As a start-up small business, we, the owners were considered experts in our field. However, we were not familiar with protecting ourselves from liability due to errors and omissions. We had contacted numerous insurance agencies to acquire the appropriate type of insurance. The agents that we spoke to appeared to be experts in their fields as well. They were knowledgeable about the product that they were selling and were glad to speak to us to gain a new client. However, I never had a sense that they really understood our situation and all the challenges that comes with a start-up company. They rotely gathered the necessary information and quoted a price. The relationship ended there.
Finally, I contacted Superior Insurance Services, and explained our situation as a start-up company and recited a few things that I had learned from the other agents. I shared with her some of the rates that were quoted to us. The agent spent time listening to our concerns and was able to gage our level of understanding about insurance coverage. She then contacted several of her underwriters to obtain the best rates possible that she could get for our company. She came back with excellent rates for professional liability and actually higher rates for general liability. The agent still was not satisfied that the quotes that she had obtained for us were yet the best. She told us to hold on while she contacted one more underwriter to make sure that we had the most affordable insurance rates that we can possible get without compromising our coverage. She called us back and said that the rates that she had quoted previously were the best that she could get for us and the last quote she had received was not better. Because she was not able to get a better rate for general liability insurance than the other firm that we had previously contacted, she recommended that we purchase our general liability insurance from the other company. Our agent/client relationship had started with trust and respect.
The agent's professionalism extended to all aspects of what an agent should be. We feel comfortable to call or email her anytime with questions or concerns. She had taken time to explain some of the most fundamental things about insurance to us. She had gone the extra mile to research the most recent state laws for insurance requirements and exemptions for small businesses. More importantly, we feel that she knows who we are and understands our specific needs. Rarely do we ever get the sense that a vendor is on our side cheering us on to succeed. It has been over 5 years since the start-up of our business. The Lord had blessed our company abundantly. Superior Insurance Services has seen us through our growth as our insurance needs had matured. Our agent had been an integral part of our business.
Being an owner of a small business, we understand the value of a good employee, especially an employee that displays excellent work ethic, professionalism, competence, and an overall pleasant disposition. It is a real joy to work with our agent at Superior Insurance Services. We highly recommend Superior Insurance Services to anyone whom has insurance needs for their business. read more
