This candy shop is my go-to for a sweet treat! The ice cream is something I would recommend to anyone. The store is a cute fixed up old timey building, which adds such a charm. It has so much history to share in just a little shop! The staff are friendly, love to share the history, and can help you find just what you're looking for. 10/10 would recommend. read more

We were riding around and he decided to head for the candy store to see if I wanted to stop by. Of course I did. What's the downside of candy? Nothing! The reindeer next to the door welcomed us. There were a lot of people shopping in the store. We navigated the crowd so I could pick out some treats. Pretzel dipped in chocolate, chocolate covered gummy bears, rolls of gummy lifesavers - oooh la la. Mouth watering. The person who made the yummy brownie I got last time was there and we conversed a little. Both associates were friendly and I was glad to support a local business. Not sure how many people know that this sweet shop has some really great homemade ice cream in the back of the store...Stopped in tonight and tried the Sleepless in Seattle (coffee ice cream, & mocha chips) Jack Daniels & Chocolate Chips and 7 Layer Coconut. The ice cream is full of flavor and really creamy. They are very generous with their scoops and really reasonable. Love coming here! read more

Sugar Spoon Candies is a super charming candy shop with lots of fun, scoopable candy. A lot of the candies available aren't particularly novel or hard to find like they are with some candy shops, but it's a lot of fun to be able to pick and choose a little bit of this and a little bit of that. They also serve ice cream, which is almost a must since you're already in there, and have a cooler of classic, different-than-what-you'd-find-at-the-grocery-store sodas. They have some packaged candies too that could make for fun stocking stuffers or special treats. Quarters are tight, especially in the COVID world we're living in, but it's a super cute place to pick up one, two, or a whole lot of treats in a warm, inviting setting. read more

This is a super cute little candy store nestled away in Old downtown Castle Rock near Ecclesia and The Barn. Walking inside just immediately takes you back! Lots of candy and sweets in every corner! the Ice cream looks delicious, and it looks like they rotate out the flavors on a regular basis! I'll have to try a scoop soon! The candies I did purchase were yummy and I saw some fudge and baked goods I need to try next time! You can tell the owners put so much love into this place! read more

This place is the sweetest, most adorable, lovely little shop! From their yummy homemade ice cream ($1 scoop...No, I'm not kidding!), to their delicious Carmel-dark chocolate,-almond goodies, and their $2 waffle cones, this place is our new family favorite! A great new addition to Castle Rock. The candy, chocolates, and ice cream can't be beat. The owners are incredibly nice. My family and I have quickly be come regulars here. I can't imagine any product being worth the atrocious service you are subjected to at this place. Went there two years ago and said "wow, that's the most miserable service I've had in a while." Gave it another shot now, two years later, thinking "what are the odds it will still be like that." Welp. Maybe "being miserable" is the thing they look for on the job application, because they've got that nailed down. Walked in, got ice cream, left. The person working said zero words the entire time and seemed put out. Certainly won't be back when there's other places to get this same stuff and not be treated like an imbecile read more

Sugar Spoon agreed to host a fundraiser for our school last August and we advertised and encouraged our families to patronize the shop in order to participate in the fundraiser. Our school brought in who knows how much money to the shop and we raised $162 from this event... But we have yet to be paid. Yes, it's really been NINE MONTHS. We have tried to call but nobody ever answers and the shop mailbox is always full. (Try it, you'll see.) We've sent multiple emails with no response. We've even had PTO members stop by the shop but no help was offered as a manager wasn't available. At this point, I expect we'll never receive our fundraising check.... But keep this in mind when you choose to shop here.... That this is the way Sugar Spoon treats local schools. Shameful. read more

This little shop is our favorite place to get a treat! Everything we have ever chosen to eat is always amazing! The ice cream is "real" ice cream and is so delicious! We have treated ourselves to the candies that are made in house and everything taste like my grandma used to make. The owners are so friendly and are doing a fantastic job with their business. any candy you could want and $1 (large) scoops of ice cream! this place feels like the perfect addition to downtown and honestly feels like it should be in a hallmark movie at christmas. the ice cream is really good and who can beat $1 scoops? and they'll let you sample them all if you want. they also have a case of specialty chocolate items like truffles, holiday stuff, etc and while I haven't tried any yet, I can't wait to because it all looks awesome. the owners are seriously the nicest people. every time I've come in, they engage me/us in conversation and are quick to offer samples of anything--toffee, brittle, ice cream, kettle corn, etc. I've sampled a lottttt of their brittles and such and it's all really good. I hope this place succeeds because the couple who owns it are so genuine and friendly and they have a lot of delicious things to offer! read more

We have been loyal customers for several years... We LOVE their ice cream, and my kids regularly stop in to buy candy with their friends. Their posted hours have never been accurate, and we've learned to just roll with it. However, they have almost never been open the last few months, and they also don't answer their phones or respond to any social media Qs about their opening times/schedule. They have been closed the last seven times we've stopped by - all this summer, all on hot afternoons, most on weekends. Not sure if they are closed for good, or what's going on, but we carry a fairly large balance on a gift card for them since the pandemic, and are super frustrated that we aren't getting to use it this summer, and that there hasn't been any communication about what's going on... read more

They never open on time. Very misleading hours of operation. I have brought my family here multiple times and it has resulted in disappointment on numerous occasions. According to their website they were open, but the closed sign is up. For example: I showed up this afternoon at 12:30 and they supposedly open at 11:30. Head to Rocket Fizz, they are more reliable. Sucks because I enjoyed support small businesses. Don't waste your time like I have. read more

