Never will I rent from the Coral Gables location again and I urge you not to either. The elevators…read moreare a lifeline to their business and they never work. The day we moved in there, one elevator was working and it was packed because the day before, neither elevators were working. This is unacceptable. Then, about a month and a half into our service, I got an email move out notice, telling me they appreciate our business and have moved out our items. This was obviously a mistake and it was meant for somebody else but that sent me into a panic and though I called over there, it took a while for someone to contact me back. Lastly, August 1 was our move out day and not only is it the first of the month, but also a weekend and we flew from our home city to work on the move out, rented a U-Haul and hand truck, only to find out the elevators are out of service!! We are on the seventh floor, so it's not possible to remove any of our items. Obviously, another big problem and totally unacceptable. Currently, we are halfway into Sunday and elevators are still are not working and we can't get any answers as to if they're working on them. This not only forces us to spend more money, but disrupts our everyday as we have to go back to work tomorrow, Monday and have flight flights scheduled back to our home city. Our entire weekend, it was scheduled around our move out, has been completely disrupted and ruined. It is definitely the perfect storm and the worst situation.

I already have a CubeSmart storage unit in Lake Worth, so it was interesting to see what another…read morelocation was like. This location was so much nicer than mine! In fact, it even has a gated parking lot where you can pull you car directly up to the entry to the main building where the air-conditioned units are located. This is such a nice feature, knowing your car and belongings are safe (mine doesn't have any dedicated parking near my unit. people just park in front of other people's storage units and hope it doesn't block anyone!) Did I mention that the building has sliding glass doors?! This is super convenient when moving stuff. I came here to help a friend, and since the gated parking was limited, I pulled up my car to the non-gated area, where there was no one else parked, and I was able to pull the trunk of my car directly in front of another set of sliding glass doors. Rolling carts were ample and easy to find. The keypads worked flawlessly. Finding the unit was easy, and the hallways did not seem as narrow and claustrophobic as mine. All in all, seeing another unit definitely gives more points to the CubeSmart brand.

I wrote back asking if it's $50 as quoted for work that would take less than an hour or $100. I got no response. I wrote this review. The owner contacted me to apologize. I'm giving extra stars for that. I am always out to support small businesses.

The only reason I'm knocking off a star is because the price increased a few months after we started storing items here. Unfortunately we can't move in on the same day, so Anton's offered an overnight storage for $100, which was very reasonable, because we didn't have to pay for additional loading and unloading time in the storage. (Good call in hindsight) I thought the point of a storage unit was for them to provide me with a clean and dry place to store my goods. I soon learned that wasn't true. In September, we got a bit of rain with that fake hurricane. I didn't check on my unit, as I didn't have any need to go inside. A few weeks later, my brother went to get something for me and my whole unit was flooded. I had electronics galore including a camera system and RFID chip entry system that were ruined and wooden desks that got swollen from the moisture. My leather couch molded - yes, of course I cleaned it off but that musty smell never goes away. Those were just the large items I mentioned. They never even offered to move me (when I finally asked, they said they didn't have any units available), they never offered even $1 off my rental, they never put fans to help dry it. It took several weeks for them to fix the problem. I felt bad for the manager because I could tell she was speaking to corporate on our behalf but her hands were tied. The only I gave two stars was because the manager was really nice and at least made an attempt to keep me informed of the repair progress. Full disclosure: I did get reimbursed from the insurance company but $2k doesn't cover even close to what I lost. Be careful renting here.

The location is convenient, the facility is always extra clean and the staff is consistent and always ready to assist. The units are also climate controlled. You can purchase storage related materials like tape, boxes and other packing goods at the office and they will loan you a flatbed cart to wheel your items as long as you leave your ID as collateral until the cart is returned. The parking area, which is secure, is indoors so there is no fear of getting wet when loading or unloading items. The two downsides about this location (and likely all Value Store It locations), is that (1) every year the prices go up on your unit. Regardless of how many years you've been a loyal customer or have consistently paid in a timely manner, the price of the unit (doesn't matter the size) increases by about five dollars. Additionally, (2) it would be helpful if they had a dumpster or some other large garbage bin to discard items while you clean up your unit.
