Pretty good burger. 2nd visit I came by a week later to try a burger with bacon and onion rings. Sadly I was greeted by a for rent sign in the window. The suite was redecorated with aliens and pastel pink that you can't miss from the streetside. The business was operating as a mobile food truck for a while before setting up these new digs. Countertop seating was available inside and outside on the sidewalk. There were also a few small tables across from the service counter. The menu featured three kinds of smash cheeseburgers... Single, Double, and Tasting. The last one included chopped jalapeño and two house made sauces. A grilled cheese sandwich and a puppy patty were the other main items. Fries, onion rings, and jalapeno poppers were offered as sides. Two desserts and soft drinks rounded out the menu. I selected a Single which was a quarter pound 80/20 ground beef patty topped with cheddar cheese, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato, and Out of This World sauce. A side of Onion Rings was also a part of my order. While I sat on a stool at a countertop, a worker brought out cups of Out of This World Sauce and Hot Honey Chipotle Mayo for dipping the onion rings that came as a quantity of ten pieces. I liked the chipotle mayo better because of the hot and sweet flavor profile. The burger was served separately in a cardboard dish lined with waxed paper. The edges of the patty were crispy from grilling. I thought it was a good product, but there is a lot of competition along Garnet Ave for Smash and Stack. read more

Had lunch at Smash and Stack today. Found it based on the reviews, and it did not disappoint. I had the Taste San Diego and the softness, combined with the crunchy and the cheesy, was so perfect. I absolutely loved their burger!! I would definitely go here again and highly recommend if you're looking for a good place to eat. Also, their sauces were really good. The universe aligned tonight and guided my friend and I to Smash and Stack. We were walking down Garnet talking about how we were craving a good smash burger, and no more than a minute later we stumbled across this large pink building. We were greeted by Joel and Geraldo, and after a few minutes of chatting we decided to give it a try. The amazing menu options made for one of the hardest decisions in my lifetime, but after some heavy contemplation a decision was made: Tasting San Diego burger with a side of waffle fries. After placing our order, we took a stroll around the premises - beautiful artwork on the walls and a patio with tables out back for some fresh air. I plan on coming back with my computer sometime to work from the patio. Maybe it will make the work days a little more tolerable if I'm catching up on some emails while enjoying a great burger... Genuinely THEE best burger I've ever had. The patty is juicy and flavorful, and the toppings taste very fresh. The out of this world sauce was the perfect compliment to the burger. My fiancé and I got a double smash burger, their tasting San Diego burger which has chopped jalapeño poppers inside it and the space fries. Out of the 3, the space fries were by far the standout. A lot of new burger joints that have loaded fries seem to try and copy in-n-out's animal style fries and this is the first place I've been to that outshines them. One thing I will say is that their burgers are absolutely incredible however adding pickles to their base burger would take it into the stratosphere! As for service it could not have been better! It wasn't too busy when we went and we were immediately greeted by the manager who made us feel like automatic friends instead of just customers, and we felt very welcomed. He seemed genuinely interested in getting to know us and introduced us to the other manager and the chef and continued to check in on us throughout our meal. Highly attentive and personally curated service. The ambiance inside is also great, the bright pink exterior definitely makes this place easy to spot and the uniquely decorated inside makes you immediately understand what this company is about and that they're just here to put out great food and great vibes. First off, I was pumped to hear that a local smash burger food truck was opening up in Bonita. Close to the golf course right in the parking lot of the old La Finca de Adobe restaurant that closed down. More burger spots especially smash style and good ones are needed down south. I was able to go during grand opening weekend and came around lunch time. Lots of parking and the ambiance is like what you'd expect for a food truck. Luckily there was no line when I arrived but all the tables were full. So the kitchen was busy and I had to wait a few minutes before I could place an order. The owner was super nice and apologized for the wait. I order a few of their smash burgers and fries. When the food was ready, I was excited to finally try it. Unfortunately as much as I wanted to love the food, the burgers and fries were a little underwhelming. My thoughts: - I felt the proportions of meat to bun to ingredients to condiments was off. It was a lot of meat which usually is a plus if you care about portions but I think the amount of meat just overpowered everything else. Meat quality was good though! - There were barely any onions on all the burgers I ordered. - The house sauce was bland and tasted too much like straight mayo - Although I did like the flavor of their waffle fries, they were all lukewarm which told me they maybe had been sitting out for a while under a heat lamp that maybe couldn't keep them at a good temp I definitely plan to go back again and hopefully some of this could be that they're still trying to work out the kinks.
