My Maytag wash machine stopped working today. It had no power. I tried the circuit breakers and the unplugged and plugged back in method. Nothing worked. It's a top loading machine and since it was washing, it was locked. I couldn't access the serial number or model which was located under the locked lid. We purchased it a little more than a year ago from Lowe's in Chico. After two hours on hold for Maytag, I was informed that after a year, they only replace the basket and drive motor. Labor or other parts are not included. I was then transferred to their repair service only to find out it is in Davis and not in our area. I had to call for service. The very nice man had me get a hair dryer to check the outlet. Guess what, it was only that outlet. Our dryer was working on the next outlet over. After a extension cord and some moving of the water filled wash machine, I was back in business. Thank you so much!!! read more

Electrolux scheduled a repair with Smart Tech for my washing machine that was not working. I got a repair window. And then shortly before the service, I got a call from Smart Tech letting me know they couldn't honor the original date and reschedule it. A nice repair technician came (Richard) but he just went through the main control board to run diagnostics and said everything looked fine. Note, Electrolux online help previously had me checking codes (which cleared them). After he left, the machine started having the same non-draining problem. Called back and person on the phone said they would order a part (new drain pump) and then reschedule. A couple weeks later I call back and they say they haven't ordered part and will check with service tech again. After I call back again after being ignored for a few days I can't reach them by phone and they send a text saying to just call Electrolux back. Totally useless and a waste of my time. Over a month later and my machine still doesn't work. read more

Update: So the technician finally submitted his report to my warranty company and as American Home Shield read the report to me, it's like he doesn't detail problems from the correct microwave. He's saying it's loud, when in fact it's so quiet. It sounds like it's shorting out. And so.....they denied my claim because of it!!! So here's a video taken today for proof for everyone to see what a garbage technician dx this is. If this were to cause a fire, I'd be coming for you. Sure asf. My washing machine threw an error about draining. When I contacted Miele, they recommended Smart Tech as their authorized repair center for this area. Smart Tech charged $175 to come in and do a diagnosis. It's the first ever repair or service shop that I have come across that required a prepay of the fee before confirming the appointment which was several days out. But that's not the reason for the 1-star review. When the tech came, despite being an authorized repair shop, he did not seem very familiar with the machine (it is 10 years old). He didn't know how to activate test mode in the menu (I don't either but the next tech I called knew how it's done). After working on it for a while, he was unable to find the problem and eventually called Miele who, based on what they discussed, told him it was likely a faulty valve. The tech said the valve was discontinued and I would have to replace the machine. The tech said they would send a writeup immediately on leaving, but I only got the writeup 2 or 3 days later. Meanwhile, I was dejected with the news but as a last ditch attempt I called another shop that I had used in the past. When that tech came in, he said the machine was working fine and there was just a clog in some of the pipes inside the machine. He cleaned out the pipes and the machine has been working fine with daily use for several weeks now. Basically this shop charged me $175 and almost caused me to trash a perfectly working washing machine. It's so disappointing that Miele has chosen such a shop to be their authorized repair center for this area. read more

Fidelity home warranty company dispatched smart tech appliance to fix our dishwasher. The tech Damon showed up during the scheduled time, diagnosed the issue immediately, and fixed the problem. He was courteous and explained everything including how to avoid this problem in the future. I'd use smart tech appliance again! read more

