Good service. Funny I was a little deceived when I thought the front ice cream freezer was it with only eight choices ice cream. Then my friend reminded me there's a whole back of the room of yogurt choices and toppings. So many combinations. I chose the yummy coconut and double chocolate combination. I drove thru downtown Castle Rock looking for an ice cream shop, but no luck. I went north to a small shopping center north of Founders Pkwy and saw Smart Cow. Plenty of parking. The inside was colorful with clean tables and floor. They had 8 self serve soft frozen yogurt machines with 2 flavors each + lots of various toppings. Most people were getting cups, but sugar & cake cones were available. They only $0.67/pound. Then I saw the blackboard with 8 Blue Bunny ice cream flavors. I asked the staff person and they can make shakes or malts in addition to single, double or triple scoops. I chose a chocolate/vanilla malt for only $ 7.01; It was served with a fat straw and was so thick I had to let it soften for a few minutes. Just as I was leaving a long line of parents and teenagers showed up, very easily maxing out the space. read more

After a bad experience last night at a local competitor tonight we tried Smart Cow and were not disappointed. Soft serve ice cream and yogurt with whatever toppings you choose in a fun, self serve atmosphere. The kids will love it! This establishment was clean and family friendly. Emphasis on the clean because an endless stream of people going through can make a mess but employees were readily available and constantly cleaning. Service was prompt and friendly to ring up purchase as well Also cheaper than the competitor. We will return! read more

Wow! We were looking for gelato after lunch, and this popped up. What a GREAT place! Very large, very clean, and sunny. They have TWO sizes of bowls, as well as cones. Flavor selection was AWESOME. They have frozen yogurt, sorbet, and ice cream (not soft-serve). Some of their treats have two grams of fiber! I tried small quantities of FIVE flavors. The Espresso Latte was delicious. As were the other four, including a chocolate fudge sorbet that was not watery AT ALL. Yum. There's low-fat and (I think) at least one sugar-free option. The toppings and syrup bars have everything your heart could possibly desire. We will be back! We're just sorry that this is their only location. But maybe that's a good thing. I can't wait to go back and try the watermelon sorbet. There's strawberry lemonade sorbet, too. I stuck with coffee, cream, and chocolate this visit. read more

I love sorbet and I've had it in many places during my travels but boyyyyyyy let me tell you that this sorbet by far was one of the best I've had in a long long time! Also, I always taste plain/tart as a bellwether, and theirs was not good. - Needed a cleanup. - No other customers, though some were leaving as I arrived. Not usually a good sign. - NO STAFF!! I walked in, sampled for a few minutes, and NOBODY EVER APPEARED IN THE STORE. Middle of the afternoon. Even if I wanted to buy yogurt, I probably would have had to yell for help or something. I visited this place about three times already over the past few months. They offer a variety of low fat, non fat or sugar free yogurts. The flavors are diverse as well. Some of my favorites are birthday cake, macadamia nut, snickers and cookies & cream. They have some fruit flavors as well. As for toppings, they offer the typical varieties that other frozen yogurt places do. You can also get your yogurt in two different size containers or a waffle cone. I feel that the smaller size is sufficient for one person. As with any other frozen yogurt places, the more you load up your bowl with toppings the pricier it gets. I stay within the $7 range give or take and I'm very satisfied with the serving size along with what I'm getting in toppings. On a cleanliness scale I feel it's average. When visiting here last night, the front trash can was overflowing and could've used changing. The female employee working the store was friendly. I was impressed that she let me know why she had to briefly step away from the cash register while ringing up my cup of yogurt. She actually had to take a waffle away from something to let it cool down. I felt that this was courteous of her. At the front of this place there is a large bay door that goes up and down to allow for an open air establishment. I've yet to see it go up yet. Also, this place is family friendly. I've seen families come and go here during each of my visits. Again, there can be extra work done on cleanliness (replace or fill napkin containers and wipe off tables, sweep floors) of establishment. This place isn't filthy but it could use some better housekeeping. Management, I hope you're paying attention here. I recommend this place if you're a local, visiting the area or passing thru and want a cool treat! I will most likely return soon. read more

