My experience with Smart Plumbers and Rooters was incredibly disappointing. We faced an emergency plumbing issue and reached out to them for help. Initially, they scheduled an appointment for the next day within a specific time frame, which was acceptable. They even requested us to upload pictures to assess the situation, which we promptly did. However, things took a turn for the worse when they informed us that they could address the problem on the same day. The technician arrived around 3:30-4pm, and it was evident that he had little enthusiasm for the task at hand. Our issue, a water leak resulting from the installation of a new bathroom vanity without proper sealing, should have been a straightforward fix. Despite this, the technician seemed reluctant to start work and continuously offered excuses for issues unrelated to the problem he was there to solve. Moreover, he had initially parked his vehicle incorrectly, and when we asked him to reposition it, he returned with an attitude that clearly conveyed his disinterest in getting the job done. After some time, he abruptly claimed that he couldn't proceed because we had purchased a faucet from Amazon. We agreed to obtain one from Lowe's, but he displayed a lack of enthusiasm and support throughout. He assured us he would return the next day between 12-2, but as 3 o'clock rolled around, we had to contact them to find out what was happening. To our surprise, he then blamed us, insisting that we were supposed to contact him despite our earlier discussions about our trip to Lowe's for the faucet - an issue unrelated to his initial task. As a result, he didn't show up as promised. After three days of waiting for a resolution to our emergency, we finally contacted the company and decided to cancel altogether. Smart Plumbers and Rooters proved to be unprofessional, unreliable, and a complete disappointment. If you're in need of prompt and efficient service, especially in an emergency situation, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. We trusted this company and regretted it as we had guests staying over during the holidays, left with a dysfunctional sink. Thanks for nothing, Smart Plumbers and Rooters. Follow up: just had EJ plumbing fix it. Night and day difference. We got a picture of the technician coming over and they were there on time and first thing next morning. Super professional. We had Patrick from Smart Plumbers come out to repair the p-trap on our urinal on February 18th, 2022. We are located in Santa Clara. It was not draining properly and Patrick said the p-trap was calcified and needed replacing. I was not onsite to approve the job but our onsite manager did approve it. She was unaware she was being hosed. Look at the picture attached for the work performed. They replaced the PVC p-trap. $375 service charge. $100 parts charge. (PVC p-trap) $18 credit card fee. $493 Total. I called Smart Plumbers and asked to have the charges explained to me as I thought the price for the work performed must have been in error. I was told they would have "Patrick", the plumber who preformed the work call me back that afternoon. No call. I called two more time and was assured he would call me back. No call. Finally March 1st, a full 10 days later, Patrick calls me back. He very angrily proceeds to tell me the charges are what they are and we approved them. I told him he took advantage of us and although our onsite manager did approve the repair estimate, I would be letting the public know, through Yelp and Diamond Certified, that they are unethical and buyer beware of the price gouging. He chose Smart P & R for the job, the tech billed him over $2,700. After numerous calls and many left voice mails Hermos (Disp. mgr) called and after a lot of back and forth they decided the cost was justified. Our sewer line, even though it was replace years ago with new ABS, still manages to develop a stoppage probably at least once a year (usually at the worst time possible!!). The cause might be tiny roots, a flat spot, or a step where our new ABS drain connects to the city's ancient drain. Don't know and we don't want to spend $$$ to find out. The good news is, we have two way clean out that is about 4 feet down at the appropriate location to clean our yearly stoppage. The bad new is some/many of our past plumbers have had a terrible time getting the rooter cable to go the right way ... the two-way is too deep. Federico from Smart Plumbers came out, actually listened to my warning/description (most don't), and was able to his rooter cable to go the right way. He had our blockage removed in no time. Honest business practices that is rare to see these days. I'm making Smart Plumbers and Rooters my go to plumber. I called multiple plumbers to get an estimate before they do any work. Many plumbers want to charge me $50-100 for just a quote. Many refused to provide an estimate for a standard sewage cleaning over the phone. Smart Plumbers gave me a reasonable estimate on the phone and the final quote was lower in person. I have experience with contractors who used a bait and switches with their quotes. I paid 2x the price to Roto-rooter last time for the same service and they didn't use my cleanout. Smart plumber was able to identify the sewage cleanout and solve my backup issues remotely when I was away at work. read more

The next day, they came out and charged $700. The whole job to hydro jetting toilet drain line costed $1400, much higher than other businesses.
