As a representative of a dealership filing a claim, this place is the absolute worst aftermarket warranty company I have ever dealt with. We do not sell this garbage warranty, but the clients brought their vehicle here with this warranty. I have attempted to file a claim with them for several days several hours EACH time. They do not pick up the phone and miraculously they have over 10 callers ahead of you as soon as they open. It is an absolute scam and atrocious unprofessional customer service. If someone offers you this warranty tell them to kick rocks. read more

This Company claims leader in auto coverage , what a joke. My truck has been in the shop for a week, still hasn't been approved by them to fix . I paid 3 grand for coverAge and it doesn't cover hardly anything just the main things , which is bull . U get the run around, the Chevy dealership and I been on the phone for days and tring to get this approved so they can work on it . Bill at Chevy, told me this is the worst auto warranty company that he's ever seen in 20 years. I would never ever go through these crooks period . It's the biggest hassle bill said . I going to try and get my money back! read more

Trust the NEGATIVE reviews for this company! I tried calling but there was a long wait time. The recording repeatedly said to email so I did. I emailed them at 9:44 in the morning. They didn't respond until 9:45 the next morning (they waited to respond exactly 24 hours!). At that time repairs had been started and they were quick to respond again to let me know they would not be paying anything! Their emails were not tactful and very upsetting. Their part would have been $257 so if they go out of their way this much for small claims I can only imagine the hoops they will make you jump through for larger ones! read more

Google; at·tri·tion the action or process of gradually reducing the strength or effectiveness of someone or something through sustained attack or pressure. In 2015 we purchase a new Volvo XC60. The Volvo dealer suggested and sold us a vehicle warranty by Smart-Auto-Care. When the Volvo engine failed , after less than 63,000 miles, we turned to Smart Auto Care for assistance. For over three months, Mr. Mickey Bratcher and the Smart-Auto Care team, have used attrition and exhausted us, and the Volvo dealer, with conflicting information and unreasuable requests, all in their attempt not to to pay for the repair. One of the many requests was to take apart the engine, at our expense, in order to allow a 3rd party engineer to inspect the engine and approve the necessity of the repair. Which was done. The Volvo dealer has been attempting to satisfy all the requests for information and measurements made by Smart Auto care. They have now given up, and asked us to tow away the dis-assembled, and un-drivable vehicle, from their repair shop. Attention consumers: Please beware and learn from our mistake, the warranties sold by this company will only provide you with peace of mind as long as they are unused in the drawer. When the need will arrise to use these policies Smart-Auto-care will escape responsibility and will exhaust the consumer to the point of giving up their claim. Attention Car Dealers: Do not sell car warranties sold by Smart-Auto care. A Smart Auto Care warranty sold by a car dealer will reflect badly on the dealer's reputation and will alienate their customers. Please refer your customer to a reliable warranty provider. Thank You. read more

This company SMART AUTO CARE has managed to provide the worst customer service experience ever. My claim (2305-829) was filed May 2nd 2023. It is May 25th 2023 still nothing, nothing has been done. The adjuster has called me once. The repairs in the claim are clearly covered in the contract yet they are just stringing me alone. The adjusters (I have had 2 of them) will not answer the phone, neither will their supervisors. Bottom line I have paid all monthly premiums promptly and ontime. In return the service I have received is non-existent. This company SMART AUTO CARE has not delivered anything for except disappointment. No stars read more

They don't answer the phone for claims... service rep said he was on hold for 2 hours.. then they don't cover the repair if you don't call them first. read more

