The Moore son, Casey, has taken over the shop and bringing services back up with excellency and efficiency. He is reasonably priced with great hard work behind it. Even when he is out doing portable jobs he is only a phone call away and not hard to reach. I recommend using Casey Moore for all services provided at Moores blacksmith. Extremely disappointed with my experience at this business. Horrible customer service, unorganized staff and I was overcharged twice the quoted estimate!!! I was born and raised in Red Bluff and come to expect some small town courtesy and hospitality with living in a small town. This establishment has none of that charm. The people who work there were confused, unfriendly and actually quite rude! I was never called when the project was completed like I was told, I had to call them to inquire. At first they could not find the paperwork and then they said it had been done for a while! And my $20 quote somehow turned into $40 after it was done. Apparently thats the minimum charge even though I was quoted $20. To top it all off, after I left I called to speak with a supervisor about the issue, and I was yelled at and hung up on!!! I would never ever recommend this place to anyone, for any reason. Ever! read more

I called about getting a small metal work welding job done, and he said to come by the shop to see what could be done. The man I talked to didn't seem very friendly, to the point of seeming rude, or particularly interested in the job I was asking about. He basically said I could go to Home Depot for the part I was looking for and then come back. Home Depot said the threading on my piece was not standard, as the shop owner should have known since he tried to insert a threaded pipe when I first got there, but the threading didn't fit into my piece. So I went back to the shop and asked if he could use a die to put in new threads in the metal piece that I had, as suggested by the guy at Home depot, which seems like a job that a metal shop should be able to do, but he said he couldn't do that. After that all I wanted to do is leave. The whole encounter was strange and uncomfortable, and I don't know why he even had me come in the first place. Unfriendly, detached and unhelpful is putting it mildly. It was a very unsettling encounter and I have absolutely no desire to repeat that experience for any reason. For a business that has been in town for a century, they certainly don't don't seem interested in being helpful or making potential customers comfortable. I made an appointment with another shop as soon as I got home. Would not recommend this shop. read more

I went to Moore's Welding shop to get a simple 8 inch by 10 inch plate with a 1 inch lip. Well the basic job was done the way I want it, but imagine my surprise when I got it home and had a closer look to it and found on the lip was a 1/16 cut mark on the plate. This in no manner make the plate weak it just plane old sloppy workmanship. If they can't do a simple plate, what etc can't they do? So if before going there again I am going to check out the other shops in the area. read more

I had a small welding job to be done so I took it to Moors Blacksmith shop,BIG BIG I mean HUGE mistake on my part. The job should have taken only a few minutes, so 3 weeks later and 3 trips I have a it. When I get home it's still not the correct dimensions. If I could have given them a -1 I would have. Look somewhere else if you have a wedding job to do. read more
