Well, what a convenient surprise finding this taco truck right next to a smog check center on Grand Ave, PACIFIC BEACH. Parking if you're lucky. I'm not local so maybe you will know where to park. Friendly service. Quite an extensive menu, including adobada tacos, burritos and sea food choices. I think it's worth checking out. They seemed to have regular customers. Covered seating and hand sanitizer available. The adobada taco was six dollars at this time~ July 2025, which was a bit pricey. However, I did need a fork to eat most of it before I could pick it up. The fresh lime brightened the taco perfectly. I would request cilantro next time. It was substantial with plenty of meat on two yellow corn tortillas and spicy goodness in the flavor department. No slack on the seasoning here. Lots of finely diced tomatoes, and a guacamole sauce.. I'd probably give it five stars if I've tried a few more items. This seems like a hot spot for a quick seafood tacos, burritos and etc. read more

What a fun little find! If you're dubious about ordering seafood from a food truck - don't be! The menu is diverse, offering cooked as well as fresh options in all combinations of seafood, and the portions are so generous. I ordered the mixed ceviche, and was particularly impressed with the tenderness of the octopus, which I usually find tough and chewy. The flavors are well-melded and refreshing, and a splash of hot sauce really does the trick. We also ordered the Saturday Daily Special, which is a 24 oz cocktail, and chose the Campechano. Unfortunately, it seems the daily special version does not come with an oyster on the shell, which was one of our main reasons for checking out the business. However, the cocktail was very good. As someone who had never tried one before, I was interested in the distinct clamato flavor and enjoyed dipping the crackers in the liquid. This dish also came with a wider variety of seafood, including scallops, but we suspect a couple other ingredients (like the oyster) may have been omitted for the daily special. I do wish that the tostadas and chips were higher quality, as I found them to be somewhat stale, and neither the ceviche nor the cocktail can be eaten without these. Overall, it's a fun, casual place to fill up on a good bite if you're in the area! read more

Incredibly flavorful, fresh and delicious food. The tacos were big in size and flavor. The aguachile was spicy just how I like it and it just hit the spot after a hot day walking around. **February 2024: Sunday Afternoon** My friend and I were on the hunt for some delicious Mexican food as one of my favorite trucks was no longer around. Given the high reviews I had high hopes that this would be a good replacement and I can confidently say yes! The truck is located in the same parking lot as a gas station and there's a tent covering a small seating area in front of the truck. It's a very casual setting, but perfect to My friend and I contemplating on a number of items, and ate the following. Shrimp/Octopus Ceviche ($21 - big sharing plate/ ideal of 2 people): This was a fantastic, refreshing, and generous item to share. My friend and I were only able to eat half of it (We took the remainder home to eat for dinner). The chef asked if we wanted the shrimp prepared in lime or boiled and we selected the former - IMHO it's definitely the way to go. The dish comes with a half avocado, limes, cucumber, onions, tomatoes etc as well as firm tostados to scoop up the ceviche to enjoy. Octopus Taco ($8): Regular. I want to say it was prepared with a garlic sauce and I really liked this octopus. It had a nice firm texture that wasn't rubbery, and worked well with all the taco ingredients. Soup: The owner gave out a complimentary seafood soup while we waited for our items. It came out pippin hot and was very flavorful It has a little bit of a kick, but that didn't stop my friend from devouring it. Summary: Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and would be happy to come back and try more! read more

I was excited to try this place because surfers I met out in the water gave their tuesday special rave reviews. It was just okay... +making fish tacos accessible to the PB area +hot sauce options +nice presentation +my friends and I easily fit at one of the picnic tables, well lit at night -took 25+ minutes for my order -were out of napkins, had to ask twice -the fried fish itself was a bitter, not sure if it's the oil or the batter -$20+ for my aguaschiles ceviche, might as well go to a sit down restaurant like karina's. Amazing flavor and freshness.. was a bit skeptical because it's in the parking lot of a smog check place but man oh man I was pleasantly surprised. I got the mix ceviche and my husband got the crazy mix ceviche and wow... flavorful fresh not fishy and old tasting like most places. Ended up grabbing 2 tacos to end it and my favorite was the spicy shrimp and octopus taco... and the fact that they dont use the white tortillas for the tacos is a big plus. Any place that uses those automatic fail in my book. Thank you for the good food and great service will definitely be back when in San Diego. read more

This place has the absolute best spicy octopus taco I have ever had! It is so amazing! The octopus is so tender and the spice is just enuf to let you know it's there, but not enuf to make you stop! It is a lot of taco too! If you are hungry, you can eat two, but otherwise I recommend only one. Maybe another taco to round out your meal, but two of the octopus is a lot of food! I have not tried the ceviche for myself yet, but have tasted it when others have ordered it. So good, but I can't stop ordering the spicy octopus taco. I'm only in town a couple of times a year, but I always stop by here. Highly recommend this place! read more