This company the worst customer service that I have ever experienced, directly opposite of their claim to be the Industry Leader in Customer Service. I purchased 3 car warrantees from this company in 2020, of which I have made claims under 2 of the contracts. In every case, both I and the repair shops have experienced the following terrible service characteristics: - The worst part of their Customer Service is the inability to talk to someone at the company. Impossible to get someone to answer the phone, always placed on hold. - Long hold times exceeding 1 hour with the line randomly dropping sometime after 45 minutes. - No responses when escalating the issues to the Supervisor - Zach Gibbs and leaving voicemail requesting a call back to discuss. - Delays and slow walking in contacting an outside Inspector to view the car at repair shop to approve the work. - Unreasonable demands on repair shops to prove damaged parts. - When they do approve a claim they limit labor to $80/hour while market is clearly above that in the $120-200 range depending on foreign or domestic. - Reimbursement of Parts replaced is also at a lesser amount than the cost to me. - Even though I purchased the $-0- Deductible Advantage Car warranty, I still have had to come out of pocket for significant portion of repairs - approx. 30-40%. - The slow response from Smart Autocare also puts a real bind on the repair shop as the length of time getting claims resolved ties up their shop and service bays. - I am filing a claim with the Tennessee Consumer Affairs Department in the Attorney General's office. - I will never do business with this company again. brought my truck in for a bad turbo and timing chain. had my truck in the shop 3 weeks. waiting for authorization couldn't wait any longer so I just paid it. Now they won't cover since they never looked are it. No its back in for the other turbo and no it can just sit there. Thinking of getting a lawyer. read more

We work with extended warranties all the time. This has so far been our worst experience. So far , 5 phone calls, over 2 total hours on hold, and call "dropped" 3 times. Still have no approval, as we are confirmed as to what is covered, but on a 3rd pricing review. You go thru the whole process, then get transferred to another department that then either drops the call, or goes over it all over again. It seems some of this may be purposefull, trying to get you to give up. They want to send the shop the (cheep chinese crap) parts for the repair instead of allowing the shop to use a good quality part. A bottom of the barrel company. read more

The best way to describe this warranty is FOOLS GOLD! DONT DO IT! They find a reason not to pay. You can follow every step required and they will find a way out. No winning with these guys. Save yourself the headache! read more

Sneaky exclusions compared to other warranty options (Mopar maxcare)

Had a road hazard warranty with them and my wife's tire began to bubble. I replaced the tire at a shop close to home and brought the defective tire to the dealership. When I called Autocare they asked if the shop had called them for authorization before replacing the tire. As this was an emergency, I had the tire replaced before calling. The representative advised that the claim would be denied even though the tire had been professionally replaced with the same model of tire. Zero stars for callous treatment. read more

Stay away from smart autocare. I have a Total exclusionary plan was told covers bumper to bumper. 84 month or 125 thousand mile warranty.Took my car into a dealer for repairs and they found a burnt valve about a 4 thousand dollar repair. This is suppose to be covered under our policy. Smart autocare was contacted and they said it wasn't covered because it has a bike rake hitch on the car that came with the car when we bought it and they put the warranty on it, and the hitch has never been used by us and what does a hitch have to do with a burnt valve. Rude people, not willing to work with anyone. Isn't this fraud. We are contacting our attorney General and better business bureau. I was told by the car dealership that sold the car to me that these warranty places are giving good dealerships a bad name. read more

Terrible service said call back dealership for service. Call never made to pay for repair. I am still waiting for the part so the Toyota dealer service Dept can repair my car. I drop my car early Monday. It has been a week with no car. I have to take a taxi to work and my costs are adding up. I have no idea why endurance warranty chose smart auto care as the administrator to handle claim for repair. I must say the service is very poor. I would not recommend smart auto care and would a zero star service if I could. read more

I purchased the extended warranty from Off Lease in Miami they told me to spend the $3600.00 and I will not need to worry about anything that breaks down in the car except normal wear and tear items. I had it for 3 years and never used it for my Volvo XC60. Now the air conditioning is not working and the back hatchback latch doesn't release. My service advisor put the claim in yesterday but a claims adjuster still hasn't been assigned to my claim. So I need to pay for a rental car. She claims that because of the coronavirus they are backed up. I didn't know cars could be infected. After reading the reviews I understand I have been ripped off. read more

