There were a lot of pretty big dead spots on the fairways, but the greens weren't terrible. The driving range was very odd, it only went about 150 yards out before there was a dirt hill, so you couldn't really see any shots further than that. They were friendly in the clubhouse, but the range kept suggesting our twosome join up with another twosome despite never waiting on the tee box or waiting for the group in front or behind us. It felt like they were irritated we hadn't joined up, despite the fact that we weren't slowing down play. We enjoyed our time here, but for the price, I'd look elsewhere.

Lot of work to sink a tee in the ground. However, all the greens were watered and held a good shot, You had to fix ball marks, Greens were fast too, as usual. On the baked out fairways, balls rolled forever. No complaints with that, I didn't encounter much dead grass on approach shots. Nothing to warrant moving the ball, The traps had some of the best sand I've encountered in the area. That course conditions didn't affect our golf, Our lousy swings did that. Settlers has some elevated greens and tee boxes that really make you feel good when you play them well, Probably why we keep coming back, Not enough water jugs on course. No beverage cart. Those are things I can handle. Weekday senior fees of 51 bucks with cart are on the high side.

We rolled the dice and proceeded with the ceremony outside; however, inside, Tonya, our wedding coordinator for the day, was busy setting up the rain location...just in case. I was so impressed with that as it was alot of extra work, but they wanted to be prepared. As it turned out, the weather held out for us and the sun actually came out and shined upon our day. We had a beautiful brunch with breakfast items in one corner, lunch items in another corner, and an omelet and beef carving station along another wall. The food was fantastic! We had so many compliments from our guests. The staff could not have been more accommodating...not a single one of them. Just prior to the ceremony starting, we had guests arrive and not enough chairs...my sister came flying into the building to let Tonya know we were out of chairs. She had those set up in less than 5 minutes and the ceremony started only about 3 minutes late. I can not more highly recommend this place. The gazebo is a beautiful spot for the ceremony, the lobby of the building is very cozy with the marble floors, draperies, and decor, the ballroom is beautifully decorated, the bathrooms were clean, the staff was neat as a pin, polite, and helpful. Juan was who we originally booked with and he was right there every step of the way in the planning stage and handed the baton off to Tonya on the day and it was seamless. We accidently left my Lenox cake knife and didn't realize it until 3 days after the event, I called and they had it for us. I recommend this place 1000%. It was hands down the most economical venue we found, but they don't cut any corners. Perfect...just perfect!!!! Thank you so much!!!!

Let's start with the building itself. The center lobby area is nice, and includes a cozy fireplace area, a nice touch. Bathrooms seem fine to me, they were nice, and also clean the night of our event. The entrance outside could be a little nicer. The room was nice. They included table linens and chair covers which was great. The table decor is very basic so we decided to have something nicer done by Bright Designs. On a tight budget she was able to provide small but nice table florals. Food. We know food is so important. Our event included the first hour of butler passed, and I do wish I would have had trays pass by me more often. I only saw a tray two times during the hour. The crab cake isn't something I'd recommend, it sounded good but did taste like a Sam's club frozen crab cake. The rest of the evening there were several stations set, including a meet carving station, sweet table, and another table that had appetizers and a cheese platter. The meat station was nice, that was good. The sweet table looked very nice, although i didn't try much - I have never loved sweet tables with the fancy desserts, I find they are usually much prettier than they are tasty. Cake- meh. I was pretty disappointed in the cake. While it was supposed to be a smooth finish with ribbon they decided to embellish it. Also, we were planning to put some orchids on the cake to dress it up, and they took it upon themselves to decorate our cake themselves with a bunch of leftover flowers we didn't want on there. It looked rather terrible but we couldn't do anything about it - as the frosting was smooshed under the florals...so when we tried to remove them, they made a mark. Also, the flavor was very bland. It wasn't dry which is good, but just tasted like not to much of anything. Bartender was awesome, I wish I remembered her name. She was very friendly and did a great job. Overall, we had a great party. I think my hesitation between 2-3 stars comes from the only so-so food, and the cake issue. At the end of the night we still had a blast, had good music, friends and family and most important, my parents loved it!

