She knew what products to use on me and how long to process my hair and the formula to use on my long hair.. however she left me under the dryer for an hour which should have been 15 minutes and she didn't even check on me the whole time under the dryer..needless to say I've lost 6 inches of hair and she kept blaming it on everything but the facts HER!! she did it and another client saw this as well and even vocalized her opinion because she was as shocked as myself* Kim is and was the BEST....and this woman's terrible I mean not even an apology as she brushed my hair and it just kept falling out which is a big deal especially to a woman. As I started getting recommendations from friends and family and began making phone calls, it became very apparent that no one understood how I wanted my hair done, knew how to do it nor was it their specialty. I also had a few failed attempts at allowing people to do my hair only to end up very disappointed. However, I got a referral to see Annetta at Escapades and I haven't looked back since. Upon arriving at Escapades, I was impressed with the layout of the salon and the professionalism of the staff. Once I met Annetta, I knew I was going to end up happy because she took the time to talk to me which was very important. She did not try to come across as if her way was best as she was open to hearing what has and hasn't worked in the past, which was very important to me. She truly wanted to have an understanding of what I wanted. I have very thick long hair and it is important that my hair remain healthy, which was something that Annetta mentioned right away. I have not been disappointed with how my hair turns out each time. Annetta uses high quality products which aid in promoting healthy hair, she recommends treatments that coincide with the weather and/or are needed at the time and she ALWAYS takes her time. She does not stack appointments where you are sitting in the salon for hours on end. I'm typically out of the salon within 2 hours max which is a big deal to me. I feel that Annetta is equally as good as my last stylist in Los Angeles and was a very rare find. I recommend her to anyone that ever compliments or asks about my hair. I honestly don't know what I would do without her. This "Master colorist" with "41 years " experience is a joke. She not only did a terrible uneven, poorly placed foil job, she doesn't understand the basic chemistry of what she's doing. I initially reached out 4 days later to let her know i was not happy with the work. I sent her pictures and she accused me of doing something to my hair. It turned out the lighting was bad making the pictures appear even worse than it was. She didn't reply anymore. The next day I sent pictures taken outside in daylight and some with my hair washed and styled. I explained the previous pictures must have been due to the lighting. I requested a refund of the color portion. She didn't respond. So last night I called her out on her lack of knowledge and professionalism and filed a complaint with my credit card company to get my money back. I was going to let her keep the tip but not now.

Mitchell's Salon & Day Spa was a great experience for me, my sister, and 5 other girls who all got…read moremassages as part of my sister's Bachelorette party weekend in May 2026. They kindly gave us a private room to hang out in and eat snacks and drink champagne and also gave us access to their fridge to store food in for the 4 hours we were there. I would recommend Mitchell's if you are looking for a great spa experience for large groups like a Bachelorette party. There are 5 locations scattered around the Cincinnati area. It is quite luxurious inside, located on the second floor, on top of The Container Store, and offers a wide array of products and services for sale. I didn't buy any products but others in my group did. I did pay for a 60 minute full body massage which cost about $90ish dollars. I haven't had a massage of any kind in about 5 years and, as a jogger, I have some pretty intense knots. My masseuse, Ryan, was kind and most importantly, had strong hands! It wasn't the best massage I have ever had but I do think it was worth the money I paid for the 60 minute session. We all had a wonderful time and felt relaxed and refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of the activities planned for the Bachelorette weekend. Side note: By no fault of Mitchell's, we chose to go to Kings Island the next day after our massages and made our backs sore again from the rough and jerky roller coasters! Whoops!

I looked around Cincinnati and found that…read moremassage studios that offer massages for two are surprisingly rare, so I was fairly happy to see that Mitchell's Salon & Day Spa provided them for a reasonable price. The booking process was certainly interesting. In order to schedule a couple's massage, you have to purchase a gift card and then call to schedule. You cannot purchase a massage directly through the website- you must buy a gift card, as that is the only option Mitchell's offers to book a massage for two. This is not clearly delineated on the website, but after I managed to purchase my gift card and call in, the woman I spoke to on the phone was very polite and helpful. She took my gift card number and told me she applied it to the massage, so all I had to do was show up hand in hand with my partner. It does seem like their schedule books quickly, so I would definitely plan a little further ahead if I were to come here again- which I won't, and I'm getting ready to explain why. When my partner and I arrived to check in, front desk was not knowledgeable about what they were doing. The receptionist in training (as it said on her name tag), led me to the locker room and pointed out where I should go once I had changed, but failed to do the same for my partner, who had never been to a spa before and was unsure of the protocol. I should also note that front desk never once asked either of us for payment. The massages themselves were wonderful- Julie and Toni were our masseuses, and it was a heavenly experience. They were super polite and very talented. No complaints on that front. What I DID have an issue with was being called the morning after my massage telling me that I hadn't yet paid, despite being told upon booking that I didn't have to worry about paying and never once being asked for payment during the actual appointment. But I have a gift card, so whatever. No big deal, right? Wrong. I gave the lady who called my gift card code- only for her to tell me I owed another $13 on top of the gift card balance. $13! I've already paid $200.51 PLUS a 25% tip for each masseuse. What could I possibly owe thirteen dollars for? We didn't add any extras to our massage. The receptionist tells me that the $13 is to cover taxes. Now I'm irritated because you have called me at work and interrupted my day to try and pry another $13 out of me for taxes, when I have never ONCE in my life had to pay taxes on top of a gift card. If Mitchell's requires you to pay extra taxes, then they should INCLUDE THAT IN THE PRICE OF THE GIFT CARD. It was so unprofessional and frankly just irritating that this is an issue. Imagine if you got a massage gift card for someone and they show up thinking everything is covered, only to be extorted for more cash once the gift card has been applied. A salon of this price and size should not be nickel and diming like this. It's pathetic and embarrassing to treat your customers this way. This customer service experience has been incredibly disappointing, frustrating, and just all around awful. Needless to say I will not be returning. I simply cannot believe that after paying $200.51 plus tip, Mitchell's has the gall to come after me for taxes on top of a gift card where taxes should have been factored into the original price of the card. I mean really and truly, what the heck? Update: I spent my break looking at their website and calling. Their website states that tax is included in the price of the gift card, so I was able to get the surcharge comped after speaking to receptionist. She told me that one of the masseuses is at a "higher level" and that means that they charge more for tax? Whatever, I'm just glad that they took care of it. They asked if I wanted to tip (after I had already tipped, lol). Still won't be back but my opinion of their customer service has increased ever so slightly. Bottom line: massages here are amazing. Customer service, not so much.
