Of the three that scheduled one and then gave an estimate, Commando Plumbing's estimate was in a tie for lowest price. I chose the other one based on ease of communication. I think Commando's technician was an experienced plumber who could have done the job, but it was more difficult to discuss my options with him (a two-way choice between wax ring and wax-free seal), although we eventually understood each other with the help of pictures on the boxes and on Amazon. He also took out a reel that may have been for clearing the line or even a sewer inspection, even though I had not requested that service, and I don't know if he was trying to communicate that he was offering or recommending those services. The written estimate took a couple of hours while the two competitors sent me one instantly, and Commando's was sparser than the others and a little ambiguous. So I chose another company for the same price with more confidence we could communicate if anything unexpected came up. read more

The house we bought had some old gas pipe lines which were not installed properly in the first place. The erosion looks quite bad. And there is no valve to control specific gas lines.
