I LOVE this place! I have been renting a storage unit since 2013 and haven't had a single problem! Joanna runs this place and I've only contacted her once when I initially started renting, she is awesome and then I randomly saw her a few weeks ago and talked with her. She knows her stuff and I trust her, she'll only give you a unit that works for you, which is great! The rate is amazing, my monthly rental didn't change for 3 years! I am highly impressed! And I've researched prices as I like saving money and they are the cheapest around but they have top notch service. It's a super convenient location for me but they are hidden off of 99w, which is not even a bother...hey, it saves me money! I wish I could live here...it'd save me soooo much money compared to apt renting!! Plus my "neighbors" are rarely home and it's a very safe location! read more

As a first time review writer, we'll see if the software let's this through. Hope so! I really wanted to do business here, but it is not to be. And I would have been good business - planning to rent for at least a year, not expecting many in and out visits, etc. The moral of my short story is - don't bother trying to rent here. Actions speak volumes and their actions indicate they don't need new business. First attempt: We dropped by at midday hoping to see the facility and see if it looked good. The office was closed and the we'll be back time was over an hour away. But it looked good from the outside - clean and well kept - and we liked he pricing and amenities we had seen online. Second attempt: My husband went by during the day to try and reserve a unit. Again the office was closed. Third attempt: In the morning we made arrangements to be there between 2 and 2:30. We shows up at 2:15. Office was closed. We left 20 minutes later. What gives? This is disappointing, frustrating, and costly (gas and time). read more

Beware if your a week late paying they will cut your lock. Never had a problem til management changed. They cut my lock saying my unit was going up for auction after I was told it takes 3 months of non payment for that to happen and I've never been that late. They said they called me and left VM however no VM was received. I miss how it was ran when Joanna I believe her name is ran it as she worked with everyone. I'll never rent from this company again. Im just thankful that my mom is able to go and get my stuff out of it today so I can be done with them for good. read more

Great service and CLEAN spaces! I wasn't sure what size space I would need when I dropped by the office. Joanna was very helpful and made sure we picked the right one (who would want to move their stuff twice?). The facility seemed nice and new. The heated units were perfect for storing our extra documents and furniture. I'm confident that when we take our items out of storage, they will be in the same condition that they are today. INCREASE OF 18% AFTER 1st YEAR. We have been customers there for around 1 year now. Always paid on time, in fact, we setup auto-bill pay, so we couldn't be an easier client to deal with. I just received a notice that they are INCREASING rent 18% after 1 year of being a loyal customer with 100% on time payments. The funny thing is that in their letter, they state they are "us[ing] technology to reduce their costs." Yet, we are still seeing an 18% price increase. Where are they reducing their costs? Electricity? Property Taxes? I decided to find out. After doing my research, I found in the last year there was only a 1.0% increase (at most 1.1%) on their PGE rate schedule for electricity. Next, I took at look at their public property tax records, and found there was a .44% increase on their property taxes (which they will make back on MY UNIT ALONE in just under 14 months). I've cited my sources below for you to see yourself. With that said, I think I will take my business elsewhere. I don't see that the increase in price reflects their increase in expenses, making their letter a load of crap. Don't waste your time calling for information on the weekend, the weekend person can't tell you anymore than the web page. They offer units on the web page that they don't have and try to up-sell you to the next size. When they say close to the door, they mean close to the elevator on the second floor. The only plus in the whole experience is the lower price (for now anyway). Also they require 30 notice if you are moving out! Don't be late on your rent, after 21 days they will cut your lock off and go through your belongings. read more

It is difficult to write a review for a company that has so many good things to say about it without it turning into a book! I left Oregon and went to Oklahoma for a year and one of the first things I did was look for a place to store my things that offer reasonable rates. I found that Smart Storage in Tualatin has the lowest rates offered by all competitors in the area hands down. The day I secured my unit at Smart, I was immediately struck by the outstanding service I received by the young office manager, Joanna Brands. That first encounter consisted of one accommodation after another; for example, I had not purchased a lock and that was no problem. Joanna furnished me with a heavy duty lock and keys at no cost! I left the responsibility of my monthly payments with my two daughters. Well, everything did not go smoothly in the area of making the monthly payments on time. At one point my daughter who has a very busy schedule working to put herself through college totally forgot that she was supposed to be making the payments! I was almost 2000 miles away and thank God for the diligence that Joanna Brands exercises in doing her job, she not only sent me an email to notify me about it; she called my cell phone number and left several messages to inform me that payment was not being made on my unit. It turned out that my daughter had not made payments for four months! The payments increased because of the late fee for all of those months and the current monthly payment was also due. I was going through a family crisis in Oklahoma, Joanna negotiated an arrangement with me to just pay all of the rent for the months past and due minus the late fees! I have returned from Oklahoma and am happy to report that my things are still safely stored in the unit I rent. I had come to the conclusion that this storage facility must be a family owned business and that Joanna must be the daughter of the owners. Not true! To my surprise, this is a corporate business. I have stored my things in other storage facilities throughout the years and never have I had such an overwhelming experience with the quality, price, off the hook security measures, and easy access to my unit that includes accommodations that assist me so that I do not need help from anyone to get my items in or out of the unit. But the most rewarding asset of all is Joanna Brands, the people at Smart should know if they don't already, that Joanna does not perform her duties as if it is a job, she performs her job as if she is an owner of the company. read more