Normally I do not purchase extended warranties on any products, especially Acuras. Thankfully I did, since my acura experienced a rare computer related total breakdown. After contacting Smart Autocare, I had the dealership diagnose the issue and fully repair the problem. This transaction worked very smoothly and nearly effortlessly. I highly recommend this warranty organization based on my own experience read more

Terrible. I regret. 45 days of wait to hear that the CV axle needs to be replaced but because it was chewed by squirrel. They are very good at jokes tho... so I put 1 star for creativity. Would put 5 star if they were clowns. read more

Working with Smart Autocare was relatively painless. After needing a transmission replaced to the tune of $7k, Smart Autocare was able to work with our mechanic to ensure that the best parts were used for the job and that it was all covered under warranty. The only negative was that it did take about 3 weeks to get claims approved and processed. We had access to another vehicle free of charge, but if you don't have this luxury and are forced to rent a car while yours is in the shop, it could get expensive. read more

Zero star! This is the worst warranty company Ever! I have the best coverage possible and they still do not want to cover the parts. This company does not want to cover anything and accuses the dealership of not doing things that they did. I brought my VW to a certified Volkswagen dealership and The guy that I talked to on the phone even said that this warranty company is the worst that they have ever dealt with. I am dropping this company ASAP because they suck! read more

RUNNN!!! Do NOT go with this company. I spent $3900 for a warranty company who will do everything they can NOT to cover what is suppose to be covered under your contract. One of the young ladies on the phone felt bad but basically told me without telling me that it all came down to the Termanology that was being used and the dealership would have to use a specific Termanology to get it covered but she couldn't tell me what that was. This company is a scam. I repeatedly asked for a manager or supervisor at least 10 times and I was told that she could send me to his voicemail but no one was at their desk and there was NO ONE else that I could speak with. I have been fighting with this since May 2022. This company is the perfect representation for everything that is horrendous with car warranty company's. I left a voicemail. I can almost bet I will not be called back by this phony company. Thanks for nothing. read more

They will find every excuse not to pay, a very shady company. I have been trying to get them to cover a broken part, clearly covered by their warranty for weeks now. The first place I took it to, they didn't "like" and Danny the adjuster made it clear he wasn't going to help anything along. Then I took it to their recommended dealer and they denied the claim because there was a TSB for the car, It's currently expired, but they will not cover the part. The phone call center has no idea how to handle a claim and the adjusters all have terrible attitudes. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy from them. I plan on sending a review to BBB also, they are a crooked company and people should be aware. read more

Do not use this company. My truck was totaled and they refused to issue me any prorated credit that was due to me . I purchased and paid $2,855 for an extended warranty contract for 36 months or 45,00 miles. when my truck was totaled, I had 29,774 miles or 16 months left. After deducting the $2,307 claim cost of the warranty service I received on my contract, I was due $547.00 which they refused to pay. The customer service representatives were extremely hard to reach and very rude and abrasive once you were able to contact them by phone. Avoid them by any means necessary. If your automobile is totaled , you will get totally zero regardless of the prorated calculations you are due. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY They do NOT cover what is listed in their brochures. They will deny a claim based on a preexisting issue with whatever make or model of car you have. For example if you have a claim on a oil gasket they will pull a recall or TSB from another part near the problem and claim that your problem originated from that so your claim will be denied. The customer service reps you will speak to put you on hold for a ridiculously long time and don't have any first hand knowledge of auto repair. They are literally just trying to find a way out of paying the claim based on factory defects and recalls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