Kind of a bummer here, we were excited because they appear to have everything, but on our trip they had very little. There are signs promoting gelato, but there was only one flavor when we stopped in; even more signs for the edible cookie dough, but they werent stocking it that night, and they only had 4-5 flavors of the hand scooped ice cream in stock. They are great partners with local schools, and the 2 girls working were very friendly, but being out of so many things and not stocking so many other things made this a disappointing trip to Castle Rock. read more

This review is based solely on my experience with the staff at this location and the unwillingness and true laziness of the guy that was working there. Now, I went into smart cow in search of non fat yogurt, amount of carbs and /or sugar free for myself and my mom. The labels of the froyo show "low fat" or "non fat" and that is all. So, I proceed to the cashier area and there is no one behind the register, but there is a large group of younger adults sitting right there and it appears that 2 of them are working there / on the clock. A young man looks at me waiting and turns back to his conversation with his friends. I stand there. He looks at me again, I look at him. He goes back to his convo and FINALLY realizes I am not going away and I need assistance. He is like what do you need? I say, "hi can I please see the nutritional facts for the froyos that are available?" He was like "Uh yea... oh sorry I can't find the book, but what info do you want I can just tell you." Umm, buddy, no you can't. I doubt that you have every single carb, fat and protein memorized for every froyo flavor. And he basically shrugs his shoulders and I see I'm not getting anywhere so I left and said, "you should have that readily available and I will be leaving a comment on Yelp bye." So rude and useless... definitely a huge downside to an otherwise loved froyo spot. Added April 5: In response to to the business owners response, I was very happy with how quickly the business owner responded to my issue. She was sure to let me know that she felt terrible and that this would not happen again. We've been enjoying Smart Cow for a couple of years. The frozen yogurt is very refreshing and it's a great family atmosphere. I brought my 7 year old daughter and she loved it too! Every time I come here the place is dirty or just a mess. Many other yogurt places have better selection and quality. I give three stars as they have never done me wrong. Just get it and go. It is what it is. I think most customers like the place and my family does not complain about the place. Guess I am a snob when it comes to yogurt and or ice cream. I would like to say it's because they give a portion of each Tuesday's profits to a local school, but let's face it, I'm not all that altruistic. Truth is, it's the tasty frozen yogurt flavors that keep me coming back. Pistachio, peanut butter, salted caramel... all scrumptious. There are always healthy options, so you'll feel slightly less guilty when you top them off with cookie dough, assorted candies or chocolate sauce. I personally love that Smart Cow always pairs flavors together to make some super-tasty swirls, since I can rarely pick just one favorite flavor. Horrible "yogurt". More like ice milk from back in the day. Wish we could get Nuberri or similar which is still not nutritionally horrible for you but doesn't taste like frozen water with artificial flavoring. My husband and I threw ours out. i love this place! i've been coming here since before covid, when i moved here a couple years ago- and they haven't gotten any less awesome since then!!! i love that they have so many unique flavors and toppings, like the jolly rancher pieces and the popping boba- i get those every time i go, and they're always so so so so good! i hope they never switch out those toppings, lol. but just in general, too, the vibes there are great! i love the atmosphere of the building, and the staff are always really nice. the ice cream is reasonably priced, too, so that only adds to it! the only small complaint i would have is that i can't find anywhere whether they do delivery or not. i often find myself craving their ice cream while my parents are working and unable to drive me, and i can't figure out whether they do delivery! i really want to be able to enjoy their product at home, too! lastly, i wish that they would make a website confirming all of these things. i understand that they have a facebook page, and i can access that just fine, but usually facebook pages are hard to navigate and just overall a bit bothersome. i wish they had their own website, confirming things like their business hours and- like i was asking about before- whether they deliver. other than those things, though, the place is great!!! i'll be coming there as often as i can (: read more

We used to look forward to going there but when I asked for one scoop of my favorite ice cream (Carmel salted oreo) the person gave a very small scoop. It didnt even fill half of the cup! When I asked if there was supposed to be more they said the new owners are reducing the portion sizes.