5 Stars - Worth Every Mile! We drove 40 minutes just to try this hidden gem--and let me tell you, it was so worth it. Supporting small businesses is important to us, and this one completely blew us away. The fish tacos? INSANE. The fish was so fresh it practically melted in your mouth, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The flavors were clean, vibrant, and authentic--exactly what you dream of when you think of coastal Mexican food. And don't even get me started on the shrimp ceviche. It's to die for. Tangy, fresh, loaded with flavor, and so refreshing--honestly one of the best we've ever had. You can taste the love in every bite. We also tried the shrimp burrito, and wow. Packed, flavorful, and seriously satisfying. Everything about this place screams quality and heart. If you're on the fence--go. Such a yummy hidden food truck! I asked what's popular and was recommended to get the ceviche (got the shrimp) and it was delicious. I got a Cali burrito, and my friends got the adobada burrito and tacos - all great reviews. Highly recommend! Parking is limited due to the area but there's street parking nearby, and outdoor seating under a canopy. Great service! read more

This has been our Tuesday dinner choice for the last year! Their crazy and mixed ceviche is so fresh and amazing and even on special on Fridays. We go on Tuesdays for their fish taco special for the kids but my husband and I have been opting for the ceviche and sometimes do a Friday lunch date just to have more. Taking it home is still great (we live nearby) but eating on the spot (they serve it in a cute bowl) is way worth it! They have amazing hot sauces in their fridge too so everyone gets to customize it their way. Owner is super friendly and always willing to give recommendations. Oh and they sometimes give you their delishicious cabbage soup while you wait... It's the best in winter but love it just the same in summer. Recommend them to everyone I know! read more

I was dying for some mexican seafood, and used to eat here last year when it was still Kiko's. I noticed right away the menu had changed and it was quite a bit more Expensive. Fish tacos are now $375.00 and used to be $1.99. We had 2 shrimp tostada's and 2 baja fish tacos (no drink) and the total was $24.90. Seems like alot of money! I am sorry to say that the food was ok, but not great. I could tell the ceviche tostada's tasted different and the fish taco was just ok. I feel Kiko's was better and less expensive. read more

First and foremost, the broth was a bit too wine-y and felt they could have cooked it down a little more to rid the alcohol taste. The amount of clams was generous. They were cleaned pretty well (very little grit found) and cooked nicely. The toasted bread helped get down the broth but still the wine flavor was overpowering. I'd like to come back and try some fish and chips but after this experience I'm not in a rush for it. Until the next review....

Last year around this time we peeked our head in to see the space, but didn't stay. Located upstairs, the venue is large and well-lit, with windows overlooking Pacific Beach and the boardwalk. When we arrived, we were greeted by a local patron at the bar. He noticed my 49ers hat and made a joke about keeping me and the owner away from each other, because he is also a Niners fan. Immediately loved the vibes. There were a decent amount of people there for it being Christmas Eve, but it was still pretty open. We were seated at a long high-top table for our group of 7, with one kid. The restaurant was all decorated for the holidays, and they had a pop-up situation with some fun themed drinks and even a giant inflatable igloo for people to play in! We ordered a variety of beverages, many from the "Tinsel & Tides" menu, including the Candied Cranberry Punch, Maple Smoked Old Fashioned, and Spiced Peartini. All of which were fun, and received positive feedback on taste. In addition to the holiday drinks, they have quite an extensive list of around 14 cocktails, and 2 mocktails. The cocktail prices range from $15 - $18, and even have fun little photos on the menu next to the description. They have a section of 6 specialty margaritas, over a dozen canned beverage options, and over 2 dozen beverages on draft. You can find an entire page of wine options. From bubbles, to rosé, to whites and reds. You can buy it by the glass or the bottle. Beyond drinks, there's a nice looking food menu. Mostly seafood and Asian inspired, the menu featured items such as crispy calamari, crab Rangoon dip, ahi tuna poke, ceviche, sashimi, and various sushi rolls. There are several soup and salad options, as well as a dozen or so entree options, and a half dozen side dishes such as fries, coleslaw, veggies, and mac & cheese. There's also a brunch menu, which is available Saturday & Sunday from 9am - 2pm, and includes some boozy drink options like a Bloody Mary and bottomless mimosas. There are around 8 entree options, and another 8 or so brunch themed sides. While we didn't get to try the food this time around, the menu looked good enough that we are planning to come back for a legit meal. There is an "Oyster and Martini Wednesday" from 3pm to close, where oysters are 50% off, and martinis are $10. We happened to be there on a Wednesday, however the deal wasn't applicable due to the holiday. Our server, Destiny, was friendly and helpful with info and drink recommendations. The vibes were great here, and everybody was very welcoming. This is definitely a place we'll be adding to the regular rotation during our trips to PB! IG: @bbnem.eats
