In June 2019, we moved up to a larger outdoor unit when my Mother in Law passed away and we had to store of few of her items until my husband could decide what to do with them (he's still deciding). Karen and her staff were very helpful getting us set up the first time and when we moved everything from one unit to the other, everything went quickly and smoothly. The entire facility and grounds are very clean and well-kept. We often see Karen tooling around in her little 4-wheeled buggy keeping an eye on things. She always waves and says hello. Rules are strictly enforced inside and outside the units too. Prices are fair and reasonable when compared to other storage places. And we've always felt our stuff was safe and secure. The only drawback to having an inside unit from an outside unit is that the inside units are climate controlled and I don't think we found one bug or spider (or rodents) in the four years our stuff was stored. Often times it was hard to find the complimentary flatbed cart (used for transporting things from your vehicle to your unit) because there isn't a designated spot for it to be stored. We'd sometimes have to search throughout the whole building for it. The outside units are easier to pull right up to and unload but they are more exposed to the sun, wind and rain and we've had an issue with dirt and spiders. But that's nobody's fault. None of our stuff has been damaged however and we keep a broom in the unit to clean the cement floor. Sometimes we've taken our leaf blower over to clean out the entire inside. You just adapt. I love that I can pay online and take care of business from home. Although going into the office to speak with Karen is a pleasure. She always has a big bowl of candy on the counter too. All in all, we've been very happy with our experience these past 6 years with NW Self storage.

We just moved out on Saturday, as we bought a house & were ready to get our belongings. As we were loading things into the moving truck, we found mouse droppings on many of our things. They burrowed into a sealed bag with blankets & chewed up the blankets. They left droppings all over boxes, lumber, everything. We had to throw some things away & we will probably have to throw more away as we sort through boxes. We were spending over $200/month on this space. It is unacceptable to spend that kind of money & have your belongings invaded by mice!! I have had storage units before & never experienced this. I am attaching photos to warn other potential renters! The owners of this property need to fill in any open space where mice can get in. I do not recommend this storage facility based on our experience.

Rudy was my driver and he was absolutely amazing. He was super nice to speak with. He called the day before and the day of prior to arriving so I can be ready for the delivery. He listened to my concerns and requests. He was able to put that container smack dab on the line where I wanted (see picture). He is one heck of a driver! The people at the officer was also super nice and knowledgeable as well. I spoke with Dan and Elyse. I asked about movers and they gave me a few leads. When I signed up for…read morea 10x10 storage unit, I didn't hear them say that it was a promotional rate for four months (my fault for not asking about the future rent increases). They did tell me that IF the rent was raised, I could negotiate for a lower rate. Alas, when the four months expired, the rent went from 155 to 255 per month (which included modest insurance). They were willing to drop it to 225 (including insurance), but that is still exorbitant! I will say the unit is clean and dry at Extra Space Storage--unlike the last place I rented that had rats and moisture. But I'm now moving to an equally clean storage facility in Tualatin, Oregon and the rent is 140 dollars per month (not including insurance). This mistake I made with Extra Space Storage cost me 500 dollars for movers to transfer my tools from one storage unit to another. Adios to Extra Space Storage!

We are in the middle of a cross-state move from Tucson, AZ to Sherwood, OR and had an extremely…read moredisappointing and stressful experience with the U-Haul Sherwood location regarding our U-Box delivery. The day before delivery, Laurie from the Sherwood U-Haul location called my husband directly and verbally confirmed that our four U-Boxes would be delivered between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. That same time window was also confirmed in two identical automated text messages we received (which we still have). Despite all of this, the driver arrived at 8:30 AM while we were still at a hotel. The home does not yet have utilities or heat, and it has strict HOA rules regarding where and how long U-Boxes can be placed. We were not refusing delivery -- we simply asked why the driver was there four hours early and requested that she check with dispatch before placing the boxes. The driver told us she would call dispatch and get clarification. Instead, the next call we received was from Laurie, telling us that we had "canceled" the delivery (which we absolutely did not) and that we would now be charged an additional $99 to reschedule. We made it very clear that we never canceled -- we only questioned why the delivery was happening outside the confirmed window. We were then told that if we could drive from the hotel immediately, the driver could return, but we would still be charged. Later, this fee was reduced to $50 -- despite the fact that the error was entirely on U-Haul's side. To make matters worse, this situation is part of a much larger pattern. Throughout this move, we have encountered:    *   Multiple unexpected charges at different stages    *   Separate delivery fees for each U-Box    *   Conflicting information about insurance coverage once the boxes crossed state lines    *   Repeated billing under different descriptions What initially seemed like a cost-saving option has turned into a stressful, expensive ordeal. Between U-Boxes, trailers, delivery fees, and add-ons, we are now well over $5,000 -- and still responsible for unloading everything ourselves. At that point, we should have paid slightly more for a professional moving company and avoided all of this confusion and stress. This experience showed a serious lack of communication, accountability, and customer care at the Sherwood location. Being blamed -- and charged -- for an error that was clearly documented in writing is unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering U-Box containers to read the fine print carefully and be prepared for surprise charges and shifting explanations. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this location or this service.
