I contacted ODO for 3 days of armed personal protection. I requested, and contracted for a uniformed off-duty or retired POLICE officer. I paid $75 per hour, in advance, for these services. The "officer" turned up in a tee shirt, shorts, and sneakers. He was was not a police officer....neither off-duty or retired. He had a hand gun sitting on the seat of his car....that's about it. No shield, No ID badge. Further, on two of the three contracted days of service, he was nearly one hour late. I provided clear written instructions for him to call upon arrival. he did not call. So, I did not get what I contracted for , or paid for. Nearly one month later, I received a demand for ADDITIONAL payment, which, of course, I refused. Subsequently, I received an email chain from the account person, directing their accounts department to zero out the balance due. She told the accounts lady that " I was a little crazy and she didn't want to deal with him. We will just take the loss". I seriously doubt this operation paid this guy more than $30n per hour.... probably less. This outfit is unprofessional and it's very name is misleading. Stay away. read more

Off-duty officers Company at first seemed legitimate, but on the night of the event which was a wedding, only one of the two officers showed up. And the one that did show up to my high-profile celebrity wedding in Hollywood was physically unable to do the job because of age and illness. Horrible experience! Contacted the Salt Lake City office on Wednesday, March 2 and spoke with Maegan T about a potentially dangerous situation involving retrieving personal belongings during a divorce. I paid, in advance, for an armed and uniformed officer for a short term assignment of one day on March 8th (Which, BTW, I had to sign a contract that it was non-refundable.). I emailed Meagan twice to verify. The only email response I got from her was to say the paperwork and cc info was received and the job sent to scheduling. I checked again because I was nervous about the situation, but didn't hear anything.... THEN, A HALF HOUR AFTER THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE, she texted and said they didn't have anyone to send - it was a NO SHOW! This unreliable company left me and my sister unprotected with an individual with a history of domestic violence. Unbelievable. No excuse to be in the business of security if you're not going to show up. Dangerous. Irresponsible. Absolutely unacceptable. If I could choose zero stars I would. read more

Completely ripped us off. We sent in our contract a week before the event and Megan did not receive it due to it being in her spam folder. That is not our fault. We called the day of the event to change th credit card and it was then that we found out no one could show up. If we hadn't called, no one would have showed up to the event. We had to terminate an employee and he ended up getting volatile and making threats to management. I didn't want to call the police and have the clientele get worried about a bunch of cops showing up with sirens blaring so we called Off Duty Officers. They quickly sent over armed security who took care of the problem ex-employee in a quick and low-key way. I am the VP of our HOA and we signed on with Off Duty Officers in May of 2012. By Dec we had gone through 9 different Security Guards. Very UNSAT.... They talked the good talk during the first interview stage but when it came to performance I think they sent the bottom of the barrel to our site. Yes we did do randon checks on the Guards performance and did report our finding to the company. Very little follow-though from the company. the Guards failed to follow or enforce the rules of the community. we have CCTV and we checked several times to only see the Guard spend hours sitting around in the pool area when he should have been patroling. You would think that the higher-up would see something was wrong when there was a personnel change nine times, not to mention the number e-mails from the property management company. What does that say about internal communication in that company? Or maybe they just felt that once they had the contract thats all that mattered. I've used this company for private personal event security, as well as corporate, a couple of times. Each time was what I expected. They were good and did the job. I just used them again this past weekend and had such an exceptional experience that I was compelled to write them a review this time. The office staff was incredibly helpful when booking, especially with some of the unusual time and financial constraint requests I had provided this go around. She treated me like I was some sort of a VIP. During the event all of the guards were very professional, friendly and seemed eager to do there job. Everything went smoothly. They even stayed 30 minutes later when they saw it was going a bit longer and said: " it's our free time now and don't worry about it, they had a good time!" Oh, and then two of them helped take out trash and load things in others cars out of courtesy. Like real gentlemen! Nobody has that level of customer service anymore. Loved it.
