wait 10 minutes after the group ahead of us teed off. Fair enough. Then, moments later, we got yelled at for not teeing off soon enough. So apparently we were simultaneously too early and too late. Quite an achievement. The group ahead of us was painfully slow. Every hole became a front-row seat to their entire golf experience. We watched every drive, every chunk, every search mission into the rough, and every putt from three different angles. I'm all for golfers of every skill level enjoying the game, but at some point pace of play becomes a group project. What made it frustrating was that we were constantly waiting on them while the ranger seemed fixated on us. I've played a lot of golf and have never seen a ranger appear this frequently. It was like having a very concerned wildlife photographer tracking our migration patterns. Every few holes, there he was. The funny part? We were a threesome of ladies hitting fairways, keeping pace, and generally doing everything golfers are supposed to do. If you're looking for the source of slow play, maybe don't start with the group standing around waiting. The ranger attention continued all day. By Hole 17 (Hole 8 on Lakeside), we were told to hurry up because an outing was starting in 12 minutes. Interesting. If the course knew an outing was scheduled, perhaps that should have been factored into the tee times they sold. It was hard to understand why the pressure was being directed at the group waiting on every shot instead of the group creating the backup. Then came another memorable moment. After a quick bathroom break heading to Hole 10, a van was blocking the only path to the next tee. We tried finding an alternate route and immediately got yelled at again--this time by entirely different personnel. Consistency is important, and Cantigny's staff certainly demonstrated consistency in that department. Initially, I wondered if some of the treatment had a sexist element to it. Later, after speaking with others in our group who experienced similar interactions, it seemed more likely that everyone was receiving the same abrupt treatment. Whether it was sexism, bias, or simply poor customer service, the overall experience left a bad impression. Also, the cart path only on multiple par 5s... NOT COOL! In summary: beautiful course, challenging design, excellent conditions, and a layout worth playing. But for $128 a person, I expect to spend the day focusing on golf, not participating in a live-action customer service obstacle course. Cantigny? Been there, done that, bought the overpriced tee time, and won't be back for a sequel.