I purchased a vehicle and was sold their "comprehensive" warranty. The person representing their company selling me it, made multiple verbal agreements and guarantees that the air suspension components would be fully covered. Few days go by, I notice the suspension is not holding air when parked for durations. Take it to the dealer they find the issues and put together a quote, Smart Autocare/Reliance Protection. Completely refuses to honor the services agreed upon, stating the items are not covered. The car has a full air suspension system, I have multiple documents that state suspension is covered. To include one that says air as the first item listed under suspension components. Spoke to a manager Dan I believe, he was very rude and abrupt. refusing to work with or provide any information requested. I called the following day to ask if they had an appeals process for claims, yet again a combative and rude response. followed shortly after by a call from the manager Dan, his phone call was borderline threatening. In his mannerisms, general word usage and tone of voice. It felt like he was calling to threaten or intimidate me, he had no other reason to call me that to intimidate or harass. A oral contract regarding what was to be covered was agreed upon and the supporting paperwork provided to me and signed by me had all indications such things would be covered. This business had no problem taking my money and when it was their turn to uphold their end of our legally binding contract. They attempt to intimidate and brush to the side, I'm a 100% disabled veteran from wounds received in combat fighting in Afghanistan. I had ten surgeries over four years including an amputation. This company clearly has demonstrated to me they have no regard for their customers and are willing to use intimidation to silence anything they don't approve. The financial and emotional strain they are causing me is completely unwarranted and their attempt at intimidation is completely unjust. read more

I have no clue why this place are getting bad reviews. My lifters shattered and metal peices went into my motor. These guys are giving me a motor with 26k miles on it. That's 50k+ less miles than my old motor. All I have to do is pay $100 for the deductible. As long as you take care of your car and do all the maintenance. You would not have much of an issue. read more

Worst warranty company I have dealt with so far. My daughter is in the Marine Corp, so I wanted her to have extended warranty on her truck since she is away from home. As a long time repair admin for a luxury brand I have worked with many extended warranty companies. I will say this is one of the worst companies that I have worked with. Not worth the money. Not one thing as been covered since I bought a used 2016 Dodge Ram Promaster. Purchased a 13 F-150 in October of 2021. In March 2022, the turbos started making noises. Had the vehicle towed to a Ford dealer. They determined the passenger side turbo failed and threw metal into the engine. Confirmed with cutting open the oil filter. Warranty company had to send an inspector out, who's sole job is to find anything to deny your claims. Warranty denied the claim because of an aftermarket air filter on the vehicle. An aftermarket air filter, they claim, can cause damage to the air intake system. This isn't some cheap eBay chinese filter, it is an S&B filter that has gone through extensice testing to show the air filter meets or exceeds OE requirements. I talked to the owner of S&B personally. Even with this knowledge, they refused to honor their end of the claim. I am fighting with them on a refund they refuse to talk to me about refunding my warranty. They tell me to go back to the dealer I bought it from. That would be great if the dealer wasn't 2500 miles away. This company is a bunch of crooks. When backed into a corner when they know they're in the wrong, the supervisor will just hang up on you and refuse to answer your calls. I have recorded calls from a supervisor who told me they could care less what I think and they make the rules and that I should just "suck it up and pay the repair bill" (quoted $16k at the dealer). Avoid these scammers like the plague. They only want your money and will do anything to keep it. Buy a warranty backed by the manufacturer instead. read more

DO NOT BUY A SMART AUTOCARE WARRANTY. They change the terms of the contract when you file claims. Not a reputable company. It has been a month now and they still have not paid. Never use this company EVER, and if you do have fun paying for your own repairs and having your car held for months. Lastly, the total disrespect I received on the phone by multiple representatives disgraceful. I purchased a new 2022 Kia and with that was sold a GAP insurance policy through Smart AutoCare. I lost my car while working at the hospital during Hurricane Ian just 4 months after buying my car. The hospital lost over 300 cars during that storm from employees mandated to work. Smart AutoCare has made paying out the claim IMPOSSIBLE. I submitted every single form, news story and insurance form they requested, and every time they came back with demands for the forms to be submitted in a different format, letters from my auto insurance to be reproduced on specific letter head. While mind you we were in an enormous natural disaster, people from all over the country were here assisting insurance companies etc. My insurance company paid $22,000 and Smart AutoCare has closed the $5,000 claim for my GAP insurance stating inactivity due to the correct forms not being submitted. While this has gone on for 9 months of endless calls, emails and not one ounce of care or help from this terrible company. I have lost my apartment, car and now my credit is being tarnished causing further turmoil after everything we have been through.