This place is AWESOME!!! Amazing ice cream for $1 per scoop. Great variety of high quality items ice cream. Extremely nice staff. They make waffle cones behind the counter and also sell fruit they hand dip in chocolate. They also have a variety of sodas and candy for that old fashioned candy store feel. It's a short walk from anywhere in downtown castle rock so if we are having dinner downtown we skip dessert and have it here. read more

This shop is the definition of small town feels. It is so quant and welcoming. It's front door is open and you smell the home made waffle cones from a block away! They have a cooler full of original sodas outside in front of their store too which is a cute nostalgic touch. The walls are lined with candies in jars as well as ice cream, cotton candy (spun fresh of course) and fresh baked cookies for sale! The owners are so nice and inviting. You can also try and sample to make sure you like what you're buying! They even have candies from different countries! I'm super excited to try the various Asian candies I bought. To top it off, they are dog friendly so bring them along too! They'll love the smells as much as you do! They have a little patio table out front to sit and enjoy your treats or a couple of scoops of their ice cream. We tried the Jack Daniel's chocolate chip and coffee flavors and they were amazing! If you don't want to buy by the pound, they have pre wrapped candies as well, it'll take you down memory lane for sure! I love to support local businesses and this one had great customer service, a great environment (did I mention the smells?!) and good prices too! Can't beat free fresh spun cotton candy on your birthday! If you're in DT Castle Rock and have a sweet tooth, I'd recommend checking this place out! It will not disappoint! read more

This is my family's favorite place to go and get a delicious treat. We get ice cream here regularly and it is the best! Whenever someone comes in from out of town we make it a point to bring them here to hang out in old town Castle Rock and sit outside to eat some ice cream. We just found Sugar Spoon and couldn't have been more impressed! The first of all, the aesthetics of the store is just cool. They have all of the retro candy that will bring back childhood memories. A delightful addition to downtown Castle Rock! The ice cream is the main draw for our family, $1.00 for a generous scoop and so many delicious flavors. Blue Moon (really does taste like Fruit Loops) takes me back to my childhood! Lots of unique and fun candies, hand dipped chocolate treats, and kettle corn too. I had a side hustle job assignment in the very neighborhood mid-afternoon. And I simply didn't want to go there, work, leave and get home; I wanted to discover a business I have never been to. I hence googled bakeries and this cake shop came up. According to a little research, this shop opened its doors in January of 2021 by two sisters who are Colorado natives. This element added more excitement to my quick visit I made today. The Cake Company is adorable. From the exterior signage to the interior decors, everything that decorates the whole space matches the theme of the store. Mostly pink and off-white, they not only sell beautifully crafted cupcakes, pies, rice crispies, cinnamon rolls, to name a few, they also sell some gifts such as wine glasses, t-shirts, journal books, tote bags, mug cups, I mean you name it!! I was at awe standing in front of the showcase that displays all sorts of sweets. When one of the ladies upfront greeted me with a very peppy welcoming tone, she kindly said to take my time. I thus allowed myself to be indecisive for several minutes to take my time (LOL!!) Whereas the pies and cheesecakes to the right looked amazing, they also appeared a bit too big and decadent. Since I only needed one good piece of some delicious something, I opted for a cupcake as they aren't as big as the other sweets. Upon asking the same lady which ones are the most popular, she said it was either Berry Tilly or Better Than Sex. My instinct told me to go with the latter: Better Than Sex. The different lady transacted my purchase. She carefully put my cupcake in a single cupcake box. Just so you know, their boxes are tilt-free so your sweet stuff won't tilt inside it (unless you violently shake the box!) The cupcakes are $6 each. And yet, if you buy 6 or more, each price is reduced to $5.50 up to 11. If you buy 12 or more, each price is reduced to $5.00. 20% discount will be added if you purchase 3 dozens. The shop does sell gluten free ones and yet any of the discounts I mentioned don't appear to apply to them. After the purchase, I looked to the left to discover a little entry way to the store next door. It's Lost Coffee. The customers are free to go in and out between the two shops. This means that you can take your cupcake to the next store and have some coffee or tea to pair with it. This is another store that has this symbiotic relationship with their next-door neighbor business. I always find the concept so intriguing. Businesses help each other. As soon as I got back to my car, I immediately opened the box and started to dig in. And wow....I know this is such an ordinary statement but I will say it: this is/was by far the best cupcake I've ever had. It was perfectly moist in the sponge part with the perfect sweetness. After one bite, it was simply impossible for me to stop eating it although I wanted to save some for later. The cupcake thus disappeared so quickly in a matter of 2-3 minutes. Their cupcakes are phenomenal. There is no way you'll buy cupcakes from other places once you have experienced theirs. I am already pondering as to when I should go back. Discovering great businesses bring me joy; this is why I can never stop Yelping.

The server asked us if we were interested in the Happy Hour menu (available M-F, till 5:30) and we jumped all over that. $6 sliders, $15 for a pound of smoked hot wings, and $2 off m draft beer. Great deal!!! The wings were fantastic and I will definitely be back for them! The hot sauce was just right, and although a few of the drums were a little dry - overall the wings hit the spot. The sliders were good (not as tasty as the wings), and I might have to try their fried chicken sliders (Nashville hot) next time. Service was good and everyone was welcoming and friendly. I'm not sure why I didn't try this spot sooner, so don't make my mistake and get yourself down to Courtyard Social!

The service was also great, 5 stars there. My drink, however, not so great. I ordered the cornbread latte (specialty drink). It sounded so unique and they make homemade syrup with jiffy mix! The flavor was not really there for me. It was kind of...crumby still? And the flavor I could taste was good but I think it needed more syrup. For such an expensive drink, I don't think this place is my new spot. I may come back to try something else in the future out of convenience alone.