Frigidaire dispatched Smart Tech Appliance Repair to fix my oven glass that exploded. They were NOT a good company to work with at all. They did not respect the date Frigidaire scheduled for me. They were uneducated, didn't read the work order, didn't even order the glass needed until a week AFTER I sent them the information for it, they didn't tell me they ordered it and shipped it to my house, then they didn't even get me scheduled until a week AFTER it was delivered to my home, which means I was not able to use my oven for nearly three weeks after I reached out to have this resolved. They continuously told me they could not guarantee a time the technician could come out, then they finally scheduled me for 2pm, and said the tech could come up to 2 hours before or after that time frame. Well the tech didn't show until 6pm (4 hours after the appt) while I was in the middle of cooking dinner on my stove top for my family. SMH. Which means I had to cook around him working because they were beyond late. Highly unprofessional. Then to top it off, the tech had to look up a video on the glass installation because he didn't know how to service the model I had, even though they had over two weeks to prepare after I provided them with the model and serial number. Awful experience with this company! Based out of California, they attempted to do business in Florida as well and we had the most unprofessional, unethical, untrained and arrogant "technician" sent to our home named Rick. He not only didn't fix the simple issue with our LG water maker, that was still under warranty, which was simply just replacing a corroded switch that kept getting stuck, but he also managed to damage Both doors of our refrigerator as he didn't know how to remove the panel And Left pooled water on our wood, pushing the refrigerator back on top of it and damaged our floors dropping his tools. When an actual legit LG tech finally came out, She was in disbelief of what he had done and she noticed that he also took a part of the fridge he was not supposed to take with him. She showed and explained what an easy fix it was from the beginning and how badly he screwed things up. She helped report him to LG, but I doubt it did any good because his boss with this company, Chris was just as bad as he was, not taking accountability for what happened even though I have it all on video and was very unprofessional and defensive as well. It is very clear that this company is not only unethical, but also not properly certified and trained. Hoping this review saves somebody from the horrible experience we had to endure. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! First American Home Warranty assigned them to fix my dishwasher on 7/7. When I hadn't heard from them I called on 7/10. I was told Smart Tech had to order the part and would come on 7/17. I then got another call asking which arm top or bottom for dishwasher. I called back spoke with someone and also texted them it was the top dishwasher arm. On 7/17 no one showed. I called First American and was told Smart Tech never ordered the part but would be here 7/21. I called Smart Tech today 7/18 no response. Smart Tech called me back and left a voice mail they need my cell phone carrier???!!!! HOW ABOUT FIXING MY DISHWASHER? THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD!!!! Called to have fridge repair, charged a $100 for service, Dave walked in and said it's the compressor, didn't check anything. Told us it was under warranty from LG, said he would get authorization from LG. And then he called a couple of days later and said he was not authorized to work on LG in our area. So we asked him to return our $100.00 and he said absolutely not going to return the service fee! When we called for the appointment we were asked what brand and what they were going to service!!!! We needed help with a gas oven that would not ignite. About 5 years ago, we had the same problem with this stove (more about that later). Smart Tech Appliance Repair set an appointment with us, on a Monday. We received a confirmation call the previous Friday. The technician, Chris showed up on time. He tested and replaced the igniter without having to move the stove. 5 years ago, when the igniter needed to be replaced, a repairman pulled the stove out from the wall. In the process, the surrounding countertop was scratched. We were so pleased that Chris was able to repair our oven without damaging anything around it. We have not previously used Smart Tech Appliance Repair, but will definitely contact them again when we need appliances properly fixed. read more

My repair request for our microwave was a complete failure. The tech (Tony) had diagnosed as faulty door switches. while installing new switches the plastic bracket was broken (?fix glue it in?). Still didn't work, so he said he would return after talking to the manufacture. No call from the office on the rescheduled date & time or or parts/cost suggested by manufacture. Tony shows up with a control board and NO replacement bracket. Both visits he made phone calls for technical advise. This time using zip tie - I lost faith at that point and ask him to leave. Really ethical, practical, dedicated repair service. We had an issue with our Maytag fridge...and we live in the middle of nowhere. Smart Tech came out early evening the day after we called and took the time to really diagnose the problem. We were told the tech wanted to check on some stuff with the manufacturer the next day to make sure we weren't just throwing parts at a problem. He called back the next day and gave us an honest diagnosis. He said the high voltage board was the likely culprit. Instead of making us pay for him to drive back out and install it, he offered to buy the part at his cost and let us pick it up and install it ourselves. That's an honest, ethical repair shop. If God forbid we find ourselves needing a repair service again, this will be the ONLY place we call! read more
