The manicure was the worst. The woman cut my nails all lopsided and awkward. The paint job, a french manicure, must have been modeled after a very cheap part of France. They didn't even let us dry out nails before we left, so of course they got messed up. Sadly, the haircut story is worse. After cutting my hair about 2.5 inches shorter than I requested (leaving me looking like a mushroom), the stylist told me she didn't have time to dry or style it (although my appointment was for a cut and style). She was the worst. THE WORST! When I went up front to pay, they still had me pay for a "style" job despite me standing there with dripping hair while my too- busy "stylist" sat texting on her phone. Apparently, they didn't have pricing for "just a cut." I'll drive downtown, east, or north before coming here again.

They are so short that they won't even lay down. It's absolutely the worst haircut I have ever received in 52 years. I had explained that I had trouble growing my hair so I didn't want much taken off and not to cut my bangs. Next thing I know she pulls my hair up and chopped them off. There was only maybe an inch left of them. I don't know any reputable hair stylists that would ever do anything like this. I am. Now stuck with pinning my banks back with Bobby pins as there is no other option at this point. I will never return to this salon! Even after emails and texts she has refused to respond. Very unprofessional and the worst hairdresser I have ever been to. With all the other salons around , take my advice and never go to her. You will be highly disappointed. It was just a nightmare.

I sat and listened to the conversations and unlike other salons I've been to here and in my native Chicago, where women tend to go to the same salon for years, here it's all superficial fluff. These people are as phony as a $3 bill. They don't want to know you; they just want your money. And they tend to be super conservative... The receptionist even tried to tell me how much to tip! The color was decent, but the cut was flat, no volume or bounce. Worse, when you try to tell them how you like to wear your hair they get pissed off! They walk on water in their minds. They do not care what you think or what you want. Their products are overpriced, but they never recommend them, anyway. Most stylists will suggest styling products to help you at home. Again, they don't care once you walk out of there. My stylist was full of herself, always bragging about what a great stylist she was. Thank God I found a better place that's only a few minutes further but well worth it. At Hair Forum, they stick you with whoever has the fewest appointments. (Wonder why). My current salon goes through the stylists' varied experience and prices and seeks to match you with someone who will work with you. It's perfect because it's a collaboration, not being stuck with a dictator.
