This company was reccommended to me by a friend when my office was broken into after hours. From start to finish and ongoing I am extremely satisfied with them. They are a smaller more focused company vs. the corporate type (ADT, COX etc.) which I really love. The install tech was very knowlegable, professional, and did a really clean install. The tech support was phenominal no matter what or how many time I called (a lot) they were always responsive to my needs. the hardware and software are high quality. I have been a customer of another company before moving to San Diego. My realtor recommended some other company, but after several phone calls when they couldn't answer any questions (only more of the marketing/promotional info), I decided to look elsewhere. Based on the reviews, I decided to give Smart Shield a try. Ron came out the same day and was able to answer all of my questions (I am a geek, so asked a lot of technical questions). No smoke, just the truth. Their team came out a day later to install. The house is 15 years old and had an existing hard-wired infrastructure. Tony was able to utilize what I had and, after checking each connection, found that two of my contacts were not functioning, so he replaced them with wireless ones. The house is now fully alarmed. We also had them install cameras on the perimeter, which took Yud and Mike all day to do. (I was a bit fussy about where wires showed, etc., but they accommodated my desires.) The cameras work great. They also installed a controller for the garage and a connected lock with a number panel for entry. Their equipment is Alarm.Com gear. It works really well and the UI is pretty good. Sophisticated enough for me to do what I want and simple enough that my wife is totally pleased. I like the fact that I can customize the alerts, add users myself, and configure the system. It even allows me to set up a unique code for cleaners and workmen and only give them access on certain days between certain hours. Great service and a great product! read more

Ron came out to inspect our house and gave us a run down on everything. He's the owner so it was comforting to hear the owner comes out and takes care of the initial meet and great. Very nice and professional, he does not try to up sell but more inform you on the options. When doing your free consultation I suggest asking the following questions: 1)What sensors are best for my house and how many do I need? 2) What is included with installation and what do I need to pay for? 2) What options can work for my budget? 3) What are the installation and activation fees? A lot of this is straight forward and they go over it but it's always good to ask for your own clarification. Last, Tony our tech came out, informed us on everything and did a speedy install. I dont have enough good words to describe the quality of work and equipment thst we got from smart shield. From the inital walkthrough to the very end it was fantastic. Smart Shield systems installed a comprehensive security system in our new property in San Diego. They were not the lowest priced proposal, however they comparatively offered better quality components for our system. They presented well during the evaluation appointment, they seemed to really know the products , were timely in the subsequent installation. Easy to work with, There was attention to detail and consideration for what our goals were. We are satisfied with the results and we would absolutely recommend their services. I like the app , it is very easy to use, and the smart system really gives me a lot of customizable options. The cameras give us a full super clear view in real time of the entire surroundings of the property , with the ability to set up a perimeter guard and many other options which I haven't had time to explore yet. After buying a business 7 years ago we took over the former owners alarm companies contract. We had a few instances where we needed help and the old panel was beyond the help lines ability to diagnose. Thank god for these security companies! We had a break in a few months ago and were planning on buying a home kit with cameras and self-monitoring for someone to install. Well, I thought that Smart Shield Systems does that, but they provide their own equipment and do central monitoring. I did not know the importance of central monitoring! I am connected now to police and fire services, meaning that if anything happens, I do not need to call, services are automatically notified. In addition, when my alarm goes off, I can communicate directly with the monitoring station because they can hear me through the 2 way voice panel! Love it! read more

As mentioned in our prior review, we purchased exterior home security cameras from Smart Shield Systems in August 2018. Originally, we had purchased the cameras to discourage a vindictive person on the street from further vandalizing our property and autos. We believe security cameras have made a difference with that situation as the person appears to be cautious to do anything else for fear of being caught on the cameras. Recently, we discovered that the security cameras could save us money when cameras recorded a hit and run in front of our house. We went to drive our auto and discovered the front of the vehicle had been hit. There was no note left on the windshield (as is required by law), so we thought we were going to have to file the claim on our auto insurance and pay the deductible (a financial hardship, especially around the holidays). Before calling our insurance, we decided to go back through our security camera footage. Thankfully, we found the incident, the person and vehicle responsible, and made a recording. The recording showed a man driving his truck into our auto and then driving away. We called SDPD with the information and showed them the video footage. They ran the license plate and it turns out the person responsible for the hit and run worked for the construction company doing a long-term construction project on the street. An officer came out and confronted the man with the video evidence and man admitted he was the one who caused the hit and run and immediately provided his insurance information. We then filed the claim with the hit and run driver's auto insurance and his insurance had to pay for the repairs to our vehicle. This meant we did not have to pay a deductible to our insurance, which saved us $500 and no increase on our insurance rates. We want to give a big 'thank-you' to Smart Shield Systems and their team of professional sales reps and installers as our security cameras make us feel more secure in our home and actually caught a bad guy! read more