Unless you're hosting an event, GO SOMEPLACE ELSE…read more I understand that this course is a budget option. I don't expect the best course, the best service, the best food, etc. BUT I do expect to play a full round of golf when I book a tee-time a week in advance, show up on time, play quickly, and do my best to be a good customer. I live less than 10 minutes away from this course. I've played here 6 times over the last two months and been to their driving range 4-5 times a week over that same period. It's relatively cheap and I don't expect a lot for the money I've dropped here, but in fairness I have spent a lot here in a relatively short period of time. That said, you couldn't PAY ME to play here again. Two friends and I booked an outing at 9:50AM on Friday. It turned out that Bliss Creek was running a tournament later that afternoon, so we tried to be as accommodating as possible. We decided to scramble to keep things quick. We would have finished even faster, but had to wait for other players. This wasn't a big deal to us as we were having a good time and always assume there's going to be some waiting on a public course where they always book people right on top of each other. We played as fast as we could (9 holes in less than two hours, with a short bathroom / food break before tackling the back 9). After our break, we started the back nine. There was a group waiting there, but they said that we should play through because they were waiting on the rest of their party getting drinks and food. We thanked them and then proceeded to wait on a group of teenagers that was playing in front of them. The teens took a while to play, but again, totally understandable. As we started to play our second shot for the hole, we were informed by one of the staff that we were "in the way" of a tournament and that we would need to skip the next 4 holes in our 18 and that we would be "allowed" to play the first 4 holes again to make up for the holes we had to skip. This didn't make a lot of sense to us as we had just been told to play through by the previous group. The not so subtle message was that WE were doing something wrong from the clubs perspective. No apology was offered for booking us on top of the tournament and no attempt was made to make things right for us. I totally understand that mistakes happen, but this mistake was not ours. Once we made our way to the front 9 to finish our round of 18 by doing the first four holes over again, we were again informed by another individual that we were in the way and we would need to let people play through. Also, we needed to "hurry up" and get through our next 4 holes as fast as possible. Again, the same message that we did something wrong and that we were in the way. Again, no apology was offered, and no attempt was made to make things right. I want to be clear. We were playing very fast for a threesome. I regularly shoot just above 100 and the other two people were scrambling behind me and sometimes skipping shots altogether. I doubt many threesomes would make better time. We weren't drinking or being a nuisance. We were respectful of other players, the course, and the game. We were dressed nicely, spending money, and tipping everyone we interacted with; from the person serving food to the person driving the concessions cart. For most businesses, we are the ideal customers. We spend, we're understanding, and we rarely complain. However, it's obvious that we are not wanted at Bliss Creek, so we are looking for a new golf course to call home.

I have played this course multiple times when visiting family and have zero complaints. Rounds…read morefinished in 4 hours regardless of the time. Peggy Hess worked with us to make everything we asked for become a reality. She was extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented, but also kind and flexible, giving advice and direction when needed, and deferring to our vision for everything else. From the very first meeting, we were made to feel at home from everyone at ACC. From the start, Peggy stressed that her goal was to make our dream a reality. To that end, at no point were we given a list of standard "packages", instead always being asked open ended questions about what we wanted. This could be seen in the dinner selection, where instead of a pre-selected list of dishes, we were asked by the chef what kind of flavor profiles we were looking for, and then given a large variety of options that fit our preferences. In the end, the dinner we chose was phenomenal. The club itself is absolutely beautiful. The drive up is on a charming tree lined road, and guests are greeted with a welcomingly large and warm foyer as they walk in, complete with a large fireplace. Our cocktail hour was in a separate room from the main dinner, yet there was plenty of space available to mingle and move around before dinner began. Behind the scenes, the men's and women's locker rooms provided great privacy and security for the wedding party to change and freshen up. The main dining room is lined with windows giving a beautiful vista of the golf course and landscape outside. The wait staff was extremely attentive and prompt, following our schedule perfectly. This attentiveness didn't end after dinner was finished; as the night was coming to a close, Peggy noticed the guest count was still pretty high (a testament to our DJ, but that's a different review). Because of this, without prompting, she had the kitchen prepare more late night snack bags so that no one would go home empty handed. We are beyond happy with our experience at the Aurora Country Club, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a customized selection of food and appetizers, an accommodating staff, and an elegant space. You will not be disappointed.
